Clearly setting the final clash in a Chernobyl-like place, instead, say, a big city like New York for the Avengers, wasn't a smart idea. Clearly, you couldn't feel what was at stake. Heck, people is supposed to KNOW there is a group such as this, you're supposed to FEEL that they are SAVING LIVES. Instead, no thrill whatsoever.
I think the reason why DCEU is having such a hard time is because they didn't take the time to develop their universe like Marvel did (can't help but to compare). For every new superhero that is introduced in the MCU, we get their own solo movie first. For example, during Phase 1, Iron Man, Capt America, Hulk, then even later on we still get solo movies such as Ant-Man and Dr Strange. This make the audience get to know the characters first and be invested in their stories before having them all collide in a single movie (Avengers, Avengers AoU, Civil War, Infinity War, etc). Hence, people are more likely to look forward to these team-up movies, because they care about the characters. Don't get me wrong, I love DC (comics and animated series, and I collect DC comic books) and I really want the DCEU to do well. But their storyline is such a mess. We get Superman origin story, then suddenly a story of an weary old violent Batman trying to kill Superman, then Supes died, then brought back to life. I really enjoyed BvS (Ultimate Edition), but I didn't care when Superman died because I'm not invested in his story enough. I think if the DCEU were to take maybe 5 years to put out Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman origin films, then followed up by BvS (where Superman dies), after that Flash, Cyborg and Aquaman solo films AND THEN a Justice League film, it would be a better and enjoyable ride overall. Also, don't forget about Green Lantern. Build your world, DCEU. Not just try to play catch up with others.
Muhaimin Zulkarnain also I think DC villans and Heros are too much animated. They have to make them a bit realistic. Like in Marvel, wolverine never in his cinamatic life wore that stupid yellow costume coz it doesnt make sense. Also, for example the story of Civil war was quite heart touching(bucky killed tony's parents). Thats the kinda thing that pulls the audience. I don't know much about DC (not to much about Marvel either), but Marvel have people which makes sense (also those who don't make sense, they made them like they make sense),DC just misses the catch.
Apoorv Agarwal: That's always been the difference between DC and Marvel. DC has always been about having bigger then life heroes, people who don't have flaws, or if they do, they make them a person who has principles the don't waver. Admittedly the newer DC stuff (Meaning newer then when both companies were first starting) has been darker in the comics but that's more along the lines of DC changing direction as time went on. When you look at the original superman, batman, wonder woman, etc, they are all exactly what they were designed to be, avatars of the American ideal. Marvel meanwhile started later and went a different route. They had upbeat characters it's true, but they've almost always been flawed characters as well. Tony Stark has almost always been alcoholic, spiderman is a bullied nerd who gets picked on, X-men are outcasts. There's nothing wrong with either approach, but frankly DC needs to go back to what it was good at. Nolan's dark knight trilogy made DC think that people only wanted that kind of superhero movie, a dark, gritty one. Unfortunately that's not true (all the time). Batman needs to be dark and gritty yes, but Superman isn't supposed to be mopey and scowling all the time. He's DC's Captain America except he was first! DC frankly needs to take step back and breathe for a moment. They have great writers who did things like the animated cartoons, and the CW stuff isn't bad either. There are ways that DC can make good movies as can be seen in Wonder Woman, but they just need to slow down and stop trying to play catch up. (Sorry I went off topic and started a rant, that was unintentional and not aimed at you or anyone else except for DC.)
I thought exactly the same. But don't lose heart. If DC does not give up, then JL 2 will be awesome. By then all the important characters will be fleshed out.
All this is true. But there's much more They turned Diana into a sex object, and made the entire build up of Actually needing a team USELESS as they made Clark easily solo the team and villian
i think the sex object idea is you projecting. i didn't see that at all. the build up of needing a team was practical as no individual except superman could have saved the day and he was dead, so at the beginning their goal was make a team and save the day but then even as a team they weren't good enough. this resulted in them needing to think outside the box and bringing superman back was the only way to win.
The X-Men were introduced as already an established team, whereas The Avengers and The Justice League were assembled during the movie. The group mechanics in Avengers and JL are nothing like the X-Men, so it's totally pointless to compare these to that obviously.
It's not just the fact that they're an established team like Abel said the bigger aspect of all this is that the X-Men have a unifying origin in that they're all mutants everything is explicitly tied together from the start. The difference between a team film versus the new age superhero team up movie is the fact that you have characters that gravitate around essentially different and isolated worlds coming together. More explicit with the MCU with how you have characters that not only come from different backgrounds without similar origins with the MCU you have characters coming from worlds fleshed out in separate movies entirely.
What I hated the most in the movie is that they have overpowered Superman and at the end it felt like Superman could single handedly defeat stepenwolf while the rest of the team could enjoy the show 🍿🍿🍿
Exactly. Especially after building up the team and stating that they need to work together to win, having Superman wipe the floor just seems like a cop out
Literally the best comment! As a DC fan it's really getting stupid by them finshing off villains by just bringing in superman while the team turn into a useless shits.
Yeah he' spowerful - that's NOT THE POINT. The point is - it should've been the JL defeating Steppenwolf DESPITE all his power instead of just standing back whiel Superman saves the day. P.S. The Spidey movie had several irritating changes (making Flash a minority dude who's on the chess team?!) from the comics but was STILL A BETTER MOVIE.
Having such great strong character as superman die in a very sad way in Batman vs superman was a waste of time because he came back in the most stupid way and in most cringy way i really am disappointed and still gutted about it, they had the opportunity of a life time with those 2 films and they ruined it so badly
Evil Toad I have a suspicion that Snyder was going to follow the BvS structure and plop in Darkseid like he did with Doomsday, but Whedon probably cut that bit out. Good thing too, Darkseid will likely come later as a supervillain in a different movie.
I still don’t understand how DC had one of the greatest superhero movies in The Dark Knight and didn’t build up a universe until Marvel got the ball with it.. JL should’ve been like Infinity War with a strong cast full of already established heroes 🤦🏽♂️
Lowkey Matt that's not that easy they can't just reunite all the heroes at once they need to make movies of their story and find a way to include them and with the new Batman they can make a lot of movies with them like "The killing joke","Under the red hood" and more they need history to make the franchise good if they put all of them at once it would be the worst thing they have done, more worst then Deadpool from "X-Men Origins" i think thats the one with the Deadpool that everyone didn't like.
MrDuro09 I completely agree I’m sorry I didn’t add that into my comment, but indeed they need to establish themselves as separate entities FIRST then collaborate SECOND, not the other way around like hey have done so
Lowkey Matt true if dc had just took a leap of fate and build a universe out of The dark knight this marvel vs dc war would’ve gone very differently like maybe they’d even have like the cw tv shows crossover in the films which I would love tbh
It's because Nolan and Bale refused to acknowledge Batman exists in the DC Universe. They were pretty vocal about it, how they were making their own self-contained films. Which is a shame; if you're one of those "Gargh Superman could never exist in Nolan's Batman" people, then you really don't get that's why Batman works so well in the JL. So when someone like that gets put in charge of Batman, well, it's counterproductive.
One of my friends put it this way, It's the best mediocre movie you'll ever see. Went and saw it, and thought yeah it's not a bad film, it's got some structural issues for sure but it was still fun to watch. I wasn't absolutely bored and waiting for the credits like I was for Batman v Superman
Christian Bale and Christopher Nolan put a real high bar for Ben Affleck to clear. His personality, powers and intelligence are heavily underplayed making him look old and powerless to point where it's just convenient to not have him in the fight with other league members. What a shame DC. Destroyed everyone's favorite character.
Anish Somawar You are comparing oranges with carrots wich is pointless. Nolan Batman is set in a universe with no superpowered beings. DCEU Batman is old and world weary AND set in a universe with superpowered beings.. The exact reason why he cant compete although he did great in BvS.
Thats true but they are just starting in my personal opinion(sorry if my English is bad) Justice league: War will be epic that will be the movie that will make the diference, more heroes will unite forces and they will make better then future Infinity war (sorry if your a marvel fan i i don't mean to insult you this is just an opinion that as no intention to insult Marvel fan base, again sorry).
Just watch flashpoint paradox. As a MCU fans, damn thats movies (flashpoint) was excelent. Imo, its better than capt america civil war. Hopefully they will make this arc for flash movies later.
While I was watching the movie, I enjoyed it a lot. Thinking back on it, I noticed some of these complaints, but others not so much. I liked Cyborg, I think he should get a movie; team him up with Flash and it could be pretty fun. But yeah the CGI was distractingly bad at times, especially Superman's face in the reshoot scenes.
Louise Drake They had to know English how would have auditioned for the part LOL. J/k but for real it was still a little reckless. The name Batman probably easily translates.
I wouldn't say it was shit, but It was a bit overrated for the reason you mentioned, even though female heroes been around, in movies, tv shows and comics!!! WW tv show, supergirl TV show, 80's show and new show, Elektra, Catwoman, Ms Jupiter in Watchmen, Black widow, Jean Grey, Storm, Scarlet witch, Rogue, Gamora, Jessica Jones, etc. twitter don't seem to think anything existed before 2016
One thing I couldnt shake while watching the movie... It’s hard to make characters come off as special when literally all of them are dwarfed when Superman returns. Superman is shown to be just as fast as the flash. Stronger than WW and Aqua Man combined, and is intelligent like the Batman. So.... what’s the point of the justice league. Once resurrected, there’s no point or enough backstory to even care about the other heroes.
therealrickytan A fan of WW here and I felt the same thing. And thanks to Superman's distraction, the villain got the last box & succeeded in starting to ruin a part of the world.
