I feel sorry for the fire crews when they get fake emergency calls, my dad’s a firefighter and he’s been to local schools and has done fire safety talks and he showed this video to the kids to show how serious the consequences of making hoax calls can be
The police actually went to every secondary school in Doncaster cuz they always record the phone call so they played it in every school in Donny and in one school they played it and everyone turned around and looked at the teenage girls cuz they recognized their voice and now the girls both have a criminal record and the younger girls actually wouldn’t of died cuz the fire engine would of gotten there on time if it wasn’t for those idiotic teenagers...
It was an oversight that wasn't discovered until we finished shooting. Most of the scenes we only had time to do one take as we were working with a budget of £0, using the free time of real firemen and control centre operatives.
Imagine doing a hoax call it’s nothing cool or anything and if you get forced to by your friends don’t just tell them it’s your idea so you do it! My point is that hoax calling is serious and your actions always have consequences
Thank you for the comments both of you. Just to clarify, the point the film is trying to stress is: Hoax calls divert fire engines from real emergencies, in this film there was only one fire engine in the station because it was a small village. The second engine came from the nearest available location which was Sheffield(being a larger station it has more free engines) and had to travel quite far thus unable to save the children.
It's been changed to 2 years imprisonment and/or an unlimited fine on conviction by indictment or 1 year imprisonment and/or an unlimited fine on summary conviction.

Paul Carter It is an offence to send false or grossly offensive, indecent, obscene or menacing messages under the Communications Act 2003. See Intimidation and Harassment section above. Hoax calls are illegal under Section 49 of the Fire and Rescue Services Act 2004 which states that: 'A person commits an offence if he knowingly gives or causes to be given a false alarm of fire to a person acting on behalf of a fire and rescue authority' (the relevant legislation in Northern Ireland is Article 23 of the Fire and Rescue Service (Northern Ireland) 2006). Where that person is found guilty of this offence, in England and Wales they will be liable to a fine of up to £2,500, imprisonment of up to 51 weeks or both, and in Northern Ireland, they will be liable to a fine of up to £5,000 and/or imprisonment of up to 6 months. In England and Wales a person who uses a public electronic communications network in order to cause annoyance, inconvenience or needless anxiety, may also be issued with a fixed penalty notice for disorder of £80 under the penalty notice for disorder scheme provided for by section 1-11 of the Criminal Justice and Police Act 2001. It seems pretty lenient considering it might cost somebody there life.

I don't think you've quite grasped the purpose of the video. The title clearly states Hoax Calls Kill, this would have been difficult to express without a hoax call being made. It's simply telling you making a hoax call could get someone killed. Also imagine if your house was on fire and the fire service told you they were busy atm, wouldn't you rather hear them tell you they were at least sending an engine as soon as possible?
@@flogaming7615what exactly do you mean by not stopping the fire. Did you mean her not putting out the candles or her extinguishing the fire when it started. In that second case she couldn’t have put the fire out as one since there was smoke in the building she would likely still have inhaled it and then became unconscious herself and two it is likely that by the time she saw it the fire was very big. The first rule in extinguishing fires is life safety which means that you should first make sure that you will be able to extinguish the fire safely. You should only attempt to extinguish a fire if it is small and isn’t spreading or growing larger or when there is no smoke in the area. If the fire is large or gets out of control or if there is smoke then you should never attempt to extinguish the fire but instead immediately leave the area and call 911 or in this case as this video is presumably set in the United Kingdom 999 and then let the firefighters extinguish the fire as not only are they properly trained to deal with fires but they are also properly equipped with hoses and breathing apparatus.
Even though hoax calls kills, that woman is just as bad for lighting the candles where the children were playing. The mother should not have lit the candles, and then she could go out for a smoke. the mother is as much to blame.
