On top of trying to escape Hades, beat Banjo Kazooie 100% in under 2 hours and 20 min, and convince my friends I'm not a space murdering telletubbie, I have found myself enamoured in this year's critically acclaimed gacha game, Genshin Impact. Yet again, I found myself falling in love with a game that I was sure I wasn't even going to touch, but here I am and I'm most importantly LOVING the soundtrack. It has everything I loved about Breath of the Wild's soundtrack with even more unique themes and melodies. This song in particular was one that I knew I had to play on guitar the second I heard the chorus. It lent itself so well to this type of arrangement.
Going into it, I knew it would dust off my pentatonic skills which I was a little worried about. My last couple of years playing guitar I've really focused on scale runs and three note per string shapes completely ignoring the five note scale patterns so I knew it would be tricky not only to get my hands around it, but to memorize all of the individual melodic lines that are very much not repetitive. The trickiest part of this cover was definitely the lead guitars. Hope you still enjoy what I did with it!

Genshin Impact is a game that came out of nowhere it seemed, but after hearing this song, I had to give it a go. I've been having a lot of fun with the game so I hope you guys enjoy what I did with this theme!

Didn't know traditional Chinese folk music could become famous...and even get metal covers...as a Chinese myself, I see the majority of people think these kinds of music are... too traditional so most of them are not into it that much. People these days like western pop songs...

i 100% agree; the traditional instruments (pipa, guzheng) carried the liyue ost really hard as well in terms of the ambience.

Hey there, thought you should know that this video got reposted by someone to Bilibili for the Chinese Genshin fandom to access, and the original composer of the Genshin Impact soundtrack actually saw it and commented on it! He said that listening to a metal cover really brings out the feeling of seeing an armored warrior ready for battle!
It would be incredible if this fan-made metal cover inspired future music pieces in the actual game...

I feel like a Warriors-themed Genshin event would be more like Fire Emblem Warriors and the first Hyrule Warriors: games set in various other games. (FE had Shadow Dragon, Awakening, and Fates; Zelda had Ocarina of Time, Twilight Princess, and Skyward Sword).
Except this would be different times in Teyvat's past, including Old Mondstadt (starring Vennessa, Venti, and the Lawrence clan), Liyue during the Archon War (starring Zhongli, the adepti, and many now-fallen gods), and the fall of Khaenri'ah (starring Dainsleif, the Travelers, and the Abyss Order).

The album on Spotify didn’t have any of the other tracks from any other area aside from the stuff in Monstadt. This fills that void
It lacks the wolf themes which is a real problem since that first phase one flirts with DnB in the most interesting way. That said it's on RUclips, I think there's a longer "album" with it's own "Winds and Idylls" title

The music and scenery of Liyue are both absolutely breathtaking, and you nailed that feeling just as well here. For my favorite character, she hasn't appeared in the story yet, but I'm especially partial to Keqing since I got her on the Beginner Wish and have been using her ever since. Real top spot goes to my man Zhongli tho, absolute chad.
Seems like Keqing is gonna have a starring role in the 1.1 storyline, so you're in luck!
