In all fairness, those of us who have regional accents that used to be stronger get their accents stronger when they speak to people from their area or their relatives.

That’s what I think too...older people and grandparents are usually past such things after so long...and they seem very caring from his story...I think she either has bad hearing or something like Alzheimers...bless her! Such a cute family Xx
I guess for his grandparents the horror was the thought that their grandchild might be hurting himself, once they were reassured he wasn't hurting himself I'm sure they saw the funny side.
