Absolutely beautiful car. Also nice that it isn't the California model with all the smog stuff. I rescued a 76 280z 2+2 out of a junk yard back last November and am slowly getting it back into health.
Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Now they want to slow down all the gas station fuel pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime.
So years and years people have been trying to buy the 280z from this owner to no avail. Out of the original owner’s good grace, sells this priceless car to you. You being a Z fan, get media exposure for it to detail/restore it and then flip it for $140K? Business wise, it makes sense but are you a true Z enthusiast? I feel bad for the original owner, could of been $140k in his own pocket.
First, you have no idea if people were trying to buy the car for "years and years" or not. Second, I did not own the car...I was hired to handle the preservation and sale of it. Third, I'm curious as to what you think a "true Z enthusiast" would've done with the car...given it away? This car belongs in a museum, which is where it went. Anyone who says they would drive it is either lying or stupid. 2 nights before the car shipped out, we had the original owner over for dinner and to see the completed car. At that point the owner gave him more money out of his "good graces" Everyone was happy with the transaction and the experience. Hopefully that is sufficient for you?
As somebody who drove a 78 280Z as a daily driver for 130,000 miles in the 80s, that sound is music to my ears.
I got to take my step-dads 280Z to prom in 79 and that car was a blast to drive! Good times!
Damn ur lucky

My first car was a 78 280z. Please keep this thing as is..
It looks very clean but we're hoses replaced from age from sitting so many years
So now it's a 351 mile 280Z. :P
If that’s the first start it sounds like their revving the shit out of it 🥵
That's the cold start injector...runs on high idle then it settles down.
@@adame6989 lovely car, would of been nice to hear it after it was warmed up and revved from idle
Hope they changed the oil ;)
nah they didnt think to do that or the gas lol
Man, what's that car worth with 350 original miles?
