I really like them. The only thing I wish they had done differently is used just a two hand design. Not because of quartz entirely, I just think it looks really classy on a dress watch. Awesome watch, very tempting. Also call me crazy but I'd love this watch with a purple dial. That would seal the deal for me.
A lovely review of a classy watch Tim.👌🏼 Peter is less than 2 hours from me in country Victoria. This is definitely on my radar. It’s actually good to see at least 50m on a dress watch. Need that for doing dishes!😆
Thanks for the video on these. I really like these from the moment I saw them a while back. I jumped on the preorder price as soon as they opened about a week ago. I think the price is fair for the design and quality. Sure, an automatic movement would have been nicer. BUT, I am also not a dress watch guy and for a timepiece I may find myself not reaching as often as my main tool watch variety in my watch collection, I think it makes sense to not spend all that much $$. So, the Swiss quartz movement inside is perfectly fine. And, I'm glad the case back is screwed down with 4 screws and not a dreaded snap case back. Will make battery changes much easier. Although I am not a dress watch guy, I have found the need to add one to my watch collection for those rare occasions I would have liked to have one but it was absent in the collection. My dream watch is a JLC Reverso 1931 Tribute Small Seconds with the red dial. For me, I always imagine a square/rectangular watch to be very fitting with a red dial. But, I am nowhere in the ballpark to play and spend around $9k-$11k for one. And, if I'm being honest with myself, unless the JLC Reverso is a duo face of some sort, having the plain back reverse side is a bit of a gimmick. Nothing to really see on the reverse side of the dial and pretty much the dial side will be the only side I'd ever really look at and rarely flip to see the back. Sure, you may save the front crystal from taking damage and cracking. But, I can't imagine that a severe enough impact that would damage the front of the watch is alternatively applied to the case back would be good for the movement within either. Thus, this Memoir fits the very budget friendly bill and has all the functionality and details I need. And, of course, I pre-ordered the red dial version.
I wish we in the UK lived in a free trade word with Australia ( in this case ) and the EU and everywhere. It is not so much the import taxes I hate but the "administration " charges the postal/courier company charges. This is a lovely piece on many levels . If this was a UK watch ? Hit the buy button.. A very comelpelling watch but I am a cheap skate . Well not exactly I just stress over the actual landed cost. I wish I could buy . Richard
Hi Tim, what are your thoughts on the new Soner release which offers a quartz in the same price range and a Sellita mechanical for about a hundred dollars more?
Great video. What color Caseback strap did you have on the red variant in the initial images (w/the red side by side to the blue)? It appears black. Whatever that color is, I am interested in buying it. And I appreciate your refined yet laid-back take on watches. Well done and continued success, sir. 🙏
For $150 US more we can get the Lorier tank with an automatic movement but it is a two hand. It seems the two hand should be quartz and this sub second one should be automatic
I'll buy a authentic art deco watch like a Greuen Precesion from the 40's for similiar money . Please keep it our little secret , don't want to see prices explode 😢
with a manual wound caliber I would take one

Agree entirely.
Wow. A watch with a subdial that I really want. I like this.
Got mine ordered in green 💚

sorry thanks love your content! @@CasebackWatches
Sweet watch. Would prefer a 2 hander without the seconds dial but this very nice.
Hello Tim!
Hi David!
Wow this watch is beautiful! I think it'd look cool if they offered it in a deep purple dial.

Nice, but I’ll stick with my white Lorier Zephyr…if only they did that in blue…
Nice. I’d also have a look at the Rotary Cambridge for an affordable tank watch, around half the price.

Also looking at Soner Amorous. Interested to hear reviews.

The strap is one of my own. Color is a dark brown, like espresso.

I can never make up my mind about matching dial and strap.

Absolutely NOT first today!
It's an unusually nice looking tank, in an ideal size, but I'd never buy a quartz.
The proportions are bang on .
To often tanks tend to look a little goofy .
Yeah, but they're quartz.
