Dharmapada was the son of a great architect named Bishu Maharana, who completed the construction of the Sun Temple at Konark, Odisha on the eastern coastline of India, in a single night to save 1,200 craftsmen from execution from the then King Langula Narasingha Deva I. Legends say he sacrificed his own life by jumping into the ocean after carrying out the final step to complete the temple top to prevent the story from spreading. The Konark temple is still standing tall since 13th-century telling Bisu Maharana and his Son Dharmapada's stories.[1]As the end of the twelve years approached, Dharmapada, the son of Bishu Maharana, now 12 years of age, went to visit his father. Upon arrival, he found his father distressed; the crown on the Sun temple's top had yet to be completed and the king had threatened to execute all 1,200 craftsmen if they did not finish it by morning. Although the task seemed impossible, Dharmapada decided to single-handedly completed it.
A debate then took place among the craftsmen. Fearing for their own lives if it became known that a child had completed the work instead of them, they demanded that Dharmapada be killed, a suggestion his father strenuously resisted. At last, to settle this debate, Dharmapada jumped from the crown he had completed, killing himself and ensuring the safety of the craftsmen.[2]

bisu Maharana (a worker among those 1200 workers) hadn't seen his son as he left his home for construction of this temple when his wife was pregnant . After 12 years his son came to konark & his wife sent some fruits from their garden & a dog by which bisu Maharana recognised his son in the konark .

Odia poets has written about the intimate statues in their poems. They usually said the statue and all works are a reflection of the worker's feelings. Workers were working there for 12 years apart from their family, wife, mother. So they expressed their feelings through their work. Not only intimate statue but you can see other statues like, teacher with student, baby with mother, sibling statue etc.😊

Because lightning is also a god creation and god never touches the bad symbols,.
So the pictures are situated on wall from all the direction...

Jo us mandir ka architecture the unka naam bisu maharana thi aur unke bete ke naam Dharma pada tha...unke bete ne unko janm se nehi dekha tha isliye woh jab 12 saal ka hua woh apne pita se milne Aya tha uske pita usko pehchan ne ke liye usne apne sath apna baag ka phal laya tha..phir jab dekha ki koi uss mandir ko chuda ko complete nehi kar pate hai..usne khud complete Kiya raat maine aur mandir ko chhukar hi ak river thi usme kud gaya taki Raja ko pata na chale aur koi na mare 😊☺️

Saare Worker ke leader (bisu maharana) hain unke ek bata paida hua tha Just Mandir kaam start hone se pehle jis ka naam धर्मपद tha. unhone unke beta ko dekha nehi tha, kyun ki wo 12 saal tak mandir ke kaam par busy the. Jab beta 12 saal hua tab unke maa ke samne jid pakad kar baitha ki mujhe pitaji se milna hai, maa bole tujhe pitaji pehchanegen kese, phir kya hua unke ghar ke ber jo fruit hota hai bete ko diya or bole worker ke leader se milke de dena or bolna ki hamare ghar laya hun tab wo pehechan jayenge.
Jab beta pahuncha dekha ki bete ki Milne ke khusi se jyada gum me the unke pita or sare workers. Puchne ke baad usko pata chala ki ek din bacha tha mandir kaam complete karane me, nehi to RAJA 1200 workers and unke pita ke samet sab ka sir katdenge. Beta chupkese raat ko mandir stone lagadiya Odia me ଚୁଳୀ jisko bolte Hain. Sayad raja is baat per saja denge ki ek 12 saal balak ne kaam kiya jo 1200 workers nehi karpaye isi liye wo mandir ke upar se hi samander ko chalan lagadiya.
