Wow Kelsey really spoke to me with her segment! She could almost give a Ted Talk. Lol. I have almost stopped watching some of the podcasts out there just because of the kind of knitting shame that I can’t keep up. She made me feel so much better about my knitting and my knitting goals. Thank you so much for that. Will always love you all at the Wooly Thistle. ❤
I agree completely. There are some podcasts I stop watching because it is all about expensive acquisitions and rapid production and it can take the wind out my sails a little.
Another lovely shopcast. Thank you Corinne and Maggie. Emma mum is awesome. Now I see why Emma is so great too. And a lovely contribution from Kelsey. I do knit at my own pace but every now and then I feel as though I’d like to be faster etc. “Keep in tune with your own knitting journey” (or words to that effect) is much needed advice. Thank you, Christine, Australia
This message is for Kelsey. I am so glad you had a discussion about the amount of new projects, books, and yarn and how difficult it becomes at times to ignore these distractions and just concentrate on our at hand project. As a knitter for many years is can be a distraction which really wasn't an issue back in the 70's! I was also happy you addressed the issues of fast knitters which drives me crazy at times because I, too, am a slow knitter even after years of knitting. So thank you for bringing those two subjects up!
Loved listening to Kelsey remind me why I knit. It's not about the product as much as it is about the learning about the craft but more importantly learning about myself in the few quiet moments that I can block out the chaos of life and sneak in a few rows.
Totally agree with Kelsey that knitting is to be enjoyed at whatever pace makes you the most content. Emma’s mom has convinced me that making a sweater in Tukuwool is in my future!! Thanks for always bringing cheerful moments to the beginning of the weekend. Love the flowery vest and the adorable lampshade! Looking forward to seeing a video tour of the new shop space. 🎉🎉
I enjoyed Kelsey & Emma's segment!s Thanks for having their contributions today! I can relate to one of Kelsey's points of knitting on something you don't really like because you think you should use up that yarn. If I'm knitting with yarn I don't really like, the entire knitting time, I felt robbed of knitting with yarn I am more inspired by. Thanks for the reminder to have your knitting be joyful!
Great shop cast. Kelsey- Thank you. I feel the same . pressure to keep up with the Jones. Thanks for saying it out loud. Emma and your Mom!! love ya. Corine and Maggie you vests are stunning. Thank you all!
Kelsey, so many validating points that we as knitters encounter, Thank you for your perspective ❤❤ Love the lampshade, Corrine, new talents emerging! Loved meeting Emma’s mom too, all great segments ❤❤❤
Thank you Kelsey for bringing up this subject of taking the time to enjoy our knitting projects. I just received my sock bag and I look forward to starting my first pair of socks in a very long time! Happy knitting.
I love your vests!! Amazing! I also love Kelsey's section on the pressure of knitting faster/more. She is wonderful to give us permission and remind us to enjoy the process of knitting rather than pushing and stressing to knit more. The Thursday Murder Club series is fun reading! Good luck with the shop opening! Wish I lived closer!
How exciting. I can’t wait for our next trip north and a visit to the shop. Kelsey hit the nail on the head with “Knitting is personal.” For me it is process not product and I will ribbit without regret because “All knitting is good knitting.” If don’t knit a bit every day, I feel unsettled at night. What a healthy habit.
Oh Wow!! Kelsey! I hear you loud and clear. You've hit the nail on the head with your segment topic! I am learning to enjoy the process a whole lot more 🤩 Thank you 🥰
Kelsey's segment really hit home for me today. I have been in a knitting funk for a while and her words of encouragement were great. I think I can find my knitting inspiration now. Thanks Kelsey.
Love that wall of yarn behind you! Looking forward to the sock KAL there are always so many beautiful socks made during this 2 week event! THAT lampshade is GORGEOUS!! I so admire your craftiness Corrine! Best wishes for a grand,,, Grand opening!
Another wonderful episode, thank you:). Thank you Kelsey for sharing your thoughts about the pressure to knit all the things. I often, maybe always, feel that as well. It was fun to see Emma's mom and her beautiful sweater. I looove the Thursday Murder Club books, great potato chippy reading for potato chippy knitting. Good luck on your shop opening. Congratulations on your growth and realized shop dream. It'll be a grand, grand opening, I'm sure:).
