i thought that too but now thinking ab it i think its more of jealousy bc i think the “how hard they fell for you” line is ab the ideal image of a woman. she fell for the lie that shes not pretty or good enough if she doesnt look just like lacy. she fell for thinking she needed to look like lacy to be pretty etc

@@eleanor_me_girlfriendi think it’s more like she was so jealous and obsessed with wanting to be lacy and how perfect lacy was that it became almost romantic. this happens a lot in real life, you idolize this person so much that at one point it becomes i would say toxic and confusing. it makes sense bc at the start of the song it almost sounds like she’s desiring lacy which would make sense which how obsessed she is with her but i think she’s also realizing in the song that the only reason she likes her is bc of her jealousy

In obsessed, one of her lyrics states something about how she is so obsessed of her you would think think shes in love. That could also be a theoretical answer but Im going for logical here. NO LOVE IS NEVER LOGIALLL~
lacy is definitely about placing a girl on a podium and that contradiction of "do i want her or do i want to be her?" the line "i hate my jealous eyes and how hard they fell for you" isn't necessarily saying she's in love with her, her JEALOUS eyes fell for her hard, meaning it is a mix of jealousy and worship

I think Lacy is clearly about looking up to someone else and seeing them as perfect, the girl you would want to be, being angry at yourself for resenting them, wanting to be friends, but rejecting the friendship because of how inadequate she makes you feel.

i think lacy is more like she was very jealous of lacy and used to idolize her for being perfect like she mentions on the song but when you constantly think of a person this much and focus on everything they do it almost becomes obsessive and romantic which is what i think it’s happening. so idk if u would say she’s in love with lacy cause you could call this confused feelings because the only reason she’s feeling all this, it’s because she think she’s perfect
