Love my 2010 Sequoia. It’s safe, strong and very reliable. Never had a problem . Hauls everything we need, kids, dogs, equipment. Who cares about gas mileage when you buy this tank. Safety and reliability comes first .
A 0-60 of 6.2 seconds and it weighs over 6000 lbs, 19 cupholders, and it seats 7 comfortably? I'll take it! Who cares if it looks dated....if it ain't broke don't fix it!
And with all that it's going to get you through for 300,000 miles easy just take care of it, I was going to buy a sequoia but ended up with a highlander consider I didn't need that big of a truck at all and that gas mileage was too much for our city grocery needs, will buy one as soon as I need it
Sequoia is the best! I just bought it, it's much bigger than my previous Mercedes also everything are helpful. Bigger space and so many rooms, nice TV monitor for the passenger seats in the back, and there are many seats, And lots of storages, and feels like at home! Love it 👌
Thanks Kyle, I am sold with the Platinum after watching this video. I was sold with the Limited but after seeing all the extra features the Platinum has it is definitely worth the extra money.
The Toyota Sequoia is an awesome SUV when it come to space, power and reliability, and not to forget luxury. With that being said, many owners like the extra space and cup holders rather than door pockets for papers and pens to store and the Toyota Sequoia has a lot of advantages than its domestic and Japanese rivalries, like its third-row reclining bench seat and its rear-window that is one touch up/down with a push of a button, and last but not least, the second and third row comes with sunscreen shades to block the sun on the hottest days. Awesome SUV from Toyota with excellent reliability, but its domestic and Japanese competition can all match Toyota's reliability, respectively.
This car is amazing. My dad had a 2012 Sequoia from 2011-2017. After a ton of miles, the car kept its value unlike any other car. He bought it for $65,000 in 2011 and KBB said it’s price (loaded) in 2017 was $57,000, and he actually got $57,000! this is a great truck.
Engine sounds as similar as to the engine in our 2004 Nissan Armada, which is very clean, and looks very new for a 14 year old truck. It was kept in the garage a lot. And we barely use it . And its got a 5.6l V8. Good sounding engine.
I own a 2012 platinum with 253k miles. Always been happy with this truck! We purchased it several years ago with 143k on it. Never had any issue besides the ORIGINAL starter going out at around 210k.
Great review. Can you possibly do a review of the Land Cruiser in a future episode? No one ever seems to do one of this rare 4x4 legend, and no one can do it with the detail and professionalism that you do. Thanks, keep up the good work.
It's a lot of truck. Drives very well for an old BOF design. Not as luxurious and quiet as the Land Cruiser, but not far off. If you tow a family and a boat/trailer, great vehicle. Does everything well.
I always liked the Sequoia... roomy, luxurious, and just as good as a Lexus GX when fully equipped! Much like the Highlander feels like a Lexus RX when fully equipped and the Land Cruiser feels like a Lexus LX! (:
Bobyez so what? Reliability is still the same like it was in 2008. That’s where auto manufacturers have messed up but all kinds of new technology in them and made them junk
Toyota's version of the Expedition, except based on the Tundra instead of the F150. Outdated, not very popular. Although I've noticed the Expedition and Sequoia actually both picking up sales lately, the Expedition more popular but the Sequoia not far behind. Nice video as always Kyle. Toyota ought to make the Sequoia look more like the new Tundra, those are pretty nice looking trucks, although I've never been a fan of Toyota trucks.
This is such a solid SUV compared to the Tahoe and expedition, just in need of a MAJOR redesign with more powerful and efficient engine. I personally thing that they need to make the interior more luxurious and plush like the new tahoe and make the exterior more sporty like the new 2017 armada. They need to have more variation in the models too different materials and qualities as you go towards the higher end model. They also need to update the infotainment with apple CarPlay and android auto. The principles in this car though are PERFECT. Reliable, strong, and love the fact that the 3rd row can actually fit full size adults unlike the Tahoe. PLEASE REDESIGN AND BRING NEW POWERTRAINS TOYOTA!
Walter White Lol, yeah for the first 75k miles. Just saying. Haven't seen ONE Tahoe make it to 300k miles. Not a single one. Nada. ALL my Toyota have gone at least 220k-336k before I some them. Speaking of resale value which do you think wins?