Thats what annoys me the most about the movie. First of all, the powers where screwd up for good. Superman was just almighty while anybody els was like foot soldiers. Aquaman and WW are solo a little bit weaker then superman but not much and he owns the whole team single handedly. Also Batman made the JL to fight against intruders since Superman isnt alive anymore.... and how do they fight the first thread that arrives? They ressurect superman and he 2 shots the villan... That was so awefuly dissapointing.
no he is not... Wonderwoman and Aquaman are nearly equal in physical strenght with superman. And even if the writers intended to make him much stronger. Then whats the point of creating the Justice League when you need to revieve Superman either way.
Bahzelx lol No, they are not even close to his strength in the comics and they are obviously not in the movie, since you just saw that they are not. The Justice League is for global threats and for villains that are to powerful for Superman to defeat on his own.
I’m a MAJOR MCU fan but I’m also a fan of DC as well. I just don’t think it was the best movie and that there’s room for improvement. It has its flaws but there are things that are really good about it too. Marvel has PLENTY of flaws as well but that doesn’t mean either one is ruining superhero franchises. Both are brilliant and deserve plenty of praise.
Luke Jolly the point is. Just because dc character movies are bad doesnt mean its shit. U blame on their movies u blame the people who made it. Simple. U see look outside of the box rather than whats painted in everyones comments. Thick brain.
I really wished Cyborg just stayed on the Teen Titans, we all would rather have Martian Manhunter or Green lantern also yeah I don't like Affleck as Batman I'd love to see Gerard Butler as him.
DC's main problem, movie-wise, is that they keep picking directors who frankly don't understand the superheroes in their movies. They look at Batman and go, "That was great! Very dark and edgy and not at all like what I expected!" And then they decide dark and edgy is the way to go. But that kind of mood doesn't work for Superman or Wonder Woman or most other DC heroes. Making Superman dark and edgy is a monumental failure to the character. But they keep *doing* it! Marvel also took its own damn time establishing each and every primary member of the Avengers in their own movie (or two) before the Avengers movie ever went into production. All right, some were better than others, and some *did* better than others, but they didn't have to stuff a half-dozen origin stories into one movie. DC, however, has established Batman and Wonder Woman. Cyborg, Flash, Aquaman, and the villain all needed time devoted to showing who they were, time Avengers didn't need (except for their villain, of course). And while Justice League is all about showing why these heroes must band together, Avengers did so as simple zingers at the end of most of its preceding films, as Fury recruited the heroes under S.H.I.E.L.D. Marvel's method took more time, yes, and more movies, each with its own risks and rewards. But it allowed the writers to concentrate on the plot of each of those films, and by now they can tie each character into the central story with ease. DC tried to short-circuit the whole process, and as a result got a mess.
That is BS. We know who these characters are already unless you have been living under a rock in the past 60 years. The character develop of all the characters were fine because the world was at stake. Why else would they need these character to come together, what else should their motivation be? Everyone look at the marvel mode and think DC should have copy them. nope. We did not need everyone's back story or why they were superheroes, they only need a reason to become a team.
waleuska yes, you did need a real reason to give a shit about these characters. Storytelling 101. DCEU is a failure and you delusional DC hating Snyder apologists are the reason why.
likewise in justice league they fixed superman and now he is light and happy so they added that to batman as well. Also a monumental failure. Batman has only had a FEW moments in his entire collective works where he has either laughed or cracked some jokes and smiles. He is the one character that actually is supposed to be down and gloomy all the time. I loved the aquaman, flash stuff but Batman was just to light this time around.
I'm not suprised! I always feared that the plot and character development might be poor. It's just the trend in Hollywood these days. They try to compensate a poor story with cool action and CGI.
The flash is corny. Superman does not a mother cube to bring him back from the dead. Bad storyline. Tv, flash better than the movie flash. The tv flash can do.more with his powers, and all the movie flash does is run.
What i didn't like in JL is how they layed out their characters they focused more on certain characters! Batman looks useless in the movie. Their story is not really nice or enjoyable. I see how they wanted to lay out but they should have developed each characters more.. ALMOST like suicide squad! The CGI was overused
Ironic, overuse of CGI was exactly what everyone complained about in Green Lantern. Will they never learn? By contrast, Marvel uses CGI sparingly. Even when dealing with characters like the Hulk. Sure his body is mostly CGI, but the environment around him still looks like a traditional movie set. In Justice League, the environments, the villains, half the heroes, buildings, and the cars all look like CG. I mean, maybe it's just the color filtering they used to make the movie look so dark, but they did something that made the world seem less real.
Think their point was to introduce all these new characters, they're like, well, you know Batman, here's Aquaman, Cyborg and the Flash... enjoy, difference between this and Avengers, each major Avengers character had their own stand alone introduction movie long before they're brought together, cept Hawkeye and Black Widow, but you can't win them all... the Justice League was just rushed out, so silly, should have been staggered better, they should leave Marvel out of their equation, and just play their own game... Marvel has 19 movies i think, DC has 5 ish, forget catch up, forget comparisons, but... they can't
Michael Lee I agree and disagree. Marvel and DC have completely different tones. They shouldn't try to make the DCEU to be similar to the MCU. However, the CGI needs to be toned down. They looked like they blew charcoal onto the screen and overdo it.
Unfortunately, the only thing that I like in the movie was the visual effects. To be honest, it was awesome! How the amazonian in the trailer jumped out of the horse, when wonder women jumped of out the car and then the camera zoom out, and when they were fighting superman and flash wants to join them and realizes superman can catch his speed. Those were very epic moments that deserve to be mentioned.
Critics on BvS: Its too dark and gritty! Why isn't it colorful and fun like the Marvel films?! Critics on JL: Its too much like the Marvel films! Why can't they be original?!
+Alonzo Wolf - Warner Bros has hundreds of critically acclaimed movies, this has zero to do with the studio. +Ian Baily - Batman Vs Superman is the movie that coined the term "Murderverse" it took a brutal beating for it's tone and art style.
Justice League was good, but Thor: Ragnarok was much better. The flow was better, the humor was better even the special effects were better. I liked Justice League, but just not as much as Thor. While there were clearly references to Cyborg, Aquaman and Flash in B vs S, these characters were not as well developed as the Marvel characters - Even in the trailers, there was a lot more emphasis on Aquaman than Cyborg (Flash didn't need as much of a build up due to the TV series). They could have done without Cyborg and the movie would have been just as good. Steppenwolf was not a good villain either. Where the heck did he come from? Would have been better off with a more known villain. Now, Wonder Woman. I love her character and the way Gal Gadot portrays her: strong, intelligent, focussed, bad-ass and, last but not least, HOT! Seriously, though, I like how she is portrayed as a strong PERSON rather than eye candy - even Jason Mamoa's Aquaman is more eye candy with the topless scenes . . . though, he can generally hold his own in a scrap.
While I agree with all of your JL points, and while Ragnarok was better, that's a strange comparison to make. The two films may have had close releases, but Ragnarok was a comedy more than it was an action film.
And I feel when comparing a franchise that's had years to build on what they have while DC is more recent seems a bit unfair. Thats like saying how that 13 year old kid can beat up that 6 year old and to go on in length about his advantages in beating up a 6 year old. Of course he's going to win. He's bigger, has more experience and has had time to learn. I feel that people are bit too harsh on a movie I genuinely enjoyed and could find few major flaws with.
Part of the problem is that DC/WB chose that. They wanted Justice League as one of their first movies, so they could spin the characters off - rather the opposite of how Marvel had built and developed. What it left them with was too many demands on Justice League, without strong characters to support those demands.
Thor was a comedy(which makes no sense because thor was never really a joker) and a lot of it was SUUUUPER corny. Without Hulk Thor: Ragnarok is an average movie
They should have just kept Batman as a badass brute and almost crazy (like in BVS). Giving him a humorous or remorseful side throws away the coolest part of him in BVS and why so many liked him.
It could jave been great to have Batman resurrect Superman out of guilt, Supes be crazy and be THE antogonist for the JLA to fight against in entire movie. It would have shown that the team were his equals and at the end, give Supes hope that he didn't have to bear burden alone.
Yeah but so many people complained about Batman being too dark, that he needed to be humorous. They gave him some humor and people still are complaining. People just want that garbage Disney/Marvel Formula.
what makes The Avengers a more cohesive movie and team is that while all of the members are NOT Hulks or Thors they all play a niche but necessary role. Superman basically plays all the roles and occasionally throws one or two to Batman. Why the fuck even have Aquaman, Wonder Woman, and Flash if Superman is faster, stronger, and invulnerable? Why have Cyborg if Batman is just as smart. In the Avengers, Iron Man is the brains, Captain America is the tactician/strategist, Black Widow is the better fighter and intel/spy, Thor and Hulk are the big guns. The moment they revived SUperman the movie was over. He was throwing Stephen Wolf around like a ball while Wonder Woman (was underpowered) and Aquadman could barely delay him.
That is quite a balanced account. Supe cannot, or shouldn't, be beaten by anyone or anything. I didn't read the comics so I'm no expert on his adversaries. But then, he must have had decent ones because otherwise it would just be about him trying to get into Lois's knickers!!
