I am really surprised that we got Eastern War on the screen which is RARE, and some fun facts about the plane Jones hijacked is the Japanese early model Type 97 Bomber "Kate" judging by the outlook, landing gear, and engine cap which is a three-seater, carrier-based bomber with no main weaponry on the front. In the Game Jones was in 1937 which was the time that the Japanese Zero Fighter had not yet been introduced into the war, I believe that the game used the Type97 model and then put the weapon and the same color on it to mimic the legendary Zero Fighter which was first officially introduced in 1940. Even though the plane itself was not very historically accurate, it is still happy to see them getting into the Indiana Jones universe in such a good way.

It is mentioned in the film that Short Round was orphaned by the Japanese bombing of Shanghai, but since the Sino-Japanese War did not begin until 1937, there is actually a discrepancy in the setting.
The history between China and japan around this time is a thorny mess… short rounds parents were likely killed in the Manchuria war, a conflict that started in 1931 and would continue of and on until 1945, as it became involved in the larger second sino-Japanese war. What is happening here in the game is Lucas rhyming history as we are back in Shanghai with imperal japan bombing the shit out of it again… and now Henry “Indiana” jones jr can punch or shoot some Japanese soldiers… and we are connecting dots like “Is this the incident that orphaned Short Round?”… no, but these are bad people… so no guilt in dispatching them.
@@Motleydoll123I’m doing a research project on exactly this. Manchuria wasn’t really a war, more a occupation that didn’t really escalate into direct conflict since none of the government would want it and the factions in the army would still be torn on whether or not to invade north or south. Japan was already stationed in Shanghai for 10+ years by 1937, plus had a fleet continually operating there since 1919. China invaded Shanghai in July 1937, breaking the non-aggression pact signed in May 1932. But the IJA going wild in North China kind of negated it anyways.

It's clearly killing it right now. It looks really fun. I'm guessing this will be received as the real 4th Indiana Jones movie. Kind of like the Ghostbusters game lol.
Whats even worse is now that it's out and it's excellent, they're still struggling to call it "weird" or whatever lol
I find it infinitely funny that they spend so many years complaining about SJWs, political correctness, or 'wokes' as they call it now, but they have long become so much more annoying than anything they complain about, and ironically always bitching about social or cultural issues themselves. they became the very thing they imagined in their minds in order to be mad about
They still do
It made me laugh when they were calling this game woke because Indy punches Nazis and travels with a smart pretty lady. Did they not see the films?
99 missed call from isacc newton
0:55 XD
7:00
They beat the tank scene in Fast and Furious LOOOL.
I knew the game will be great, the same development team, MachineGames, worked on Wolfentein and DOOM games as well, those guys know what they are doing.
No wonder why the atmosphere felt like Wolfenstein's.
No one going to talk about how they replaced the canopy of my beloved nakajoom b5n with that from an aich d3a?
6:19 RIP Club Obi Wan Nice try Lao Che
1 vs 1 on the wing be like: 🗿
A6M in 1937 ? yeah sure
they look more like B5N1s but with wing mounted 20mms XDDD either way, absolute atrocity
Played too much war thunder?
There were similar fighters in use at the time though
I think it’s a B5N because of the tail gun and the 20mm’s on the wing
@SkellyofSkellington That's it
6:20 lao che from indiana jones 2
Mah man brought a Samurai in a Gunfight
当時の日本軍機は極限まで軽量化するために薄い鉄板で作られてるから翼に乗ったとしたら凹むか戦闘機が傾くんじゃないかな?😮
6:19-6:22 “Lao Che won’t be happy.” I bet he wouldn’t be. But Willie Scott did sang “Anything Goes.” On top of that, I wonder how did Lao Che reacted after he found out that not only did his pilots not killed them when they crashed their plane into a Himalayan mountain; but also managed to shut down a Child Slavery ring, stopped the Thuggee cult, and recovered the Sankara Stones in Pankot Province in India?
I didn't expect to see Yokosuka K5Y in video games. Trainers are almost always ignored in more dedicated flight sims...
wtf tjhis is so unreal, the takeoff and the japanese fighters flying so low
I like the gunner vs chasing A6M fight.
