THANK YOU!!! For pointing that out. When I deleted the account number I was able to then merge the 2 accounts. For anyone that's reading this and still trying to figure out why it's not happening, this is KEY info to make this work.
My quick book online essential doesn’t allow me to do this. I tried a few times, it kept asking me “are you sure to merge?” I clicked “yes” button, then it asked me again,” are you sure…?”
You may need to disconnect one from web banking with the checkbox in the edit popup (the one you're getting rid of), and then it will let you merge it into the one you're keeping
@@SeanPowell913 but then how will you pull the transactions from the bank cc for that second account? This is for reconciling a cc account that has two different cc #s, one per employee. thanks.
@@cutechickiewaffles7476 Yeah I had the same situation, I did it for each CC. Each CC has a register. By removing the "sub-account" setting you can merge it with another account by changing the name of the CC account to be the same name as the one you want to merge with. It pops up a message saying this is the same name, do you want to merge? clicked yes... it merged registers each time I did this, I did it once for each card, and all the transaction records for the 2 cards were merged into the main one with my own card. In the end I got rid of the 2 additional cards and just have everyone use my card to keep things simpler.

I received the message “you can’t merge two accounts that are both set up for Online Banking or Web Connect.
Guess your tip isn’t actually for QBO

I'm getting this too. I think it's an update. I've not found another video that says how to merge without getting this error.
