Another great video! K band is the trickiest by far as this video shows, and an unmarked pickup truck sitting on the side of the road just past a K-band-alerting speed sign is very, very sneaky. He knew what he was doing.

Man! This is one of your Best Videos! I learned So Much from this! Thank you! I Always fight my tickets. But when I get out of town I usually drive slower, all over. I do not admit to anything though, because they always use it against you in court. I am at so at 98% wins, with over 85 tickets in my driving history. Lots of driving.
WOW K Band ? Who knew, I sure did not. Thank you for the heads up. Sorry for your loss, but he actually was a cool cop. Your dialogue with him was great
Been seeing an increase of legitimate K band these past few months. After ignoring them for years, I am now having to pay attention to K. And that sucks.
Appreciate you posting that video! You are right about the Sheriffs or locals. I had a similar experience with locals/Sheriffs nationwide (no tickets thanks to RED Line 360 detecting and displaying all freq!! ) oh Escort Live as well
I turned my K-band off completely on my R8,because using R8 for 5month in my neighborhood haven’t notice police use K frequency other than KA. Thank you for the video and I might as well turn n it back on
If you are certain there is no K band in your area, that’s one thing. I’m our case we drive multi state frequently and often come through unfamiliar places. K band is a must, IMO. You will likely find K band in every state at one place or another.
I drove a lot of Texas highways that run thru small towns. I’m always amazed how many people will do 72 in a 75 when your out in the middle of nowhere, but then do 60 in a 45 in a town with more cops than coffee shops. I got away with warnings for awhile, 3 times I got busted doing 20 over and just got a warning. Then I got a 67 in a 45, I didn’t see the drop from 70 to 55, I saw the 45 sign and hit the brakes, and saw the cop sitting up ahead. I think he clocked me before I hit the 45 sign, but didn’t want to fight it. I did a deferred on it so it wouldn’t go on my record. Then I got busted doing 39 in a 25 a couple weeks ago. The cop was decent and wrote it for 29, it was $54, no points, so I just paid it. I don’t speed as a habit, but when you drive 6k miles a month, it happens. Waze and Google do an ok job telling you what the limit is, but sometimes I don’t always notice it. I wish the apps would give you a sound notification when the speed drops.
To be fair that looked like a funky K response. Also been my experience with Redline 360c when I had it, almost got me in trouble a few times. Sadly my local area has a mix of K and Ka, even on newer patrol cars. PITA
In its current (and historical) iteration(s), the Redline is a non starter for me. It is entirely erratic and unreliable as a K band detector. I communicated this again to Escort at SEMA, they indicated that they would get around to improving its behavior with K-band. We’ll see. It’s been years that it’s been whacked. Until such time, though, the MAXcam 360c is my preferred Escort, especially with its laser performance which I rate as being extremely important, even more so than Ka sensitivity. If you’ve seen our recent videos, you will find two Veil G6 saves. You need a great laser detector to do that.
When I use to run a V1 I mounted the main unit in a visor map holder and the display down low. Coming up into a little town the v1 indicated a k band and I slowed down. I must have done is suspiciously quick as the local townie pulled me over. He came up to my window and looked in for a detector and even stuck his head inside the window. I knew what he was looking for to justify a ticket but I had done a very good job hiding the detector inside the map case. The case looked a little bulky but hide the v1 very well. He never did admit to what he was looking for and let me go without a ticket. If you have a RD with a remote display a visor map case can be your best friend.
Rocky Mountain radar company was truly a blessing to me. 2006 I started issuing this same technology and here it is 2024 still using a scrambler today. A scrambler is nothing but advanced military computer technology. It was never designed to be tested period which is impossible to test. It cannot be duplicated neither. Let’s say you’re traveling 90mph in a 55 ok. The officer can’t see you period unless your right up on him

@@RadarBusters Exactly, so far i've been lazered and been saved due to the radar picking up the beam while the officer aimed it at a different car, and many times around a corner in New york. These officers don't play and have good strategies.
This is why for many years now is why I choose to use a scrambler because it allows more time to adjust speeds down without being seen. The officer will never no his system is scrambled period. A scrambler makes your vehicle invisible but only at a distance away ok. So bout the younger near the officer around 200ft then he’ll see speeds. No matter what he’s using
Yes absolutely, cops wouldn't be impressed by the RD on the windshield. I only run mine on highways instead of city due to visibility. I'm shocked that HWY Patrol in the states even let you off for a warning when you ask. We are not so lucky in Australia. Speed is our "biggest killer on the roads"
I have found in my experiences, that asking in a pleasant way or even making a roadside plea deal often works out. We know about Australia. We were there for six weeks and visited much of the country. Your traffic enforcement is crazy. We had a number of “entanglements.”