I loved Kelsey’s segment. FOMO is real, but the joy is sustainable. Really!!!! Also, seeing Emma and her mom finish each other’s sentences was fabulous. Happy opening ladies and congratulations on such an amazing achievement. Happy 4th.🇺🇸
Thank you Kelsey loved your post. I watch several podcasts, and I agree with you there are so many pressures to knit more and buy more yarn. All of which I love, however I have realized that I need to be intentional in my knits. I need to choose yarn I like and can wear ( and honestly that I can afford) and pattern that meets my needs. No shade on any podcast. I love looking and dreaming. Thank you Kelsey for reminding us to enjoy our craft and to be in the moment more.
Love the shop cast as always, you ladies make me feel like we are great friends. My favorite segment was Kelsey's, it really hit a chord with me. I can so relate to what she is saying about the pressure to knit more, faster, better, wanting to knit everything under the sun. It’s just too much! It makes me feel bad! It is hard to be honest with yourself sometimes and realize that, for example, I like very vanilla things, clothes and knitting. So many folks do SUCH amazing work and I need to remember that it is not a competition and that I AM a really good knitter even if I don’t do the “fancy” work. I took a color work class last fall and while I learned a great deal I don’t like the cowl that I completed, it’s too much for my taste. I love my vanilla socks and vanilla sweater! Pushing yourself for speed or to make complex things can definitely make you feel bad! I have only1shortie June sock done on June 30 and that’s okay! Thanks Kelsey for sharing your thoughts!
Another fantastic episode. You all are so wonderful and inspiring. I loved Kelsey’s addition today. It made my heart sing to know I’m so not alone in having those feelings! Thank you thank you!
Goodness- I didn’t realize how much I needed to hear it until Kelsey’s tiny TEDtalk, but THANK YOU for the wonderful reminder to just knit in the moment & be content with working on projects that you truly enjoy ❤ I’ve only been knitting for a couple of years and the pressure to try everything and at speed is incredible, even if it’s only me putting on that pressure! Thank you, Kelsey, for the lovely purl of wisdom and the genuine love you poured out with it. I cannot wait for the storefront to open and to finally say hello to you gals in person! 🤗 Happy Knitting!
Delightful. "Knitting in the wild" - I just can imagine a bison with knitting needles in hand..😊 Kelsey's segment hit home. We live in a time where the internet is both a blessing and a curse. Lusting after others' work and speediness instead of the enjoyment of what we are ourselves creating, no matter the speed. I love her sock pattern. Kudos, Kelsey!
Yes Kelsey, I do fee that pressure with knitting and spinning. With TDF, tomorrow! With Fibromyalgia, sometimes spinning won't work today, so knit or even watch videos for knowledge of fleece, yarn or whatever. Great visit! Thanks to all, Emma, Corrine and Maggie
You have the best contributors! All of you. What Kelsie had to say this episode really spoke to me. I tend to feel pressured all of the time to keep “producing” so it’s nice to be reminded that it’s about what brings us joy!!❤❤❤
Another wonderful podcast! I really appreciated all of the segments. Kelsey made some very good points about knitting. I want to keep the joy in every stitch and not have FOMO when I see a new pattern or yarn. There are only so many hours in a day. I have learned to become more thoughtful in my purchases. This week I was walking by a river and saw these beautiful grasses and wild flowers. It has inspired me to look at colors that reflect nature. Good luck with your grand opening!!!!❤❤❤
Thank you for another great episode. I always enjoy Kelsey’s segments. I do enjoy all of the content and contributors. I have also really been loving knitting socks with Woolly Thistle’s Rambler. It truly is a wonderful yarn. Also, congratulations on opening the store! ❤❤
Thank you, ladies for another wonderful episode!! Kelsey spoke beautifully in reminding us to enjoy our knitting! Also, a fun segment with Emma and her mom! Thanks a bunch!