Brandon Chandler no, that’s the point. Thor and Hulk are almost as equally strong. Hulk is stronger, but Thor and Hulk can coexist in the group as virtually equals and play very similar roles (the last resorts). In the comics and in the movies one never truly beats the other and they are always at a stand still. In justice league Superman man handled all of them. He is the Hulk and Diana (Wonder Woman) is Thor. Superman is stronger than Wonder Woman but not so much that Wonder Woman couldn’t stall him. Get what I mean? Wonder Woman has been depicted in comics as being strong enough to break Superman’s limbs and stop him in his tracks. But here she was more on par with Aquaman and Aquaman is not nearly as strong and either of them in his original depiction. Idk to me it was a HUGE disservice to the movie’s plot and the characters to have Superman come in and literally punch Stephen Wolf around like a fucking ball while Wonder Woman and Aquaman couldn’t even lift this guy off the ground with their combined strength. That’s why I say the movie was basically over the moment Superman was revived.
martinumber1 OH, I see what you mean, and it did take some impact away from it, but I wouldn't say it was over from then since there was some good scenes after.
To be fair Wonder Woman has always been portrayed as weaker than Superman. They often balance it with Superman restraining himself much more, and Wondder Woman being much more agressive due to her growing up in a warrior culture (+ a few magic artefacts).
When Bruce Wayne first encountered aquaman he couldn’t understand the language the natives spoke although he can speak over 23 different languages, secondly he could of used much more of his explosive batarang to take down multiple enemies at once instead for struggling one or two, aquaman seemed a bit underpowered when it came to his abilities, Wonder Woman was perfect, flash did an ok job, and cyborg character was cool except for the CGI, lastly superman fought well, it’s actually the first time in a movie he kicked ass without getting smacked down
But that's what I hate about this movie more so than anything. Only WW was good in her role. I really hated the scene where Aquaman was sitting on the lasso. He was like the Thor, but now he will never be the Thor. Barely any character was written at their best in a movie where the events were obvious because it was a collectathon. But that's just me. Batman definitely shouldn't have struggled against 2 parademons. He already stopped one at the beginning and he had prep time. PREPTIME!
My only problem is Batman. Everything about him pisses me off. The jokes, uselessness in fights, and openly showing his emotion. He doesn't seem true to character at all
I thought the movie was badass and I loved the CGI it was very well done in my opinion that is. My only complaint was Cyborg was there just because he’s a Justice League member he had no personality or anything.
Definitely I think it was ok Compared to Suicide squad and BvS not saying much.... The Idea Justice league was setup in BvS by Lex Luthor there is no way he'd know... Seems like the director told him and forgot to remind himself when he was making it.
Don't know where you would get that. It had funny moments, a clear plot line, an evolving villain, and a cast of characters that were unique and awesome. Aquaman was a badass. Batman had trouble connecting with people. And the Flash to me was hilarious. Hell I even enjoyed the self struggling cyborg. Guess it's just differing opinions.
The Villan didn't Evolve which most I guess don't really less we're talking Netflix Series or maybe just maybe Spartacus.... Aquaman was cast Great he wasn't Utilized though they could of had a fight at some lake right. His reasoning for Joining and having a change of heart was simply cause when it could of been I gotta find this big bad hey Bruce he managed to find me well he can definitely find him. The Flash was good I was surprised cause I really didn't think I'd get past the Bulky Uni.... However they should of made him a bit more experienced tripping over a step you definitely had enough time to see is just bad writing... The Idea JL was setup in BvS is Ludicrous when there is no supporting evidence Which is probably the biggest problem with it and they had ways of doing it they just simply didn't. They could of made mention in Wonder Woman although still doesn't give any reason Lex would know less the Director told him.
I agree, because Marvel has put over a decade into their project DC is trying to play catch up and they just can't measure up. Making the movies rushed with no time for real character development. We had no indication of where this movie was going after Batman Vs Superman and if you really aren't a DC fan you have no idea who the villain is. It was a good movie but because this is Marvel's competitor they have to do more and it's unfair but hey.
Marvel had to "put over a decade into their project" because no one knew who Iron Man was ... no one cared that much about Thor as a comic book character. Their origins and motivations had to be explained, but DC's trinity--Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman-- literally everyone knows who they are. Did Superman need a movie for everyone to know his powers and what he stands for? No, because he's a pop culture icon and has been for years and years. Same with Batman and Wonder Woman. You don't *need* movies to understand who they are. Justice League's problem wasn't a lack of understanding of the main heroes; it came down to the studio not trusting Zack Snyder's vision (because of how much critics HATED how it diverged from MCU's bright, poppy style). Warner Bros even brought in Joss Whedon, the Avengers director, to do $25 MILLION DOLLARS WORTH of reshoots. And he reshot it to feel more like the Avengers, even including the same tired gags he used in that franchise too, like Flash falling into Wonder Woman's cleavage ala Hulk and Black Widow in Age of Ultron. So much was cut or reshot with this film, and the tone of the film flipping back and forth between different director's styles, that I don't even know how to feel about it. I want to say I like it, but I think I liked its potential more than what we got. We really need a cut of the film free of reshoots. Snyder's cut.
Allison Summer Finally, someone who understands! I'm tired of Marvel fans pretending to be a fan of "Both DC and Marvel" in the comment sections and bashing DC at the same time.Hypocrites.
They haven't developed their heroes for this new audience. You can't expect people to go out and read comics months before the major production drops. Marvel has been very successful at giving each hero a personality that the new audience can know and love. For instance someone will die in infinity war and my girlfriend will be devastated when they do. if someone were to die in JL she wouldn't care. Also, Marvels after credit scenes have consistently given us something to look forward too. It makes us anxious to see what and where these scenes lead to. DC has a lot to learn if they want to be a household name in the superhero movie generation we have today.
Allison Summer you don't just need to know there stories to develop characters. Also this is weird but was I the only one who hated the flash in this film?
I hated how Ezra Miller ran in the entire film. He was a great addition and his comic timing is good but the way he runs. Ok i understand he was kinda skating or something but why the f does he not run like how any person runs. I hated that skating / running 😤😡
Debasish Roy -- I have to agree...and wonder if A) Ezra Miller might not be naturally athletic, or B) maybe the costume's construction might have been a hindrance to his natural movement...
I enjoy the movie But They dint show DARKSEID DAMMIT.... And also Dc should make a Red hood ,teen titans, robin all 5,or focuz on other character on the dcu
Pure nitpicking...I mean they complain about a moustache?...and yes Stepphenwolfe is not a memorable or great villan but he's only a henchman.. an excuse to bring the team together...we all know that Darkseid is the Big Deal... At least Stepphenwolfe's motivations are more clear and better than that Guy Pearce's villan from IRONMAN3(ELECTRO FROM AS2 KIND OF VILLAN)...and even Ultron wasn't that Great as a Villan but critics loves AV2...wtf?
To be fair Ironman 3 gets alots of hate about its villans and its kinda deserved. Justice league's villan being shit and unimposiing just makes the gravity of the situation and reason to come together seem less important. I likes this film is my fav DCEU one but even im finding it to lack consiquences like all marvel filmls do nowdays
But that being said it's inconsistent. Irl a dude doesn't get to act Smug, Moody, and Self Absorbed and just show up one day with a smile and make everyone just forget that he sucks.
Have you ever died, stayed dead for months, then suddenly and unexpectedly come back to life? Can you explain what that will do to you, emotionally? There's a fiiiiine line between "campy af" and "heartfelt and meaningful" and I think JL walked it about as well as could be expected.
Ayenate' Lawson While I understand what you're saying I really don't want to suffer through another movie with an emo Superman. So yes, I'm perfectly happy with the smile and let's forget what happened approach.
cgarciahfcu Not what I think. In this one he is comic book superman. In the other ones he was more complex and more deep. It made him more realistic and human
One of the most iconic shots they removed from the movie in the theater and shown in the trailer. Was the glass trembling scene as a reference to Jurassic Park with the T-rex, when Superman came to Alfred.
Bec he came back in a shitty way, without the drama & sense of hope like in Death of Superman. Movie was way too rushed. And oh yea, they passed on the black suit. Dumbest move ever.
The movie was good. Only real issue was they make Superman seem more stronger than Stepenwolf, and it becomes more of "Superman and his Pals" than the Justice League. Plus it's obvious you havn't seen it yet but Superman's personality change is a bit over stated, but it makes sense. Go back to Batman vs Superman. Superman was a beacon of hope, and humanity turned on him and betrayed him, and it ultimately cost him his life, so yeah he has a right to be mad.
Stepphenwolf in any forms in media was ever a match for Superman. The only person who should be giving him a huge run for his money is the big man himself Darkseid. Thats when more roles will be played. Superman in this film was more like the superman in comics and animated shows, optimistic, bright and hopeful. Versus the last two iterations of him where hes more aggressive and somewhat moapy.
I actually enjoyed the more aggressive portrayal. For the longest I didn't care for Superman as a character because he had all the power in the world, but didn't stop anything. Just like how Batman was portrayed in The Dark Knight series. Heith Ledger basically says there's one sure way to stop me, and that's by breaking you're one rule, so break it. That's why I like Affleck's Batman: he actually kills someone. I'm not saying that's the answer for everything, but how many need to die just so someone can be the good moral guy.
They didn't "make" Superman seem stronger then Stepenwolf, he IS stronger. He's always been. It would've been much worse to change this for the sake of a movie. From that side, Darkseid himself is the only one on Superman's level. Stepenwolf is closer to Wonder Woman's level.
