Just an idea, what i do is take the record sheets, put them in a plastic sheet then insert into a binder. A dry erase marker can be used on them, just dont use green, it smears kinda weird. you can get 50 for less than $5 on amazon! Thanks for the video! I also recommend the plushie! I have one and love it!
Thanks! I realized this weekend that they didn't give any PDF versions of these during the Kickstarter which would have been nice, but oh well. I'm debating either sheet protectors or laminating, but didn't realize that there were the issues with green, so thanks! And we ended up with two plushies at GenCon... They're hilariously adorable.
@@GamingWithADHD Glad to hear you got a couple of them!! They are adorable! I thought about laminating, but not only is it time consuming, unless you have access to a laminator, it can get expensive. I hope they come out with another plushie soon.... a hunchback might be kind of funny.
I could swear I saw a picture of some prototypes recently. I was told by big-wigs from CGL that they are absolutely working on more designs and to make it an actual line. As for laminating, look into a home laminator. They're actually not that expensive. Still takes some time, but not too bad.
@@GamingWithADHD Thank you for the info about the at home laminator, and if you are even in contact with CGL again, be sure to let them know there IS an interest in the plushies! i may get a second just keep in its bag!
Awesome review, I just pick this one up at Catalyst store on sale right now. I noticed they had, but sold out premium record sheets. I'm looking forward getting those sheets at CGL store or in wave 3 kickstarter.
I almost picked this up at Gen Con since they didn't have any of the wave 2 stuff. Alas, I bought the OGRE battle box just so I could have a battalion of tanks and infantry (and a slightly more cartoony map) to do combined arms games.
The record sheets have a picture of the mech in addition to the armor diagram. Sadly the standees do not have the name of the mech printed on them as well. After the fact that would have made a ton of sense, but it's not the case.
Any chance you could check what the Product Number is for this box (i.e. the CAT35XXX or something code - Might be on the side of box somewhere)? I'm just doing up the Sarna articles for some of these Kickstarter products, but this is one product I didn't get. Thanks in advance!
I am just getting into Alpha Strike Battletech. I plan to get this Reinforcement box and the Alpha Strike Commander's hardback rules. You said in the video there are Inner Sphere mechs in this box. Are Clan Mechs and Inner Sphere the same mechs with different stats? Will I need the Succession War cards or the Inner Sphere cards boxes for Alpha Strike? Is there anything else I need to get started with Alpha Strike Battletech? (The Alpha Strike box with 13 mechs seems good, but it only has the light rules and only 13 mechs, so it does not give a lot of choice compared with this Reinforcement box.)
Inner Sphere/Clan generally refers to technology base and chassis designs. But there are no hard and fast rules as to who can use what, that’s mostly determined by the story and/or scenario. As for the card boxes, basically they’re just collections of cards for Alpha Strike and themed based on Clan or Inner Sphere designs. I believe you can get the cards online from the Master Unit List site, but I haven’t tried it yet, so I’m not sure. I’ll be honest, I’m not entirely sure how great this will be for Alpha Strike as there are no bases for the standees, just cross tabs. But there are some 3d printer files out there that work really well. As for the Alpha Strike box, I don’t have it yet, but the 13 mechs are 8 Inner Sphere and 5 Clan which based on the tech levels should be roughly balanced. Yes, Clan tech is really good in comparison. And 5 Clan is a Star (basic unit) and 8 Inner Sphere is two Lances (basic unit).
Does this come with a coupon inside the box like some of the other box releases of battletech? I saw its on sale on catalyst website and was interested, but didn't know if it came with a coupon.
@@GamingWithADHD thanks for the reply ahh okay, I was under the impression it came in other boxes because someone told me they got one in the Battletech Game of armored combat box as well so I figured it was in all of them.
I'm curious to see what they'll have there. I hope some of the boxed sets since most backers have their stuff (or should) by now. Of course with all these standees now... :D
Instead of heavy card stock, imagine if those standees are made of shrink dinks (16:30). But I guess some arts and crafts folks who are adept at copy and paste can print them then bake them.
I've seen a lot of "miniatures" similar to that coming out lately for Dungeons and Dragons. I think it's a really interesting idea, but I'm not entirely sure about the cost, especially since CGL is making the plastic miniatures. They would look really cool though.
Thanks for this, nice to see whats in the box! I will use this to surprise my twin boys in their IS campaign.
Fantastic! It's a cool set and if cardboard isn't an issue it can make for some MASSIVE armies.

Thanks! Glad you found it useful. I think the kit is great, but I haven't gotten the premium record sheets yet.
@@GamingWithADHD I guess keep an eye when they're back in production. Cheers

That's fair. I'm a "mech" guy, but that's a great idea for adding vehicles!
Is there a simple way to match the standees with the record sheets that represent them?

It does not. The coupon you're thinking of is in the Essentials Box that you get from Target. I haven't seen a coupon in any of the other boxes.

Looks like a Grendel on the box cover.
Thanks! So many big stompy robots that I don't know them all. That just means more to discover eventually! :D
I got ridiculous amount with the KS. I hope I can get more a GenCon! LoL

My order is still on a Fedex truck =/
The worst was getting one ship date, but then seeing it get delayed... It got here eventually though.
Not bad these card board well be rare
I hope not. This is a great product they should keep in production, even if only through their website.