это D3A1
@_DIMGAT_
B5N1
@@_DIMGAT_ I think it's a fictional chimera between D3A1 and A6M2. D3A1 never had wing guns, the overall wing shape matches A6M more than D3A1. But the rear fuselage looks like that of the D3A1.
@@_DIMGAT_ Now come to think about it, canopy, cowl flaps, rear gunner look D3A1 origin. The wing mounted guns, rear tails, fuselage overall, the outer wing looks A6M2, not sure about the wings but it's definitely not D3A1's shape. Half A6M2 half D3A1 indeed.
It still feels like a strange move to have this game in first person
If you play it you'll understand why. It's really incredible exploring this game in first person
The studio specializes in first person, they played to their strength.
@@RugsterClaps yeah but this is a game about Indiana Jones. First person is good for immersion and filling an empty shell for the player character however in a game where I’m controlling THE Indiana Jones it would be better to be third person. Obvious examples being tomb raider and uncharted
@@Cipher_556 fair point but wouldn’t it be better to get a studio that specialises in third person. It’s a game about a franchise about watching Indiana Jones go artefact hunting, being able to see him outside of ledge climbing and cutscenes would be a bare minimum
@mumpetwombat822 tomb raider and uncharted aren't using the kind of puzzles this game has. Or the melee system. Trust me, you'll understand when you play it. The camera moves to 3rd person plenty anyways
Hey hey hey how many times is Indiana going to be in ww2
wait...this released on the 9th...but i saw a video of the German making the "choo choo" noise...that was months ago?
Japanese Bombers: Either kitbashed He-111 being recycled->Likely.
"A6M"
That's not a Zero. What that is the Imperial Japanese Army Air Force Service(IJAAFS) Ki-51 "Sonia" combined with Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service(IJNAS) Mitsubishi A5M "Claude"
To me it looks like a fictional 2 seater version of the B5N2 "Kate". The cockpit it almost identical to the B5N2.
I can’t for the life of me figure out what the Japanese plane is supposed to be.
I’ve seen some outrageous shit in the Indiana Jones movies but this is just obscene
...This is both incredibly stupid and hilarious at the same time. 😂
Crazy to see in the comment section some people have to literally spend time educating the rest of others about the Shanghai Campaign during Japanese invasion, Imperial Japan began its full on invasion campaign in 1937, two years prior to the outbreak of WWII, education regarding this part of war is extremely inadequate in the West, imagine a Chinese is surprised to hear about the NAZI invasion of Poland or their war crimes against the Jews… this is very concerning.
Japan was already stationed in Shanghai for 10+ years by 1937, plus had a fleet continually operating there since 1919.
China invaded Shanghai in July 1937, breaking the non-aggression pact signed in May 1932. But the IJA going wild in North China kind of negated it anyways.
@@austin9988 "China invaded Shanghai in July 1937" is probably one of the craziest sentences I’ve ever read... In July 1937, Japan launched the full-scale invasion of China and attacked the Chinese garrison in Shanghai in August. Then the Chinese army decided to mount a large-scale defensive battle in Shanghai.
I believe The Great Circle is the first AAA game to depict the Second Sino-Japanese War.
@@DinoKiller912 for all it's aggression, Japan did not attack the "Chinese Garrison" in Shanghai. There was no Chinese Garrison allowed there after the 1932 Shanghai treaty, just militarized police called peace preservation corps. In late July 1937 China snuck actual troops into Shanghai dressed as said police and later began moving full divisions in August which soon clashed with the part of Japanese garrison at Bazi Bridge on August 13, 1937, sparking the famous battle.
Does everyone in this game have magnets in their shoes?
Why does this make me think of medal of honour... I honestly want this studio to make a medal of honour its got the cheesy action feel to it.
No roundels on the Chinese plane?
-9000 credits
You know that was ROC not PRC
@@hhhhhing818 Based
I mean a real Japanese pilot would have just rammed the plane into the ground the second he saw his friend fall off the wing but whatever it's a video game
6:13 first 9/11???
Sadly enough the Val didn’t have retractable gear.
It’s not a Val it’s a weird 2 seater Kate
@@haouribi eh the cockpit looks like a two seater Val and yeah a Kate airframe. I mean it’s Indiana Jones, we haven’t forgotten the historically accurate German flying wing bomber haha
holy shit this looks so good