+Terran499 "Didnt stop anything" Hes stopped multiple alien invasions and well as multiverse ending events...what are you talking about. And some times that are villains that are stronger or as strong as him. In Comics and movies Superman KILLS Doomsday because thats just an insane monster.
He has yet to kill Lex Luthor, even though Lex is responsible for multiple deaths and that would stop him once and for all, course that would ruin story lines
Only thing I didn't like about the movie was how weak Wonder Woman and Aquaman were in the movie, especially compared to superman. Isn't Wonder Woman supposed to be a god?
TheRedemblem yeah she's a goddess but I think they had to make steppenwolf look more powerful. I hated how she got tossed around. I was like damn Diana use ur fist u have super strength!
TheRedemblem bruh ofc hes going to be stronger than them , thats the main reason they brought him back , and ww is just weak compared to superman she was never close to him to begin with and aquamans weak because hes on land but compared to superman hes still pretty weak
I wasn't really bothered by it. Seems like an odd thing to nitpick about. I agree with most of the other issues. In the end though, its a comic book movie. As long as it isnt ridiculously horrible, we'll all have a good time, if only in spots.
I saw it twice... First time, I made the mistake of reading about the mustache so I definitely saw it. The second time (yesterday) It didn't even bother me and the more I thought Supes and the gang were awesome! Gonna see it a 3rd time.
Mig Yeba how he was strong , he had a goal, he had a army, he had a weapon, he was mixed in with the amazons , so he wasnt just thrown in the movie, he was pretty good , and it helped show how strong superman is and how important he is
12345 67890 I wanted him to be more unique, not just a super villain with generic traits, now I’m in no way hating on the movie, I loved it I’m just saying that I thought steppenwolf could’ve been even greater, showing how aggravated he is at having to serve his nephew and maybe even his anger at what he is and how he works for his nephew. Some uniqueness is what I wanted from him.
I was really irked by how they continued Wonder Woman’s story by saying that she spent a whole century laying low after the events of her movie. When Honest Trailers and Nostalgia Critic made jokes about her sitting out on events like the Holocaust and Stalin, I was hoping the movies would later show more adventures with her after WWI, but no; the movies have now established that one of the most badass female superheroes ever, not to mention the main character of the DCEU’s only truly critically well-received movie so far, spent a whole century just going about her ways and mourning ONE GUY. The fact that she was one of the best things of the Justice League movie is probably the only thing that kept her appearance in it from completely derailing the character
its obvious they wanna bring Darkseid in the next movie. Which in my opinion is a bad idea just because Darkseid is too similar to Thanos, and will look to the regular moviegoer (not everyone reads comics)like they are copying MCU. When i heard of a JLA movie i instantly thought of Starro. Sure a Starfish is not really a terrifying villain but something like that wasn´t really there before, also enough potential for some good oneliners.
It doesn't take a marketing genius to realise Nolan gave the perfect path to follow with the Dark Knight trilogy. In opposition to the "funny, entertaining" super hero blockbusters Marvel propose, they had the esthetic, realistic, grim super hero genre. Aaaaaaaand for a weird reason decide to fuck it all up with dumb boom boom CGI movies with weak plots, awful character development and questionable directors choices. Snyder could have been the perfect cast if he were able to serve us other Watchmen material. Apparently those days are over.
Problem is, Marvel's stuff is bland too. They just barely got to correct the drowned in grey footage in their latest movies, and it's just cheezy comical, joking stuff all over the place with totally detached destruction and massacres. Watchmen was a sort of disaster at the box office (too complicated apparently) and mixed critics too. Marvel also has a lot of darker heroes, and they're all on Netflix, way more down to earth, more relatable. The avengers movies and other marvel properties suck just as bad as these DC movies iuf we're objective about them. It's just that marvel has more candy coating.
I don't agree with you. On a cinematic pov Marvels are really good (except for the vilains who are mostly pretty boring). Some are complete shits of course but a lot are entertaining : i had good laugh with Guardians, the last Thor, Ironman 1, Avengers... Characters are mostly well developed and nuanced with deep plot and conflicts (Ironman PTSD, Thor family and adoption of loki, ego with Strange, etc...), that makes them interesting and relatable. You want to follow their ventures and evolution. They can make fun of themselves (Deadpool mocking the green lantern). Those movies interact well together as a whole, and work on their own. They are well directed (battle of the Valkyries was jaw breaking in the last Thor, Luis storytelling in Antman) and enjoyable. As far as blockbuster goes Marvels are really good movies. I'm not saying they are perfect...But they put a lot in them which make them work really fine.
You can't do a Nolan-verse with any DC character that is above street level. If you're going to Nolan-fy any DC characters the best is to make a Batman universe since the heroes like Red Robin, Nightwing, and Redhood can be done realistically and cherry pick villains or downplay them. Obviously no Poison Ivy, Killer Croc, or any supernatural villains. You could do Riddler, Penguin, Falcone, and even Freeze. But that's it. Why do you think MoS had both Nolan and Snyder? Because Nolan gave it that darker, but more "realistic" concept to Superman while Snyder directed everything else from action to visuals since Nolan is more "grounded".
Florent Devier Did the battle of the Valks play out? I thought it was like the story telling of Ares' betrayal of the gods in Wonder Woman with the storybook visuals.
If you look at the reasoning for why critics panned this movie, it was mainly due to how it wasn't brave, it didn't swim in dangerous seas, just stood side by side with the light hearted tone of avengers, we want a visual style unique one that stands out from the crowd
I enjoyed it, but I can see why critics have slaughtered it. Sloppy editing does tend to be a grievance for them and it shows in this movie enough to be a major distraction.
I really think the movie is a disappointment because so many important plots have been cut because the stupid CEO ordered the movie to be less than 2 hours runtime. If they would show another 10 minutes of Flash origin, 20 minutes of Aquaman backstory, and another 10 minutes of plot tie-ups (110 minutes + 40 minutes = 150 minutes = 2.5 hours), it would be a great movie.
David C I give the movie 7.5/10 and I 100% agreed it would of been better if they didn't cut the damn film, it's literally suicide squad/bvs all over again they cut important scenes, They better show all of justice league extended cut because the lie they told us when suicide squad extended cut came out I was shook
It was also originally intended to be a two part film. Since some scenes felt rushed and Steppenwolf wasn’t really given a lot of screen time to really establish his character, the extra hours could have helped. Hell, we could have even gotten a Darkseid cameo and not just a mention of his name.
I actually enjoyed And got hooked in more when Superman was a “Villian” for a little time , that part of movie was so interesting He made a better villain than Steppenwolf 😅😅 , he had no layers or depth as villain , Take ZOD in Man is steel for example, he was one of the best villains so much layers, complexity and even reasoning where we were like “yeah I get why is he acting like that for the sake of his people “ now that makes a great villain ,
The DCEU is suffering from an identity issue it doesn't know if its wants to be dark or light in tone or not. Make up your mind already or scrap the whole "Extended Universal" thing and go back to making stand lone comic book movies again.
Elvin Solano I'd argue the issue is more that they're highly reactionary and as a result, a lot if their creative decisions thatcshpupd be in the hands of artists are made by executive committee.
I wish they would just stick to the dark tone. Its what the universe started out as. Changing it now would be the same level as Marvel making Ragnarok into a comedy
if people are so triggered about reviewers reviewing movies....why do they subscribe to a movie review channel? It's okay too enjoy critically panned movies. it's okay to enjoy kitsch lowest common denominator movies. it's okay to like big bang theory and the mission impossible and the Batman movies. but what you don't get to do, is bitch and moan when someone else doesn't like it. "they're superhero movies" aaaand? we know because we've seen superhero movies, that they can be insightful and relatable and have a message and have depth and be well written with great character development and plot advancement, and still be about flying people and aliens. Just because a film isn't a drama, or is supernatural and fantasy. that doesn't excuse it from mediocrity. you're perfectly entitled to enjoy mediocrity, everyone's tastes are different and truly that is okay, but that doesn't mean the film wasn't made in a rush solely and exclsyivky to make money for the studio and they know if they pander to the largest dumbest audience possible they can make a shit movie and still bring in millions.
I liked the movie. Better than BvS but there were things that were bad. The CGI. The ending kinda meh. Affleck's batman trying to be funny (I mean, I dont mind funny but batman is supposed to be stern and brooding most of the time) Superman's weird character swap (I get it though they were supposed to prepare black suit sups but got cut short). But hey I still enjoyed it and still redeemable.
justice not done with this movie....too many cuts & war between directors of justice league movie destroyed movie....many details of superheroes missing in movie
Good point, the problems with JL you have mentioned shows it and the other movies were rushed to compete with Marvel. The whole thing was practically a knee-jerk reaction to Marvel and their success with their cinematic universe. DC needs to drop WB and go a different route.
Who gives a damn what critics think. It's the audience that pays out of their pockets. It's the audience that is the determining factor whether the movie is going to make it's money back. Movies are made to please the audience. The majority of audiences love this movie, which heavily out numbers critics. Yet for some reason critics have such a huge influence.. For what?
Hunter And Darion yeah but so far man, the audience is speaking... It has been reported to lose around 100 million dollars. Meaning it seems they'll have spent more making it than they will get back. So ... Thats bad. And thats down to audience
The budget of the film was 300 million dollars, and Forbes posted that holiday weekend Justice League made 400 million dollars world wide. They've definitely made their money back already. But super bias "critics" want to always pump some bs into the air about how bad it is. Looking at the facts tells the complete opposite. This film is totally a success.