Great podcast! Always learn so much from Kelsey, please thank her. I totally understand preferences between different crafts. I enjoy both sewing and knitting, probably equally but for different projects. I love knitting sweaters, tees, vests instead of sewing them. I will always sew a quilt vs knitting a blanket. Just my preference. Thanks again for your podcast 😊
Kelsey - thanks so much for the reminder to keep our joy front and center. I often sign up for various KALs, but having to be on any schedule about it ends up not feeling quite right and I don't participate haha - at least I get to enjoy others' WIPs and FOs. Corinne - that vest is going to be INCREDIBLE! It is so cute and I can't wait until your pattern is ready. Maggie - your vest is gorgeous, too - so vibrant! I may have to pick up a kit for that one. Seeing your vests is motivating me to get back to my vest. Emma, your mom is adorable and it is so nice to see you both share a love for wool and woolly wool. That sweater is beautiful. Thank you, ladies. I so look forward to these episodes. Just delicious for us fiber loving folks!
I always get so excited when I see you have posted another shopcast. I love listening to Kelsey, Emily, Caitlain, and the others with all of their wips, fo’s and tips, And I love listening to Corrine and Maggie. I really enjoy all the stuff. Thank you so much.
I loved Kelsey’s topic. I have realized over the last few years that even if a project isn’t technically a “success” (meaning it fits well and I wear it), making it wasn’t a waste at all…we ALWAYS learn something new while making a project. Also, the relaxation and enjoyment of the act of knitting, even if the FO ends up being frogged or donated, makes it totally worth the time and expense of the yarn.
Thanks for the thoughtful segment, Kelsey! It's great to be reminded that our knitting practice is ours alone and needn't be compared with that of others. So easy to do. And congratulations on the new retail space - if I am able to visit, I'll remember to keep in mind that I am also a slow knitter and don't need to hyperinflate my stash!
Thanks for the Shopcast. Great advice from Emma's mom on adding your stash yarn to your color work sweaters. Sometimes we just need a reminder to look at our yarn in a different way.
I came to knitting after sewing clothes for myself and my girls. I still love sewing but found knitting is more relaxing. Kelseys segment was spot on and something I have to remind myself when I start thinking I’m knitting to slow.
Another great episode. It was lovely to hear Kelsey talking about all those lovely yarns and patterns out there and the fact it is so easy to get drawn into the newest 'fashion' or 'it' item. I know I could never knit all of them and most would not suit my body shape so it is nice to just sit back and admire other's makes and think 'how beautiful'. I enjoyed seeing Emma's mum and her sweater and to see how two different yarns can work together. I am another that shies away from mixing them and will try and experiment more.
Great episode - thank you so much! Loved everything - and the sock and book boxes are stunning. Needless to say I want everything... AND BOY ARE BOTH YOUR VESTS GORGEOUS - so inspiring!!
Kelsey was really speaking to me. For years I hesitated to use my really nice yarn, perhaps fear of not doing it justice stopped me, and I churned out projects out of big box store yarns, the throw it in the washer and drier stuff, which definitely has it's place. Since I retired, I'm actually using the nice stuff and I enjoy knitting so much more. It is such a pleasure to use yarns like TWT's Biches and Buches le petit silk and mohair, and knitting stuffed animals, something i never would've spent time on, but they're quick and a lot of fun. I've passed on many of the yarns i've no interest in, to a couple of very deserving people and made them very happy, which made me very happy! Well, I've got to go, I'm knitting a pumpkin costume for the little mouse I knit and Pips [the mouse] is getting impatient!
Great shopcast!!! Thank you Kelsey for your segment - it was much appreciated! It was great meeting Emma's Mom. I am really looking forward to the shop opening!
Another great shop cast! Thank you Kelsey for another wonderful segment. Emma, I loved meeting your mom. Watching the shop cast is like visiting with old friends.
Thanks for another lovely episode, filled with lots of woolly goodness. The opening of the store front is so exciting. I was one for those asking if you would ever open a brick and mortar store. Yay; I now have to find away to get to New Hampshire. Have a great weekend, and, as always, I am looking forward to the next episode. Cheers!
Thank you, Kelsey, for validating my knitting style and speed. I am also a thrower who has tried picking, and found that it is not for me. I am also a process knitter and in the past have not worn most of what I knit. I have recently donated a lot of knitted items, and I am trying now to be more selective and choosing to knit items that I will wear even if they take me much longer to finish.
