- Every year, the ENTIRETY of the global press representatives attend the St Petersburg International Economic Forum - but rarely do they bring something meaningful back. I don't really see Russia's stance on any key messages reported, and it's obvious desire to cooperate and be heard by global media. I am yet to see what Rosalind Mathieson of Bloomberg has published of her experience.
If all the major media corporations and their umbrella companies are at this event - why must we search it out on RUclips?
As much as I love your work, Inessa, your title to this video is misleading. I don't see that Putin "put" this woman anywhere. He gave a straightforward answer to a straightforward question about oil, regime change and Venezuela. As to the judo/kick-boxing exchange, there's nothing there but polite banter as appropriate to the occasion. He knows judo, she knows kick-boxing. Each would be at a disadvantage in the other's sport. If anything, he was courteous in excusing her for fearing him in combat, which was also just a light-hearted social comment, meant in jest. In other words, he shared in the joke.
A misleading title can create more curiousity, understand the wisdom behind it ;) Shes not stupid...
@Antibiotics - I actually agree with Paracletus here. Being "not stupid" this way, Inessa is crossing into some "smart Aleck" territory and it's provoking the opposite reaction in me. I personally don't need to be prodded by hyperbolic titles. I find them counterproductive and of bad taste overall. And, this is the second time I've seen her doing it. On the next such occurrence I'll likely unplug.
That's how I see it:
the journo told Putin that he is too fearesome even for her, a kick-boxer, to compete with. It was a backhanded compliment [i.e. a put-down] towards a head of state because leading by fear is not what a statesman typically aims at. In reply, Putin told her that his strength, in fact, lies in his "competetive advantage" in the area of his expertise [i.e. judo, as well as statesmanship], and that he has no intention to wade into her sphere of interest [i.e. whatever it is she does]. So, in fact, in so many words, he did put her in her place, and the title is fitting, albeit a tad click-baitish.
In Russian Putin said: When it comes to Our questions, than he corrected himself : “to your questions”. It just means: Venezuela is our question, not yours. That was the right placement, that Inessa could have meant ;)
@@spartaknumerouno Well, we could analize it to death, but the bottom line is that Putin always seeks the constructive path, and we're lucky we have Inessa to make him accessible to the English-speaking world.
Respect to President Putin for even dealing with Western "journalists ".

Sorry =) It can be quite the mental exercise to keep titles relevant and interesting (I do not do DRY - some of you seem to think "Putin attends meeting #1456 " would make for excellent viewership :P This is not so! But pissing you off with anything that is clickbait is never my intention, so I appreciate the feedback when something doesn't sit right with you all.

They don't try to make others fearful like Dump Truck, Pompous, Pencil and Loose Bolt. They are the unbalanced insecure people. Always confronting and threatening long before it is necessary. The type you have to watch out for.
That headline is very misleading. I thought the woman was disrespectful to President Putin and he had to put her in her place, but no such exchange took place. That headline is nothing more than clickbait.

I live in far Oceans from yours, but when in a situation whereby our country is being used to destroy a neighbor country, I rather would die standing on ground to oppose such evil action, rather than pass that blood of precious innocent families down to generations of my children.

What planet is Putin on today? He used to seem quite grounded. His presentation about what he should know about Venezuela is distorted about many things. Including the refugee problem, which he neglects to mention for whatever reason. Does he even know about the problem? Or the narco-trafficking. Does he know about that?