+The Unknown Psycho Coco won a lot of awards because there was not much good animated films this year, apart from Lego Batman which i think is a better film than Coco. And Captain Underpants was good, but it's not too popular tbh.
I liked it. I didn't really cared about the critics but it's true that superman is overpowered in this movie. Superman shouldn't be that powerful fighting both wonder woman and aquaman. He's also a bit as fast as flash in this movie.
Mason Wright being stronger doesn't mean he has to wipe the floor with them all together what's the point of the team if superman can do the job by himself.
power levels are based on plot in these movies, they had supergirl beat superman on her show!! thor has be under powered in the movies!! but in this case, flash is just starting out and superman is the most powerful Justice league member!! he was created to be overpowered!! read some comics!!
News: The critics hate a DC movie. Also news: water is wet. Too many critics are in the pocket of Disney to ever give a DCEU movie it's due. If I went only to movies praised by critics, I would fall sleep at the cinema very often.
Why would they not? CGI can be great, but in the case of JL where so much of it is so poorly done it actually takes you out of the movie then it deserves to be criticised. If we can make a fucking truck turning into a giant flying robot look believable, there is absolutely no excuse for the CG in JL to be so bad.
Thankful u say.. we as audience pay good price to see that giant red blur in action scenes. A consumer just cares about the final product. It's not our fault that WB can't get their shit under control
Didn't really like the justice league. They pretty much just showed that every super hero is helpless until superman comes along. They really couldn't have done anything without him, he can do anything that they can but better
Here is what's wrong with Superman's return. If you make a movie about Jesus Christ and you bring him back to life with surgery and CPR those people who have read the bible will laugh at you and hate you. This is exactly what they did in Justice League.
What's wrong with Superman's return was that they resorted to some sort of Kryptonian VOODOO to bring him back. In the original comic book death of Superman he wasn't dead, but simply in a sort of Kryptonian coma. Instead of all the Hocus Pocus, they should've dug him up and taken him to someplace like Death Valley where he could soak up a bunch of sunlight and revive.
one critic gave it a negative review cause aquaman wore jeans. So we can ignore the fact that Thor escaped on a sexy orgy ship but you gotta say something negative about aquaman in clothes. I see now.
I enjoyed the film. I can't wait for the second film. Didn't like " man of steel". " Batman v superman" was ok. I hope they keep the same actors when they make these films. It's so frustrating when Studios change actors.
Ryan Johnson Man of Steel>BvS>>>JL in my opinion. Justice league could have been a 9/10 movie but then WB and Joss Whedon appeared and everything went to hell
The only thing I was put off by was the absence of Green Lantern. We did get a sight of the Green Lantern in the flashback of Steppenwolf's first invasion. That was nice but brings forward the question that if Green Lanterns existed back then, then where is he now?
ClassyNova well it's different because casting a tony hawk would require knowing how to skate because that would be in the film. For justice league we never actually see Ezra run because the flash doesn't require an actual man running. I can't explain it well but with the flash we really just see his lightning speed, however if Ezra didn't know the correct form for running, that would be a big deal.
THATS MY POINT~!! Miller doesnt-know-how-to-run!@ If you are going to CAST someone who RUNS VERY FAST, you need to get an ACTOR who at least KNOWS how to RUN! The comparison for Tony Hawk was SUPPOSED to be a VERY CLEAR COMPARISON, which you are VERY confused about. ALRIGHT, how about I make a BETTER comparison then since you are having an issue with sarcasm and comparisons in GENERAL. You wouldnt hire an ACTOR who couldnt SWIM to play AQUAMAN now would you? GOOD THING Jason Mamoa is a native Hawaiin and not ONLY swims very well BUT also SURFS very well! (That was in the movie for direct comparison!)
ClassyNova apparently what i understand from interviews is that this version of flash doesnt actually run but skips around which is pretty damn weird and thats why it looks like that
Wait...WHAT? Since the CREATION of the flash....he...RUNS FAST...there is nothing bout skipping, rolling, tossing, cartwheeling, or anything LIKE that, he moves fast and in RUNNING, he is supposed to LOOK LIKE he is running...not...skipping. Even beyond THAT watch the movie where you say he is "skipping" he is RUNNING through streets and through the sewer system...not skipping,
They were just bringing us in to the character. He would eventually of been the Lex we all know just like Superman would of become the Sups we all know and Love. The fans are gas though, they are crying about Superman not been right and Lex not been right yet are crying that DC are rushing. If people just stopped complaining and hating and just went along for they ride and see where it fairs out DC would not be in such a mess.
Nobody is complaining about Superman casting, but Eisenberg Lex Luthor was indeed pathetic I mean he thought he would comeout like heath Ledgers joker but turned out most ridiculous part of Bat Vs Super movie. Never ever Lex Luthor or any Comic Book character has been so badly cast or played, best Lex Luthor was actually played By Kevin Spacey in the badly made Superman returns. But its well known Eisenberg got the part because of his hollywood connections.
Lex Luthor should be quietly menacing, like you are afraid that if you say the wrong thing he will have you killed. I just want to slap Eisenberg's Luthor. He isn't even slightly menacing.
If those movies got good reviews then maybe this would have been worth posting. Do a quick google search before posting. You'll end up looking like an idiot if you don't.
Well I don't like the The Fast and the Furious movies but they are liked because they are dumb action movies. For the DCEU films like Justice League it seems DC apaolgists are trying to have it both ways. First they say DC is better than Marvel because DC has more serious stories and has a deeper meaning like Superman being a metaphor for Jesus. That critics can't understand the complexity of Batman v Superman. Now with Justice League people are saying critics are harsh because critics don't appreciate it being a straight forward action movie. I don't get it. Sorry you can't have it both ways
All the DC fanboys/girls have GOT to give it up. Enough with the excuses, Snyder didn't get to make the film he wanted, blah blah blah. The bottom line is the only DCEU film that's gotten it right so far is WW, period. They made Aquaman some wise-cracking hipster surfer dude from an 80s teen flick, Cyborg and Flash were cool but that fist-bump thing was damn-near racist lol, WW was underutilized and they sort of just rushed Superman in for a last second save. WB's is doing a rushjob to play catchup with the Avengers while the "superhero thing" is still in and it's showing, period. Take some time to learn the history, work on character development and what made WW work so well and get back to the drawing board or they'll always be playing second fiddle. At this point it looks like Black Panther's first film is going to completely stomp out a film that had five of the most popular comic book characters of all time, THAT'S saying something.
dawb86 "fist bump thing was damn-near racist"? If Cyborg was white it would be normal, right? To me it was kinda funny, when they finally did the fist bump at the end of the movie.
H. Art I'm assuming you're not black, lol. It was awkward as hell and served no purpose outside of the fact he was doing it with a black character, which is why I call it racist because that's what is oddly enough SUPPOSED to be the joke here. That's why Cyborg looks at him the way he does when Flash tries it the first time. If Cyborg was white, they just wouldn't have written the joke, you see what I'm getting at?
dawb86 No. If Cyborg was white, this joke still would come. Because it came from Flash, not Cyborg. So then its because of Flash, who is white, and this joke was about how lonely he is... You just misunderstood it because of characters race.
No. I was kidding calling it "racist" in my first comment but u think that joke would've come because u can't perceive them doing something like that. We have homophobic, racially-charged, sexist jokes/remarks that fly over our heads all the time because it depends on which angle you're watching the situation from. You're telling me I misunderstood and I just explained how Cyborg looks at Flash (if you recall) the first time he tries to do it. It's not because he thinks he's a weirdo. It's BECAUSE he's looking like "oh, I'm supposed to be cool with giving you a pound because I'm black?" Later, when they are now "cool" with one another, he does. Think about it, wouldn't it have been MORE awkward for him to ask for something corny like a high-five? WE justify things to cut the tension of possible political incorrectness.
Wonder Woman which Zack Snyder produced and the Story was by Zack Snyder, which he gets credit for in the movie credits. Joss Whedon ruined Justice League(not Snyder) and Snyder's intended BvS the ultimate Cut was cut by half an hour. All the main plot points were wiped from the movie. So would you not be pissed if you were a fan???? What about Marvel making Spidy's suit like Ironman's? That was ok i suppose? Or what about what Marvel did with Mandarin? I suppose that's ok also? I suppose it's ok for Marvel to totally F**K a character up without anyone blinking an eyelid?
Face it, critics are just biased towards Marvel and not into DC, and this comes from a guy who loves these 2 companies, but srsly, all the critics say that JL has a shitty villain and bad cgi. While that can be true, so is many marvel movies especially thor3. But all the critics address JL's problems and as for thor, nobody cares about thor3's problems. So..have i proven my point? Btw batfleck is still great
I_am_Masquerade RJ she definitely wasn't a bad villain. She was an underdeveloped villain though. It wasn't standard bland marvel villain fare, but it wasn't a fully fleshed out character either and frankly It's the actress in the role that makes her above most of the other villains. She's great for what she needed to be, but that's it. She's way better tuan Steppenwolf (I still have no jdea why they made a lackey at best into a leading villain for the first Justice League movie), but that doesn't make Hela the greatest villain ever. Hela is miles better than most of her competition at Marvel, but she's not great. She's just "really good" for what we've had and it entirely comes down to the quality of the performance that sets her apart from the rest. In the hands of a less talented actress, Hela could have only been slightly above average instead of noticeably better. The problems in Thor: Ragnorok aren't all as noticeable as they are in Justice League, but the point is that the problems in JL are made out to be experience destroying when they're not and most of the flaws in Ragnorok, some of which are the sake as Justice League's to a lesser extent, are largely ignored altogether. The point being made isn't so much that Thor is bad and JL is good or even vice versa, It's the hypocrisy of both having a few similar problems to varying degrees of severity and one movie having those problems being elevated and noticed more than they deserved while the other's faults are quickly forgiven and largely burhsed aside.