Such a nice variety in this episode! We all can be assured by Kelsey’s common sense advice and how nice to see Emma and her Mom. I had to chuckle when Corinne displayed her lampshade bc I have enjoyed creating some lampshades myself years ago! Got my sock bag, and am not sure what to do with some of the colors, Emma had a good idea about using colors on contrasting socks!
Emma & her Mom Yayy her sweater in Tukuwool and talking about how it blooms and gets softer was inspiring! I am going to pick up and finish my Tukuwool sweater!
I am almost done with my vest KAL. I actually made two! One was something that I wanted to make for years (and years), so this was a good opportunity to do it. That one was not TWT yarn, but I love it! It is intarsia, and I will get a photo shortly. It's called the Nosegay Vest! But, I also am very near completion of the Keris Vest, which I did obtain the kit from you! It is absolutely lovely, and I am so happy that I made it. I really did not think I would finish, but I am knitting it in the round, and I am steeking armholes and neck. My current anxiety is that the KAL will end, and I will have to post a photo of it before the steeks are cut! But I am pushing to finish. It's going to be close. Thank you for carrying such beautiful yarn and this beautiful vest pattern! I appreciated Kelsey's remarks, too. It's true that new patterns can "call," though I do a good job of really enjoying whatever it is I am currently knitting. When I get tired of it, I see no problem in putting it down and starting something new. Do I have unfinished WIPS? Of course! But, that is OK, because I am always learning and truly enjoying it. Finally, I am an avid sewist for many decades and I am a professional person, and I make many of my own wardrobe pieces for work and elsewhere (jackets, pants, blouses, etc.) I think the decades of sewing actually makes knitting all the more fun and rewarding, because it is easy to see what is happening in the pattern, and how things should fit, and not to be afraid of a challenge, etc.
Thank you Kelsey for speaking to me and others who are slow knitters. I love the process, especially when it is stockinet on circular needles. When I have to keep looking at the pattern and counting it is not relaxing even though it is interesting. I was 3/4 of the way through a sweater in a wool I was excited about but when I tried it on I found that the sleeves were too tight. I frogged it and started again, this time one size bigger. When I tried it on the sleeve was OK but the style didn’t suit me. I frogged it again and put the wool away because I was sick of it! The day will come when I’m moved to give it another go with a different pattern. My last project was a sweater for me that I haven’t blocked because here in Calgary we have a water shortage. When my husband asked who I was going to knit something for next, I felt guilty for thinking about me and asked him if he would like a sweater. I knit him one a couple of years ago that he said he loved but he doesn’t wear, so we discussed what he would really like. I’m now working on a sweater for him that is big and loose and will take me forever but all knitting really is good knitting and if he wears it I will be very happy.
So exciting to be able to visit a showroom. Kelsey, I am also a very slow knitter. I used to feel like I wasted time when I had to frog something but now I look at it differently. I love knitting so the time is not wasted. I used it doing something I loved.
Thank you Kelsey. Your segment brings the human element to making. I recognized myself in many of your scenarios. Your portion reminded me of several of Corinne’s past chats about accepting and even welcoming mistakes as a natural part of practice. It’s so easy to become trapped in production thinking. Again, I realize this is a “shop” cast and that logically links to selling product, but I’m grateful for moments like yours that contribute to creating community among TWT members.
Love Kelsey’s message today- especially as i have been having a less Productive knit season lately. Thank you for reminding me to enjoy every stitch. All knitting is good knitting!
I love seeing the new space! All of your updates, contributors, and inspiration are a wonderful treat each week. I have a visit to your area on my bucket list!❤
So thrilled you will have a space for locals to come and shop. Congrats. A long way from where you started. Great show, again. I love and watch each one. Your vest are both gorgeous. Much quicker if there are no sleeves for sure.
Even unfinished, the soft opening was a beautiful space. The colors, light, textures, and staff were a wonder to drink in. Another gem of an episode. Kelsey nailed it so many times for me. I get sucked in and distracted by color and it draws me away from what I'm knitting in the moment. Thank you for helping me get regrounded!
I love your energy and love for woolly wool! Kelsey’s words are so true. I started knitting less than a year ago to help me slow down but FOMO is real!
Enjoyed the podcast as usual. I have knitted with the Tuku DK and loved it. I will have to try the Tuku fingering. Loved Emma's Mom's sweater by Isabell Kraemer (Nasrin) and mods that she did in the yoke and on the edge of the sleeve.