The only competition it has is the Tahoe. The expedition is old (dates back to MY2003) and the armada is ancient. The Durango sucks so it's just a joke. The sequoia is the only logical choice if you need something bigger than a Tahoe and smaller than a Surburban.
White03T4RV82WD Actually, now that you mention that, the SUV that probably needs the redesign most that any other one is the Nissan Armada. That design dates back to 2004!
This beast is just reaching the size where one begins to wonder if they should've made it with a standard Diesel engine. It looks as if you're driving a full sized van or a truck. Huge.
Just a head up, I do in fact like all SUV's; it is a suv not a car, truck not van, ok?, but face facts, the Toyota Sequoia is the best suv made, with all the accessories and power, it has 19 cup holders and a tramendous amount of space, look at those caparntments in between the seats, it has holders in the freakin doors , it has a slick and slim design and uses a lot of electricity, all that room, look at all that room, it has so much features to it and it has pure power , it's beautiful and bold, look at it, it's spectacular, my future suv is right i front of my eyes, all of you that beg to differ, can stop reading now and go kill them selves, I mean the room is crazy!!!! I love Toyota #toyotaforthewin
I wish i lived in america..the cars you guys have there are much cooler and meaner. And no absurdly high taxes on gas guzzling cars. I drive both a Prius and a MR2, so i have the best of both worlds. (fun and power + fuel economy and comfort). Honestly, the taxes in europe and especially holland make petrol heads just want to emigrate to another country
If you're into the large V8 thing, come to America. And with gas prices being a lot lower now, it's a steal. In terms of the environment, we don't really care about it until gas prices go up again..its who we are I guess.
The Sequoia has the best interior packaging of any full-size SUV. I really like the sliding 2nd row and spacious 3rd row. The seats also fold really flat. I just wish they'd update the thing already. Hopefully a redesigned model is coming for 2016. I'd also love a Lexus version of this truck. The only downside is the awful fuel economy and that faker than fake wood trim.
As far as interior quality goes it simply destroys the competition in its price range...Love the Sequoia design overall after looking at the Tahoe and other similar car's videos with this guy
This' it! My dream car, the car for the future. I have said it over and again that I am gonna buy this car as soon as CNL Nigeria pays the much awaited money. God's good. A P Saint Ve Royal Water.
Hey! Man would be really happy if you could find and make a video about my favourite car the ferrari f40. Or the volvo 850 T5R. Great videos love to watch your videos before sleep!
Personally I think this is a great car for what it is. Unfortunately it is probably the end of its cycle. It is last generation at the moment. As its based in the tundra pickup I don't think it will be updated too much until that vehicle also receives a major update.
***** You forgot to mention that if you put this car in reverse, Rear Backup Camera appears with Guidance Lines. This car is powered with a 6-Speed Automatic Transmission with Sport Mode & Manual Shift Ability.
Ford Is Best. Yukon and Tahoe are far greater than the expedition and sequoia, They beat these two in gas mileage, reliability, interior amenities, safety tech, etc.
Reliability? That's a good one. I'd like to see a GM last as long as a Toyota. Oh and the safety is bull, their cars catching on fire and constant recalls... not to mention the airbag failed in my friends GMC Yukon Denali. The interior in my opinion is better in the Sequoia Platinum and Expedition King Ranch. The Gas Mileage (If you compare the 2015's) The Ford Get's 16 City 22 HWY And the Yukon gets 16 city 23 HWY, so about the same. Rather impressive for a V8, I'll give it that. And the Sequoia is the worst with gas, 13 city 18 hwy. But with a big 5.7 L V8 you wouldn't expect much. Sorry man, I just don't trust GM Like I used to, they lost it all from me :(.