Tyler Worsham I get it that she isn't a joker lvl villain but she is a good villain regardless of what her competition is and there's no point in talking about scenarios where she isn't played by the same actress because that isn't what happened. Plus Hela had enough character development in the movie to show what kind of a person she is and that's why people are claiming that she's a really good villain.
I'm a fan of any comic book movie. But if you want to defend mediocrity, then you'll get a downward spiral of shitty movies and no one to blame but yourself. Like a movie because it's good, not mediocre and "good enough"
I honestly am not big or very knowledgeable with dc or marvel or anything, but I loved the movie. Just stop being "sheep" and listening to other people's opinions. Just watch the movie.... there's plenty of movies that I really love that movie critics have bad ratings on.
It is not the norm or mainstream at all to listen to the opinion of film critics, so nobody's really a sheep if they stay away from this movie because of teh reviews.
J. R. I have. Hated it. But that's just me. I'd stop thinking people who agree with bad review are sheep or haven't seen it. I'd probably say it's fanboys who are in denial or not being objective.
I agree with you J.R. Having said that, this movie tastes like shit. I'd rather watch Suicide Squad than this tbh. My favorite DCU movie is still BvS, i genuinely hope in the future we will re-valuate this movie (BvS). I mean Citizen Kane aka "the most influential movie of all time" got heavily criticized and neglected until like a decade later, then it became the greatest. So yeah, never say never.
There was no human interaction at all!! No police, no military, no people at all but the main characters. Was they on earth?
Whatcha mean isnt batman human; )
At 1hr50m, you want the film to focus even less on the Justice League?
ROCK USA nitpicking just went to sky high levels here 😂
I agree! Man of steel was way better
I am pretty sure I saw Justice League. I am not 100% sure though because I can't remember anything from the movie. It is that forgettable.
My family sat down yesterday to watch it and had totally forgotten that we had watched it the other day
There was none in Avengers Infinity.
Exactly.
I thought exactly the same. But don't lose heart. If DC does not give up, then JL 2 will be awesome. By then all the important characters will be fleshed out.
Ok so what about GOTG?
All this is true. But there's much more
They turned Diana into a sex object, and made the entire build up of Actually needing a team USELESS as they made Clark easily solo the team and villian
i think the sex object idea is you projecting. i didn't see that at all. the build up of needing a team was practical as no individual except superman could have saved the day and he was dead, so at the beginning their goal was make a team and save the day but then even as a team they weren't good enough. this resulted in them needing to think outside the box and bringing superman back was the only way to win.
True. JL was stupid. At least it tried to be distracting and fun, otherwise we would've died in the theater haha
Have people forgotten about the X-Man movies?
Why does everyone act like the first time a supergroup got together was the avengers?
The X-Men were introduced as already an established team, whereas The Avengers and The Justice League were assembled during the movie. The group mechanics in Avengers and JL are nothing like the X-Men, so it's totally pointless to compare these to that obviously.
Ábel Farkas agreed
Its the same with wonder woman and Black Panther
Ábel Farkas dude dumb af
So true. Cant deny that #whatsthepointofgatheringthemsuperheroes #whentheressuperman 🙊
He was not overpowered. He is just Superman.
I swear i didn't even notice the Superman 'stache until I read about it after seeing the movie.
I noticed it right away. I had to Google what was wrong with his face while I was in the theater
You're probably blind.
Anvilarm07 I heard about it, then I watched the movie, I kinda noticed it. I question why they just didn't remove it.
He wasn't allowed to, he was bound by a contract from another project
Shiv NiceGuy That's crazy. They should have just had Tom Welling play Superman.
What critics hated about justice league... everything
F the critics, the movie was good
It was trash
and that is not even an overstatement
Murphy Itzyue No watch the movie for yourself and stop sucking critics
bossdog bossdog compared to Infinity War it's junk.
Dc just needs a non CGI villain
Gravivector I really like Lex Luther though.
#GINGERPRIDE
They already have one - unfortunately he's Zack Snyder and he's behind the screen sabotaging the movies - not in front of it!
rigo tejeda They have plenty too choose from. I really hope they get to them in the later movies.
rigo tejeda no stay cgi for awhile. Bring in Starro the conqueror.
rigo tejeda Zod?
the whole "death of Superman" subplot was, as always, an idiotic waste of time.
JStarStar00 and they got superman dead two time in bvs . lol
JStarStar00 I agree, they should have done it with dark side and give Superman’s black suit but noooo
@@calebdejesus577 you are waste of time
@@Aaron-kz6ie your comment is a waste of time
Having such great strong character as superman die in a very sad way in Batman vs superman was a waste of time because he came back in the most stupid way and in most cringy way i really am disappointed and still gutted about it, they had the opportunity of a life time with those 2 films and they ruined it so badly
I was slightly annoyed by the fact that Steppenwolf literally said "for Darkseid" and then we never even saw Darkseid for a single second
Yeah. I was hoping one of the two (?) post-credit sequences would be a reveal
Evil Toad I have a suspicion that Snyder was going to follow the BvS structure and plop in Darkseid like he did with Doomsday, but Whedon probably cut that bit out. Good thing too, Darkseid will likely come later as a supervillain in a different movie.
Evil Toad starro the conqueror should've been the main super villain.
qadowsh drake darkseid will be in the upcoming justice league movies. maybe part 2 or 3. just like avengers
Andrew T thanks
Truer words have never been spoken
One of my friends put it this way, It's the best mediocre movie you'll ever see.
Went and saw it, and thought yeah it's not a bad film, it's got some structural issues for sure but it was still fun to watch. I wasn't absolutely bored and waiting for the credits like I was for Batman v Superman
railerswim exactly
Straight Facts
I felt the same, it was fun to watch but should be fucking epic....not just fun to watch
Well can you go and break it down at least?
It was like watching an animated episode of the Justice league cartoon series.
You mean the fact that he wasn't using plot armor bs to somehow fight.
John Man Complaining about plot armor in a comic book universe about superheroes.. lol
Anish Somawar Batfleck > Baleman
Anish Somawar blame WB
Anish Somawar You are comparing oranges with carrots wich is pointless. Nolan Batman is set in a universe with no superpowered beings. DCEU Batman is old and world weary AND set in a universe with superpowered beings.. The exact reason why he cant compete although he did great in BvS.
DC animations have better plot, story, characters development than the movies
who can forger The Flashpoint Paradox
or
justice league war
other than man of steel and wonder woman but dceu can't get it right! maybe aquaman can give a little life into it but who knows.
Mohamed Omar Finally someone gets me
DCU
Just watch flashpoint paradox. As a MCU fans, damn thats movies (flashpoint) was excelent. Imo, its better than capt america civil war. Hopefully they will make this arc for flash movies later.

Miss yippie my girl is that ok to say or is that rude
When thanos said stfu dc fanboy i was like “YES”
While I was watching the movie, I enjoyed it a lot.
Thinking back on it, I noticed some of these complaints, but others not so much.
I liked Cyborg, I think he should get a movie; team him up with Flash and it could be pretty fun.
But yeah the CGI was distractingly bad at times, especially Superman's face in the reshoot scenes.
One thing that really bothered me was that Lois calls Kal 'Clark' right in front of a cop. So Superheroes not have secret identities anymore?
Omaru1982 and Aquaman called Bruce Batman in front of the villagers.
Julian Brown Those Villagers we like for Greenland or Iceland
Kyle Shaw I don't think the villagers knew English as aquaman had to translate for the villagers.
Louise Drake They had to know English how would have auditioned for the part LOL. J/k but for real it was still a little reckless. The name Batman probably easily translates.
I was shocked. Then maybe the man was working for Bruce and co so he is trustworthy?
I just watched it for Wonder Woman!
buffy455 agreed
Wonder woman was shit tbh. Most of its praises are due to it being first female superhero movie.
I wouldn't say it was shit, but It was a bit overrated for the reason you mentioned, even though female heroes been around, in movies, tv shows and comics!!! WW tv show, supergirl TV show, 80's show and new show, Elektra, Catwoman, Ms Jupiter in Watchmen, Black widow, Jean Grey, Storm, Scarlet witch, Rogue, Gamora, Jessica Jones, etc. twitter don't seem to think anything existed before 2016
@@kicknowledgesmith8608 Technically Wonder Woman was the first successful female character in a comic book.
She paved for most of those characters
Kal El no
One thing I couldnt shake while watching the movie...
Bahzelx That's because he is that much stronger than the rest of the characters. That's the reason they needed him...
no he is not...
Yeah... DC is not brilliant. I’m sorry.
Luke Jolly its not dc that makes the movies. It is warner bros. Get it right.
Strawberry Clorox listen. Can you hear that? It's all the people who care shouting all at once. You can't hear it? No? Exactly.
Luke Jolly the point is. Just because dc character movies are bad doesnt mean its shit. U blame on their movies u blame the people who made it. Simple. U see look outside of the box rather than whats painted in everyones comments. Thick brain.
