I actually tried it but I just made it like tea today and mixed it with honey. it was pretty good, but I don't recommend putting too much honey in it and don't drink it at room temperature it tastes kinda funky. all in all its pretty good.
Then what you did is not exactly what we call "mate" but it's "mate cocido".It's also nice, but the way Tom is making is like the original one and it's a different flavour. when you have a mate cocido you only have one cup. If you drink mate like Tom is doing it you will also drink more because you keep refilling it
Yes! I know it's a bit hard to get it. Tom's mum bought it in Amazon. It's better and "more real" in that way. Besides, mate is a social activity. I needs to be shared with other people. That's the real poin of drinking mate. To sit to chat with people while you drink it :D