Perfect timing with Kelsey's podcast! It's true though ... It should be a joy & I do tend to get caught up in having to do more & quicker! Going to take a step back & breathe! ❤ Susannah
I'm a process knitter, that's what gives me joy and satisfaction from knitting. Not really interested with knitting faster. I do agree with Kelsey that seeing at the shiny new things makes me want to cast them all on lol.
Kelsey, I am still working my husband’s Christmas socks. I started them toe up. Was almost done with the leg and decided I hated how the heel looked. So I ripped it out and started cuff down. I thought I would get them done for Father’s Day but didn’t. I’ve finished other things in the meantime. He will get them someday. Haha! Emma, you and your mom are so cute together loved seeing your knits. Corrine and Maggie, your vests are beautiful. Can’t wait to see the steek. ❤
Kelsey, I am so glad you talked on this subject because I have been feeling like this for a while. And it is all the social media and podcasts...I have impluse bought so many patterns! I won't live long enough to make them all. I have recently done exactly what you said and I have slowed down and focused on one project at a time and am trying to make it all about the knitting and not having the stress of "getting it down to work on the next". It is so satisfying when you finish a sweater quickly but it is also satisfying just to knit. So thank you - you said it perfectly and made me feel better! maybe one day I may actually do a Marie Wallen sweater!
Your Jill is amazing! I paused while watching 228 because I absolutely had to find out the color name of the yarn for the shorty socks Maggie is knitting. I sent my question to info@TWT and within minutes Jill wrote back with my answer including a link straight to the exact yarn/color I wanted. While I'm here I want to say thank you with gratitude for the decrease in your shipping charges. YAY!!! Woolly Thistle Team.
I can’t wait to move back to New England (from California) so I can visit with you in person! I did a happy dance when you announced you will have a physical shop ❤️❤️ thank you to Kelsey for the reminder that knitting is not a race 💐
Loved Kelsey's segment as a reminder to just do you and enjoy the process! I am very excited to celebrate your grand opening from afar and hope to see it in person one day soon. ❤
Kelsey really spoke to me about fast/slow knitting and how many projects get done in a month/year/etc. I feel i knit fairly fast but i also have migraines which limit my knitting days. I have found that , for me, it’s best that i don’t participate in a lot of KAL’s. That just puts stress on me to keep pace with the clues and the group. It’s great for people that like that, but it just doesn’t work for me. I sure wish i lived nearby so i could visit your store! What a well rounded and thoughtful podcast. I enjoy the episodes and i knit while i watch so it’s like knitting with friends!
Totally can relate to Kelsey’s segment!! I get excited about knitting everything and sometimes have so many things on the needles at once that it takes forever to finish them! But I love each stitch and enjoy rotating them!!
A great presentation as always. Kelsey it was so nice to hear you verbalize what I feel - what should I make next, how can I get everything done that I want. One thing I’m trying is at the start of each month to pick what I want to focus on and then to work on those items. At the end of the month I reevaluate if I want to continue or modify my choices (this is when I consider new projects etc.) Tanks for always bringing a smile to my face!
Thank you so much for the show. Always inspiring and so nice that your shop is happening 😃👏🏼🧶 I am looking today for my sock knit along and join in! I love that Links sock pattern!!!😃🤩
Kelsey struck a nerve when she talked about feeling pressure we put on ourselves with our knitting. She is absolutely right. Enjoy the process of knitting. Well said Kelsey!
Wow Kelsey really spoke to me with her segment! She could almost give a Ted Talk. Lol. I have almost stopped watching some of the podcasts out there just because of the kind of knitting shame that I can’t keep up. She made me feel so much better about my knitting and my knitting goals. I agree completely. There are some podcasts I stop watching because it is all about expensive acquisitions and rapid production and it can take the wind out my sails a little.
Well said! Knitting shame! It is hard to admit that I have this too!
Another lovely shopcast. Thank you Corinne and Maggie. Emma mum is awesome. Now I see why Emma is so great too. And a lovely contribution from Kelsey. Agree! Thank you to Kelsey! You made my day! It can all seem overwhelming and chip away at our joy of making. Loved her segment today! ♥

Love this episode - guest stars, visiting Mom and Corinne’s vest. Oh yes, and the new store. A lot of energy here! Carry on.