Marvel is better
I really wished Cyborg just stayed on the Teen Titans, we all would rather have Martian Manhunter or Green lantern also yeah I don't like Affleck as Batman I'd love to see Gerard Butler as him.
FrenchFri47 I really wish we didn't have the current incarnation of the teen titans. Im looking at you cartoon network.
Probably the most generic super hero movie ever.
protectyaneck__, that’s honestly the perfect way to describe it.
Right on the mark!
DCEU is a failure and you delusional DC hating Snyder apologists are the reason why.
i am sorry did GotG all need 1 movie before they become a group. Did x men all need 1 movie before they became a group no? Than my point stands.
likewise in justice league they fixed superman and now he is light and happy so they added that to batman as well.
There was no Hans Zimmer -_- that’s why I hate it
Do remember the final product has removed original scenes and different ending
hey just like transformers XD
None i loved supermans mustache sorry uh completly real shaved lip
None are you kidding me? The cgi was awful
None, the visuals were not that incredible. Granted it was not awful but it’s pretty average.
Critics on BvS: Its too dark and gritty! Why isn't it colorful and fun like the Marvel films?!
Critics on JL: Its too much like the Marvel films! Why can't they be original?!
Matt Ritchie lmao they just hate on Warner Bros.
Critics are lame
Matt Ritchie they are just really shitty
I don't remember any critics citing the dark and grittiness of BvS as a fault for the film.
+Alonzo Wolf - Warner Bros has hundreds of critically acclaimed movies, this has zero to do with the studio.
+Ian Baily - Batman Vs Superman is the movie that coined the term "Murderverse" it took a brutal beating for it's tone and art style.
Screw the critics I actually enjoyed the movie I saw that today in 3D and it was awesome
I just wanted to see gal gadot...😁
Can't argue with that.....
love the smile of gal gadot
Tchannel when Supergirl will come in to movies now only in TV series
Prince Vegeta i just wanted to see scarlet johanson when i went to avengers back in 2012😌
Tchannel-Tengo for feminists
I enjoyed the movie a lot!
Steppenwolf looks like MK's Shinnok.
He's Ivan Ooze with ballsack chin
AEmilius Resurrection I thought he just looked liked a shriveled up ballsack
Shinok from old MK looks better than stepwolf from JL
AEmilius Resurrection Only Shinnok was a good villain.
Yeah! When I was watching it same thing came to my mind, haha
Without Hulk Thor: Ragnarok is an average movie
lol ok. less funny and less visually entertaining....dropping it to an average comedy with average action
It has it's flaws but still not that bad, i love all the characters, great intertainment.
I always loved wonder woman.
No it is that bad
They should have just kept Batman as a badass brute and almost crazy (like in BVS). Giving him a humorous or remorseful side throws away the coolest part of him in BVS and why so many liked him.
Pretzel They actually should have given him one humorous moment and that's all, that would've been perfect for the Dark Knight
Pretzel I agree he was cool and a badass in Batman vs Superman but in Justice League he seemed like a completely different person
Mav R I wish they would just stop trying to copy Marvel. They should have just kept it dark and serious. Kinda like the Dark Knight movies.
what makes The Avengers a more cohesive movie and team is that while all of the members are NOT Hulks or Thors they all play a niche but necessary role.
I kind of agree with you, but you make it sound there can't be two characters with similar specialities which I disagree.
PREPTIME!
Bruce Wayne WonderWoman isnt Perfect at all.. She seemed helpless when superman is around, she couldnt even fly. Lol..
My only problem is Batman. Everything about him pisses me off. The jokes, uselessness in fights, and openly showing his emotion. He doesn't seem true to character at all
yea the role in BvS was much better in terms of fighting and tech, this he was nearly useless
Bruce. And he finally used his long awaited freeze breath.
I thought the movie was badass and I loved the CGI it was very well done in my opinion that is. My only complaint was Cyborg was there just because he’s a Justice League member he had no personality or anything.
I feel the same way my only complaint is it should have been longer with a few more scenes with Superman in it
lance superman ruined the movie
if not for gal gadot's wonder wonder, this would've gone from 7/10 to 4/10
Nate damn right you are!!!
Wonder....wonder? I wonder
It's time to bring in Joel Schumacher and George Clooney to fix this mess.
Even THEY'RE better than Snyder!!!! At least Schumacher's 1995 Bat flick with Carrey was a success!!!
No way ! Am I going back to the dark age of comics again unless I absolutely have to !
#batnipples
LOL!
You gotta be kidding, why don t you say bring back tim burton
WATER CO. Maybe.Because RT states that Flash was the only one done really well in the film
Grant Gustin is better Flash !
I enjoy the movie
But They dint show DARKSEID DAMMIT....
And also Dc should make a Red hood ,teen titans, robin all 5,or focuz on other character on the dcu
if they're gonna do those great story lines, they need to fire snyder
Darksied was embarrased to appear after reading the Script - even the comic book writers make better and more coherent storylines than Zack Snyder!
RX Pixels Starro the conqueror should be the super villain in the movie.
They had darkseid in the orginal cut of the film. The original film was 3 hours they cut it down a lot. I would have been fine with a 3 hour film.
Lil Heinz94 Richard Grason is Dick Grason father right? I know the history of the Robin's but i dont know all family names(except Damien Wayne)
I actually liked JL's portrayal of Superman. It's the one DC should've had from the start.
Khalid Hamadeh And look how well that happened. If you want to go deep and complex, fine. But don't go dark and gritty. That's not Superman.
One of the most iconic shots they removed from the movie in the theater and shown in the trailer. Was the glass trembling scene as a reference to Jurassic Park with the T-rex, when Superman came to Alfred.
My only problem with JL is the fact that no one cared when supes came back. Everyone was sad when he died but when he comes back, no one bats an eye
He came back way too fast that's why
Ha i see what u did there...haha BATS an eye!!
that's because the movie was rushed, i don't know why they were in a hurry.
Bec he came back in a shitty way, without the drama & sense of hope like in Death of Superman. Movie was way too rushed. And oh yea, they passed on the black suit. Dumbest move ever.
Well he came back and started beating everyone up... Anyway I felt he was overpowered.... He even defeat the main villan very easy...
TheRedemblem she was almost as strong as superman and she was as fast as flash at times what the hell are you talking about? 🤣😂🤣😂
TheRedemblem i though wonder woman was a demigoddess? only her father was a god, her mother is mortal
Are you out of your bloody mind? As fast as Flash and as strong as Superman, I can't begin to fathom how stupid this sounds.
What I like about justice league:
-aquaman and flash funny character
-wonder woman fight scene
-cyborg saying "booyah"
-deathstroke cameo
I just watched this movie 3 hrs ago
My girl friend didn't notice henry cavils moustache
time to get her some glasses lol
I wasn't really bothered by it. Seems like an odd thing to nitpick about. I agree with most of the other issues. In the end though, its a comic book movie. As long as it isnt ridiculously horrible, we'll all have a good time, if only in spots.
@Pulse22 Yeah, it's not like future CGI tweaking can't fix it even further.
get that girl some glasses
I was actually looking for Henry Cavill's moustache and couldn't find it. And I was wearing my glasses.
People takes about the moustache blah, blah, blah the guy looked great I couldn't see the moustache at all.
I saw it twice... First time, I made the mistake of reading about the mustache so I definitely saw it. The second time (yesterday) It didn't even bother me and the more I thought Supes and the gang were awesome! Gonna see it a 3rd time.
I have to agree with Steppenwolf being super boring but it was still a great movie
Wait, a boring villain in a great movie??? How does THAT work?
I don't think you can have both
Saifullah Shamshul yeah, with steppenwolf i found that I wasn’t especially fond of his character overall.
They don't make movies they make trailers
It doesn't take a marketing genius to realise Nolan gave the perfect path to follow with the Dark Knight trilogy. In opposition to the "funny, entertaining" super hero blockbusters Marvel propose, they had the esthetic, realistic, grim super hero genre. Aaaaaaaand for a weird reason decide to fuck it all up with dumb boom boom CGI movies with weak plots, awful character development and questionable directors choices. Snyder could have been the perfect cast if he were able to serve us other Watchmen material. Apparently those days are over.
Grim and realism are similar only to people who are suffering from clinical depression. Which is not healthy.
Florent Devier
Did the battle of the Valks play out? I thought it was like the story telling of Ares' betrayal of the gods in Wonder Woman with the storybook visuals.
If you look at the reasoning for why critics panned this movie, it was mainly due to how it wasn't brave, it didn't swim in dangerous seas, just stood side by side with the light hearted tone of avengers, we want a visual style unique one that stands out from the crowd
Y didn't they just go with darkseid?
MrJreed1000 hes on his way
Way too soon the JL's gonna need more than 6 of them to fight darkseid
Plus green lantern and martian manhunter has yet to be seen
Teeb Seeb probably. I felt like the characters were rushed
Isn't there some unspoken rule in cinema that you always leave the stronger villain for a sequel?
imo this was the best dc cinematic universe movie
(I didn't notice the cgi in Henry Cavil's mustache )
It has its flaws, but sure as hell doesn't deserve the ratings the critics are giving it.
totally agree. never like this batman. just saying.
I enjoyed it, but I can see why critics have slaughtered it. Sloppy editing does tend to be a grievance for them and it shows in this movie enough to be a major distraction.
When critics loved ghostbuster's cgi and hated JL's cgi then we know how amazing taste critics have.
