    I had the privilege of riding one of these when I visited Japan. I was in a land that I had always dreamed of going, but due to my small grasp of the Japanese language, I was at first overwhelmed. I was in the suburban outskirts of the city, all alone, and I needed to be there at a certain time. I was so anxious and couldn't figure out the metro at first glance, and I had a lot of luggage with me. I said "screw it" and hailed a cab, and then I saw the most beautiful car I had ever seen.The chauffeur(yes, even though they operate as taxi drivers, they presented themselves with a humble prestige) stopped and greeted me and although my destination was far, he agreed to take me without a reluctant or snarky remark. Sporting a tuxedo with white gloves, he basically glided me through the city to my hotel. The journey was around a half an hour, but within that drive, all of my uncertainty and second guessing went away. The price of the trip was expensive, but it was well worth it.
    Then I bought a shitton of hentai at Akihabara.

    The yakuza boss riding in the back of this car doesn’t have a couple of dead hookers in the trunk. He has the government minister that he is about to blackmail bound and gagged. The minister doesn’t struggle, lest he scuff the carpet. As the car rolls through downtown Tokyo, every cop makes a point off looking the other way...

    • @aserta
      @aserta 6 лет назад +360

      No. The minister is sweating in the seat near him, unbound, ungagged. Silent, and meek. Why do you think there's wool in those seats? The car just rolled in front of his house, the door opened, and through the open portal, he can barely see the profile of a man in traditional, but expensive clothing.

    My dad thinks the 1gz would go great in a jet boat.
    I watched the Japanese businessman podcast and i don't regret it at all.

    I was gonna go to bed, then I saw an RCR video, ok, no big deal, watch it in the-*it's a Toyota Century.* I had to watch it right this instant.

    I can’t believe this car is from 06. It looks straight out of the 80s. Nice car but wildly outdated looking from the day it was released.

      I think they've only updated the body twice so far over all these decades. They don't dare mess with the winning formula

      It was styled to look like its predecessor which was from the 60's.

      That's how it is for Toyota's luxury line, their market is old money. It either resembles 80s styling or 60s Toyopet styling. Far more interesting than anything in the U.S.

    The reason theres no electric is because toyota is good at hybrid tech and they dont want to lose money on every one of thoes sold

      Why would they loose money on every one sold if it was electric?
