Brilliant! I am trying to learn the groove(s) from When The Levee Breaks. Obviously my kit doesn’t as good as Bonham’s. And strangely enough, neither is my drumming!!! 😂 But I am progressing even though I am 68. 😜
(0:00 - 0:07) This iconic drum beat (played by John Bonham) has been sampled in so many songs by so many artists over the years such as: Rhymin & Stealin - Beastie Boys (1986) Kim - Eminem (2000) Don’t Hurt Yourself- Beyoncé (2016) Lyrical Gangbang - Dr. Dre (1992) Taking Control - Aphex Twin (2001) Dollar and a Dream III - J Cole (2011) Midnight - Ice T (1991) Prodigal Son - Kid Rock (1992) Magellan - Mike Oldfield (1994) Pokémon World - Russel Velazquez (2000) Arose - Eminem (2017) & many more. 😎
A.I. removes the ambience of that stairwell in Headley Grange. Great for playing along to without having to tune to open F. Can easily navigate because changes are easily identified with fills preceding different sections. Playing along to isolated drums of “Kashmir” requires counting measures or imagining vocals in my head because Bonzo plays same pattern over verse and descending part that Page plays. Give it a shot and you’ll know what I mean.
Do you know what gives these drums their atypical sound? Is it compression, saturation, slowed down,. 8 bit or what?? I mean the original already has that distinct sound.
@@IsolatedTracksNew I' just figured it out. If you speed up the recording in the traditional way (so not youtube way) then it gets higher pitched and faster. However, then it sounds like any other regular drum. So it's so deep because it's slown down. I think the original speed is double!
@@PowerRedBullTypology oh you meant the original sound. as far as i know they used heavy compression, echo, reverb and delay. that's how they got that distinct sound.
@@IsolatedTracksNew I've just changed it in my DAW and its really just slowed down regular drum. If you run it double the speed, it's just like any other drum. Nothing distinct. I also isolated the drum further into it's 3 parts using regroover, and apparently they are shakers. I did not realize that! Another drum I like ( watch?v=X8eoVa3s-vE ) does the same thing I just found out! I sped it up a lot and it got higher too and less massive! also, quite regular drum rather than imposing/big

Best drum sound of all time!
Bro the drum sound in itself is insane. And Bonham played the heavisest beat ever on top of that. I think this is the best drums performance ever

Love that CHING RING!
Is the flanger bleeding through the headphones or is it coming from the board ? 2:45-3:07 then 4:18 5:04 ?
it literally sounds like an ancient god walking the earth
I like these parts 5:13 and 5:26 and 6:19
Oh hell yes!
Are these all sped up slightly? Or am I crazy.
i did not make any alteration about speed. so probably you are crazy :d
@@IsolatedTracksNew haha, oh shit. 😅
2:55 - 3:00 is disgusting
I agree, the sound quality that comes out of those parts do sound disgusting
5:09

this track is not studio made, it's my own isolation. the weirdness comes from that.
@@IsolatedTracksNew No, I do not mean that part. I have isolated lots of things myself, so I know what that sounds like.