Corinne, you do an excellent Sean Connery!!! Love your new vest pattern! Another fun Shopcast!
Kelsey, so many validating points that we as knitters encounter, Thank you for your perspective ❤❤

Loved Kelsey’s segment. Shame/pressure is real. Thanks for the reminder to resist those pressures and knit what brings joy.
I always enjoy Kelsey’s segments so much! As others have mentioned, she is so relatable in sharing her knitting experiences.
Kelsey's segment really hit home for me today. I have been in a knitting funk for a while and her words of encouragement were great. I think I can find my knitting inspiration now. Thanks Kelsey.
Yes to Kelsey. She made lots of sense. Take care.

We do that! I am so grateful that we share this love of knitting.

She really enjoyed dropping in!! Thanks for being here with us.
Congratulations on your store! Thank you for all the inspirational samples! Emma's mom rocks!!
She sure does!
Knitting requires thought. Knit while thinking. Thanks Emma.
So nice to have Emma’s mom on this episode!

I loved seeing Emma and her mom. What fun.
We really enjoyed being here with you!! Thanks for watching.
Loved Kelsey's segment. I often feel the pressure to knit all the things too!
Love the Emma and her mom team. Great reminders about bits and bobs
Thanks for being here with us!! I'm glad you enjoyed the episode.
I just love seeing all the different colors of yarn! Beautiful, calorie free eye candy ❣️
Thank you Kelsey. ‘It takes a long time, it’s enjoyable and it’s what I want to do’. That was perfect!!
Exactly - and we still get to go shopping at TWT :)
You will really enjoy the texture play, I'm sure!!
Just loved Kelsey's segment--so validating!
Cheers!
Loved the Flowers of Fortrose Vest and the lampshade - way to go Corinne! And all the other Woolly Thistlers' projects!
That pattern is beautiful Corrine, the colors work wonderful together.
I hope you really enjoy the color exploration! It's my favorite part of a sock mystery bag.
Emma & her Mom Yayy her sweater in Tukuwool and talking about how it blooms and gets softer was inspiring! I am going to pick up and finish my Tukuwool sweater!
You will love wearing it so much!!
Love Kelsey’s message today- especially as i have been having a less
Productive knit season lately. Thank you for reminding me to enjoy every stitch. All knitting is good knitting!
Love the talk with Emma and her mom.
We loved being here with you!
Using those special but random skeins as the pop in colorwork is such a good idea! Thanks for another great episode!
Thanks to Kelsey and Emma (and Emma’s mom!) for wonderful segments. Beautiful lampshade!
Thank you for coming Kathleen!!
Yes -agreeing with Kelsey as I knit a 30 stitch gauge-loving the process and we need to remember “All knitting is good knitting!”🧶 😊❤
❤ Susannah
Congratulations on the store, Kelsey thanks for bringing up the subject about knit what you want, I have a sweater on the needles for over a year.
😊 I learn something new every episode! Your new vest pattern is gorgeous!
Always love your podcasts! gives me choices of great yarn and ideas on what to make. thank you.
My sock bag arrives today, and I'm so excited! Picking out the yarn and pattern for the knitalong is a big part of the fun!
This was a fun podcast! Thanks for sharing. So much to knit. Have a great week.
Oh just adore your shopcast The Halsock cowl kit is so tempting
This is my first TWT shopcast. Love it so much. Love your yarn. I am looking forward to Summer Sock Sprint....my first attempt at socks.
Totally can relate to Kelsey’s segment!! I get excited about knitting everything and sometimes have so many things on the needles at once that it takes forever to finish them! But I love each stitch and enjoy rotating them!!
Great Session today. So many interesting projects. Thanks
Congratulations on the brick and mortar shop. ❤️
I can’t wait to visit your shop in person! Beautiful yarn & projects
Kelsey struck a nerve when she talked about feeling pressure we put on ourselves with our knitting. She is absolutely right. Enjoy the process of knitting. Well said Kelsey!
You bring such joy in every podcast! ❤
Another wonderful episode. Thank you so much! I have added an in person trip to the Woolly Thistle and Green Mountain Spinnery to my bucket list.
