Hoopa is still an exceptional choice. Although I’d avoid trick and stay with teleporting even tho it was nerfed. Being able to shift between points is still a very good thing to have.
The thing is the new map is mobile and the nerf to base is just making the portal part worthless while the objective aren't the priority at this point and raquaza unite is just not it when the wind currents help you get there I would rather have eldegoss than hoopa at this point
I'm surprised thatHoopa isn't more relevant after the rayquaza buffs. As far as I could tell the only thing that held hoopa back was that objectives weren't as game defining as they were before. But with the stronger ray shields winning almost every game it's surprising to me that people aren't throwing all the hoopa unites at 2 mins as they did during the zapdos days.
As a hoopa main, I typically don't auto use my unite at ray, unless I need to bring the team there after an almost wipe. I'll typically put my ult portal at the enemy home goal to make sure anyone who died during the ray fight can try to get scores in
@@benburrell450 that's a very situational strat, and 9 times out of 10 you would get a lot more value out of your unite by dropping it at Ray when the other team are weakened.
I've been playing hyperspace shadow ball Hoopa the past few days and it still feels very viable. The win rate isn't great because for most of the game you are dependant on your teammates actually making use of your support, and I still see teammates dodging my portals more regularly than you would believe. However, in the games where your allies actually make use of it, it's very good. I've had plenty of games where I've basically decided the Ray fight with well timed/played portals, or just straight up clutched it by using my unite at the right time. I do want Hoopa buffs and I think there were much worse metas than the Hoopa one though I don't want anything crazy. My idea was to make it so that Trick clears status effects upon use and some sort of a rework to the passive - Magician so that it isn't completely useless after tier 1 goals are gone, maybe let it take the aeos energy right from the pockets of enemies.
I think it would be great if Trick gave a 10-20% attack speed buff. Allowing Magician to steal a Wild Pokemon from the enemy would be an interesting rework.
Those are also great ideas but with the stealing enemy pokemon I think it should ignore orange and purple buffs for obvious reason. I just hope they do something cuz Hoopa has been bottom tier for like 3 patches now and it better not be meaningless number changes.