Was falling asleep during the movie
Danny O'Gara Yeah Warner Bros. told DC to cut the movie under two hours. That's why the pacing felt weird.
What really gets me is the group photo sessions. Honestly, every time they show the group together they seem to be posing for a record album cover.
David C I give the movie 7.5/10 and I 100% agreed it would of been better if they didn't cut the damn film, it's literally suicide squad/bvs all over again they cut important scenes, They better show all of justice league extended cut because the lie they told us when suicide squad extended cut came out I was shook
mathan blanco
Yeah dude. BVS extended is the best DC film but it got fucked by WB.
It was also originally intended to be a two part film. Since some scenes felt rushed and Steppenwolf wasn’t really given a lot of screen time to really establish his character, the extra hours could have helped. Hell, we could have even gotten a Darkseid cameo and not just a mention of his name.
Rumour has it that Zack Snyder's cut was close to 3 hours. Anyone surprised that a movie has so many issues when a 1/3 of it is missing?
I actually enjoyed And got hooked in more when Superman was a “Villian” for a little time , that part of movie was so interesting He made a better villain than Steppenwolf 😅😅 , he had no layers or depth as villain , Take ZOD in Man is steel for example, he was one of the best villains so much layers, complexity and even reasoning where we were like “yeah I get why is he acting like that for the sake of his people “ now that makes a great villain ,
True Zod is the only good villain in this universe I mean until I we get to see more development with Joker, Lex and Slade.
The DCEU is suffering from an identity issue it doesn't know if its wants to be dark or light in tone or not. Make up your mind already or scrap the whole "Extended Universal" thing and go back to making stand lone comic book movies again.
Elvin Solano I was thinking the same thing. If they tried to put all their focus on one movie at a time we would get better films
Joshua Taylor exactly
Tyler Worsham Sad but true.
comparing to avengers i'm disappointed.. i was expecting more.😩
if people are so triggered about reviewers reviewing movies....why do they subscribe to a movie review channel?
It's okay too enjoy critically panned movies. it's okay to enjoy kitsch lowest common denominator movies. it's okay to like big bang theory and the mission impossible and the Batman movies.
but what you don't get to do, is bitch and moan when someone else doesn't like it.
"they're superhero movies" aaaand? we know because we've seen superhero movies, that they can be insightful and relatable and have a message and have depth and be well written with great character development and plot advancement, and still be about flying people and aliens.
Just because a film isn't a drama, or is supernatural and fantasy. that doesn't excuse it from mediocrity. you're perfectly entitled to enjoy mediocrity, everyone's tastes are different and truly that is okay, but that doesn't mean the film wasn't made in a rush solely and exclsyivky to make money for the studio and they know if they pander to the largest dumbest audience possible they can make a shit movie and still bring in millions.
preach brothah!
People pay too much attention to what critics think and associate it with fact, when their own is what should matter
Ben Roq Yes, and I hated the fucking movie before I even heard of critics opinions
Ben Roq Exactly, too bad I came out of the theater wishing I saw something else.
I agree but the critics WERE pretty on point with most people’s opinions
Hunter And Darion how would you lose money with dc characters ip and I dunno the animated movies do everything better
Brian Stewart Studios only get about 25% in China and I’m sure it’s similar in other foreign markets.
Hunter And Darion
Key word, they are critics. Just being themselves.
Have to say the cgi was cringe-worthy
it wasnt that bad
The CG stood out so much in the Superman fight, I swear it was like they filmed it in a green room. And don't get me started on Superman's CG mouth
Have you ever seen The Mummy Returns?
Felt the same about Thor Ragnarok
TheDaltonMorrison right?
Coco is about to over take it this weekend!
Coco looks shit lmao.
Justin Bieber's Wang Homeless Man It's not. Don't judge a book by its cover. It was amazing
JL box office is higher. Guess you were wrong.
People loved Coco better than JL. It even won awards.
+The Unknown Psycho
Coco won a lot of awards because there was not much good animated films this year, apart from Lego Batman which i think is a better film than Coco. And Captain Underpants was good, but it's not too popular tbh.
I liked it. I didn't really cared about the critics but it's true that superman is overpowered in this movie. Superman shouldn't be that powerful fighting both wonder woman and aquaman. He's also a bit as fast as flash in this movie.
boni46 superman has always been stronger
Mason Wright being stronger doesn't mean he has to wipe the floor with them all together what's the point of the team if superman can do the job by himself.
This is a Flash without experience... of course Supes could keep up with him.
power levels are based on plot in these movies, they had supergirl beat superman on her show!! thor has be under powered in the movies!! but in this case, flash is just starting out and superman is the most powerful Justice league member!! he was created to be overpowered!! read some comics!!
News: The critics hate a DC movie. Also news: water is wet.
Too many critics are in the pocket of Disney to ever give a DCEU movie it's due. If I went only to movies praised by critics, I would fall sleep at the cinema very often.
AoU got better reviews than JL and JL was a way better movie.
WB owns 30% of Rotten Tomatoes.
I’m so sick of critics criticizing CGI
Why would they not? CGI can be great, but in the case of JL where so much of it is so poorly done it actually takes you out of the movie then it deserves to be criticised.
If we can make a fucking truck turning into a giant flying robot look believable, there is absolutely no excuse for the CG in JL to be so bad.
MilkySubstance the cg in JL was not bad at all
Thankful u say.. we as audience pay good price to see that giant red blur in action scenes. A consumer just cares about the final product. It's not our fault that WB can't get their shit under control
No excuse for bad CGI in this day and age. Terminator 2 is still stunning and that came out in 1991...
MilkySubstance Warner Bros, Fantastic Beasts, Harry Potter! Great effects in those movies! Why, because they were given enough time to be perfected!!!
Hahahahahaha as a Christian I find that hilarious. It would be so funny if Jesus was just asleep the whole time.
Would have been better if superman just flew out of his grave right?
BvS everyone likes Batman and everyone hates Superman
Justice league everyone likes Superman and everyone hates Batman
No
omg... no.
Superman is better in justice league than man of steel and in BvS.
No wonder since he can show more of what he can do... .
Ray Roy reading this made me understand everything that happened in 2 movies, in a simple sentence.
one critic gave it a negative review cause aquaman wore jeans.
Ryan Johnson Rumor is Ben Affleck is finish with his three picture contract and Warner Bros is not offering him a renewal!
There is one constant in the universe. That is... Batman actors will always change.
Dexter Morgan I agree man of steel was way better then batman vs superman
Ryan Johnson Man of Steel>BvS>>>JL in my opinion.
Justice league could have been a 9/10 movie but then WB and Joss Whedon appeared and everything went to hell
The only thing I was put off by was the absence of Green Lantern. We did get a sight of the Green Lantern in the flashback of Steppenwolf's first invasion. That was nice but brings forward the question that if Green Lanterns existed back then, then where is he now?
Why wasnt The Flash mentioned on how Ezra Miller...CANT RUN...
Thats like casting someone to play Tony Hawk, who cant skateboard, its a REQUIREMENT!
Miller doesnt-know-how-to-run!@
If you are going to CAST someone who RUNS VERY FAST, you need to get an ACTOR who at least KNOWS how to RUN!
Even beyond THAT watch the movie where you say he is "skipping" he is RUNNING through streets and through the sewer system...not skipping,
The villain looks like a low budget Surt
It sucked
JL > The Last Jedi. Both movies were a let down, but TLJ was a total even bigger let down. JL is way better.
Incoming triggered DC fans
Pff pretty sure a lot of DC fans hated this movie
@@wrestlinganime4life288 true
Atleast there was no useless Lex Luthor played by eisenberg who looked like badly overacted Riddler compared to that even CGI villain is welcome.
Brave F preach bruh preach
Lex Luthor should be quietly menacing, like you are afraid that if you say the wrong thing he will have you killed. I just want to slap Eisenberg's Luthor. He isn't even slightly menacing.
So F&F series can have 8 movies with crappy plot but makes up for it with action but justice league can't? Bullllsshhhhiiitttt
Boz z true
If those movies got good reviews then maybe this would have been worth posting. Do a quick google search before posting. You'll end up looking like an idiot if you don't.
JTOremus I don't think you get the point he was making...
No they can't!
I feel like they used the successful Justice League Animated Movie formula, but it doesn't work on a big budget action film.
The movie was good up until superman came in. It was pretty much over when he arrived cuz he was so overpowered and there was no challenge for him
F**k the critics someone should criticize them. The movie was awesome
Megaformer its okay to like things but admit its not very good
Gad you liked it.I personally hated it.
Its not awful but it wasn't that good as well.
Let's not forget how the trailer showed a bunch of scenes that ended up NOT being in the movie. Seven scenes by my count.
Yeah that's Joss Whedon for you........
The critics sucks.😢😒😔
The Englishs sucks
and so did suicide squad BvS and now JL
Racist White Boy BvS the ultimate cut it is ok not that bad and this movie is good it has some flaws and Suicide Squad is the worts movie of all time.
Yes, every single critic in the world sucks.
Btw batfleck is still great
Movie was crap...deal with it.
DevilPoroNnj you think Ragnarok had a bad vallain? Wow.
I liked Death Note better than this crap.
J. R. I have.
"What Critics HATED About Justice League"
The fact that THEY didn't have the guts, balls, or talent to make it.
I love how sensitive everyone can be when you say a movie they like sucked. Right or wrong it is pretty childish.
I love how sensitive people like you get when you say a movie sucks, but your opinion doesn't change ours. It's pretty childish.
