I had the same question many years ago lol. No, blue raspberries don't exist. It was a flavor invented by a Sno Cone company in the late 50's. At the time, there were two factors that lead to the creation of the flavor. One was the fact that red food coloring, specifically FD&C Red no. 2, was banned by the FDA for being harmful to human health. Second was, too many products were colored red at that time and companies were starting to look for ways to differentiate their products, and around that time was when Brilliant Blue and FD&C Blue No. 1 first started to be used in food products. In the case of the Sno Cone company, the blue color was used to market their raspberry flavor at the time, to distinguish it from their many other red colored flavors. Then the "flavor" of blue raspberry evolved over time as more and more companies began to use the same coloring. Each company has it's own formulation of the blue raspberry flavor. So the color actually preceded the flavor.
To answer your raspberry question! The "Blue Raspberry" is actually something called a Blackcap Raspberry! Their color isn't the fun "Blue" that kids in candy shops seem to love. It kind of looks like a blackberry.
