At least one time I’d like to see a video of the filing room or two. Places where I worked called the filing room the heart of the mill. I worked as a saw filer in my youth and would like to know if they still use same methods as I used back then. Like hammering saws, etc. in both circular and bandsaw. I first trained on 5 foot gang saw blades before I moved up the ladder. Don’t see too many of those machines anymore.
Who came up with the idea of sawyers booth at end of track frame and not next to the headrig like all other mills? That's thinking way out of the box. Makes perfect since sawyer has birds eye view and can see down the rollcase and see most of the mill. I don't know why I did not think of that?
Bruce Richards ("Head Coach" @ Wagner) told me how many miles of carriage travel it saves in a day... i can't remember the exact number. It gives the sawyer a good view but also less wear and tear on the carriage and quicker time back in the cut since the log doesnt have to travel past the cab.
sawed for ten years this is a great set up would love to saw on that rig