Ford Is Best. Well I can't knock your personal experience, but just check where Ford stands for reliability. GM has really improved consistently over the years, and gas mileage for a V8 like the Tahoe is what makes my decision for me. Even with GM's 6.2 they achieve over 20 mpg. And I agree the ignition switch issue is bad, but that's why old GM went under, give them credit though for taking responsibility for it though. But take a look at the reliability rankings. www.mlive.com/auto/index.ssf/2013/10/consumer_reports_gm_chrysler_a.html www.autonews.com/article/20131028/OEM01/131029889/lexus-tops-reliability-rankings;-ford-again-near-bottom www.cbsnews.com/news/consumer-reports-reliability-ratings-japanese-dominate-ford-lags/
I've had many ford friends that had many Fords with different engines, all were bulletproof. Especially my 5.4 Expedition, lasted 200K Of nothing but abuse. Towing over the limit, late maintenance, offroading, contant flooring and redlining, etc. I've just had so much bad luck with GM, I can't go back.
No denying that this is one magnificent beast of a vehicle, but I’m struggling to get around the weird blobby body style, I’m sure I could learn to like it someday. I still prefer the body style of the previous generation.
Hey kyle, i was wondering if you could do a Dodge Ram 1500 super cab big horn edition review because i might be getting one and id like to see what it features
I really just don't understand Toyota/Lexus. Why on earth is the fully loaded Sequoia $65,000, and its Lexus twin the GX 460 also $65,000 fully loaded. Starting prices are only $5000 apart. Same with the Land Cruiser and the Lexus LX 570, Toyota costs $79,000 starting and the Lexus $82,000. This literally makes no sense. The entire point of Toyota is to be AFFORDABLE and reliable, and the point of Lexus is the reliability of Toyota but the prestige and luxury of a midrange high end vehicle. All these reasons and more are why Toyota/Lexus doesn't sell even close to the amount full sized SUVS as their competitors do. Toyota may dominate with their 15K-30K range in cars and SUVS, and Lexus may do well with their IS, RX, and ES models, but they really need to get a grasp of reality and understand if I'm spending $65,000, it for damn sure won't be a toyota!
Matt Dell'Aquila All excellent points. First let me say I am a Toyota fan but as of late they've been struggling with their image. They seem to be "thrashing" around unsure of themselves. As for your Land cruiser let me also add they have the WORST resale value losing about $1000 a month in value. You'll pay $90k with tax maybe $107k. In four years with only 30k miles on it one can be bought for....$45k. Ironic as one would think only selling maybe 3,000 of them a year you would THINK they would be in high demand or better resale value. Not so. Back to your point of luxury. Buy a Mercedes GLS 550 for that AND have better resale value. Toyota somewhere has gotten a little greedy (not blaming anyone for wanting to make extra) but their "value" has slipped by Titanic proportions.
Can anyone comment that's driven this and the Armada? I've only driven the Armada, love the idea and lay out of this vehicle only hang up I have is how it drives. One of the things that impresses me most about the Armada is how small it feels and how easy it is to drive, a degree to which I haven't found in any other large SUV. So question is to anyone who has driven both, how comparably does the Sequoia drive to the Armada? Does it feel massive like it actually is? Or smaller?
Love my 2010 Sequoia.
It’s safe, strong and very reliable.
Never had a problem .
Hauls everything we need, kids, dogs, equipment.

Looks hideous

NICE 2015 Toyota Sequoia Platinum 4WD Start Up, Exhaust, and In Depth Review
Speaking of Tundra's, have you ever reviewed the new 2014 generation Tundra's? If not do you plan on doing it?

Can anyone comment that's driven this and the Armada? I've only driven the Armada, love the idea and lay out of this vehicle only hang up I have is how it drives. One of the things that impresses me most about the Armada is how small it feels and how easy it is to drive, a degree to which I haven't found in any other large SUV. So question is to anyone who has driven both, how comparably does the Sequoia drive to the Armada? Does it feel massive like it actually is? Or smaller?
More on the larger side, but doesn't feel that big... Really Nice to drive, go for a test drive !
is there an option for smart key instead of keys?

Hey can you do a review of the 2015 Toyota tundra.
Can you please review the 2015 Toyota Land Cruiser?
The Toyota Sequoia was redesigned for the 2008 model year in 2007.
Can you do a 2015 or 2014 Nissan Versa note sr? Thx.
Is the cig lighter and ashtray specific to the south? I haven't seen those in cars for over 10 years but here it is... weird.
thats a good observation, particularly since he's based out of
north carolina.
No. It's just a part of the car. I live in the south, and cigarette lighters aren't very common anymore.
you need to make a review on the 2015 Toyota Land cruiser :)
