One of the only times I’ve seen Scott smile like that while he plays. He looks genuinely happy when he hits those pop/soul/funky notes in his first solo here.
This whole album so far has felt like Tim said, you know what Scott, you take the lead this time. And Scott has been blowing out of the fucking water every single track. NO ONE has any right to say that Tim overshadows Scott after this album. Scott is on a level with Tim. And I think this album is Tim’s way of saying he knows it. He takes such a background role outside of intros and hooks through everything so far. Ego death is appropriate. He could easily take the road of thinking he IS the band, like so many talented but egotistical guitarists have before. But no, this song feels like his way of saying he’s part of a group that makes beautiful music, he’s not the only important member.
Tim respects the whole band, they recently cancelled a show cause Clay their drummer got injured and they said only Clay could plays those parts and they wouldn't be able to do the show without him.
this song was the first time I ever heard of Polyphia, and I can't stop listening it for the last week, I tried other songs and realized I should have known them much earlier. It's a masterpiece, these guys will make history. Steve Vai is awesome as always
Your reactions mirrored my own almost exactly; thrilled, stunned, excited, even confused (e.g. the trumpet solo at the end), all in just the right places. The underlying melodic element? Brilliant (and what an earworm). This is a masterpiece.
Can we all get together and make this the world's anthem right now? These musicians came together and created something inspiringly beautiful. Every comment and reaction video made about this song and video has been a joy to read. Something really positive has been created and shared with us all, and we all agree that it is great. Incredible writing all around. I'm discovering new sounds (percussion this time) with every listen. Oh yea, great channel man. I hit that button like 3 min in. And, hey, I'm with you on that "too early in the morning" comment. I still haven't fully processed this song to where I can say I understand it, and I've heard it about 30 times. Fantastic!
This is my first track hearing these guys and like you my mind just couldn't compute the awesome sounds these guys are making plus Steve took it to another legendary notch.
I thought o.d. is my favorite, and then playing god came out blew my mind and become my new favorite, and then this came out, blew my mind again, now this is my favorite polyphia’s song for now.
Now that's how you do a REACTION video!! Your face and expressions says it all. You are one of the most fun Polyphia reactors man. Cheers and keep it up!
This quickly became my favorite pplyphia song 🤘 everything about this is just pure talent and both beyond expectations and also exactly what I expected/wanted/needed from polyphia!
Your feedback and reaction n excitement was the best of the best from all the other reaction video's i've watched!!!! Their song honestly is sooo kooolll, it's litterally so perfect for an Anime scene for the "Main character" !!! I actually get vision scenes when i hear any music, and trust me the scenes that came flashing to every melody and beat of "ego death" is totallyy super super sickkkkk!!!!!!!!!! #itslikereturnofthelord vibe i get
Honestly, Nasty was my favorite for a long time, but this one is really starting to replace that. This song is just so epic in scale, and builds to such a fantastic climax that it's hard not to take notice of just how far Polyphia have come. They've reached the top, and are accompanied by legends such as Steve Vai. They were even just featured, with Steve, on the cover of Guitar World Magazine. I swear, it seems like everything these guys touch turns to gold, and it is amazing to watch. I have tickets for their Dallas show next April and I am beyond excited! Loved the reaction btw, you got a new sub!
The way Scott makes the guitar sing with his mini solo is just beyond words!! from the music making to the video direction, this is lit! If not their best work so far, right up there.
This is the best one, was just incredible and the way steve vai gets in is just great... its always nice when you see an artist like steve vai sharing with new generation, I mean he it's been since Zappa, glad seeing him so epic there.
My favorite Polyphia song is Culture Shock. It was the first song I listened to from them and I've been hooked on their music ever since. My favorite song from newer Polyphia is easily Drown. Mateus Asato's riff spiced up the whole thing to a flaming ball of greatness
Saucy, Icronic, The Worst, and most recently Playing God. Until this one dropped. Ego Death is my current fave lol. Album drops Oct 28. The trumpet is from Brasstracks, who feature on the first song Genesis. Ego Death is the last track. So the album begins and ends with Ian’s trumpet. Also, the album is called Remember that you will die, and the tracks go from Genesis to Ego Death. Interesting meaning implied there 😊
I agree this Ego Death was so good I had to make a first time Game Music Video Edit on it 3 days after its release. Best tune so far from Polyphia. Loved it.
Has anyone ever told you that you look like Q from impractical jokers? Not an insult, just something I noticed lol. Also this song is easily my new favorite, and was the one I’ve been most hyped for since they released the track names and features, and it did not disappoint
@@FischtankProductions in terms of current guitarists who are changing the scene, not in terms of overall best ever. As great as Polyphia are for what they do, still way too early to be putting them among that legacy list
@@njldst2007 it's not too early if you're this good.. idk why people emphasize age with these things. Polyphia has proved themselves enough to be considered among the best ever
Everything they've done has led up to this song. Tim probably knew what he had, and then said fuck it, we're going up to 11 and threw it over to Steve. I know this is stupid to say, but it's going to be hard for them to top this one. Those bass drops will give you whiplash. Just everything. Damn.
Happy New Year!!! I didn't catch you reacting to ruclips.net/video/FHalHkfM5Aw/видео.html If not on your list and ya want to it... please just make sure you stretch first and leave time to prep for a jazz sonic cyclone! 😁
Not sure we'll see people in sweaters rock this hard again.
haha I never thought about that
“Where does the fuzz on his guitar come from?”
“His sweater”
“Makes sense”
@@bfomoto3809 hahaha
Underrated comment.
I noticed a sort of common theme with Asian (or at least half) guitarists and sweaters
the brainmelt at @9:45 😆 YUP, THAT'S ME TOO. I can't even explain how glorious this experience is. Steve Vai is a LEGEND!
This thing is a musical masterpiece. Nothing less. 🤘🏼
agreed
my favorite polyphia song is always the next one!
Yeah after Playing God I figured that spoiled their best song. Happy to be wrong.
I think you might be right
this band should be winning grammys
this. Best guitar players on the planet.
i love that so many of us still tune-in, & get excited, for information-dense music...
“Oh hell yea, that chair’s sick!”
Underrated quote.
Haha i don’t know why this comment made me laugh so hard.

This is the best thing they’ve written yet. Easily my favorite song by them.
"Bro what am I listening to?..." 🤣
Subbed for your energy ☮️
Dude this song is RIDICULOUS. My fav of theirs so far.
the dude at the end is BrassTracks. he's on the first track on that record called "genesis". that song is fire too btw.
Easily my favourite Polyphia song. I haven't stopped listening to it since it dropped.
They are the best... And introducing Steve Vai... IS AMAIZING!!! I have no words to describe this!!!
Man KKKKKKKKKKKKKK your reactions is so so much fun! Thanks for all vídeos about Polyphia. Congratulations from Brazil!
Much love…thank you. I appreciate you
Scott fucking kills this song. The snippet at 5:24 is one of my favorite small parts of any of their songs.
The song and. Ideo is beautiful and amazing. They set the bar high with this one.
One of the best reaction so far.
I've watched about 5 reaction videos and there all great because this music is spectacular. Great video.
I love that tone when Scott comes in at 3:08
Super chunky

My favorite Polyphia song is called, Icronic. The riff scott does at the end is just amazing
FOR REAL!!! its my favorite too!! criminally underrated song and scott's part is so tasty!

I totally understand You, i've been playiing guitar for 12 years and i don't even understand how are they doing that fingerstyle slap things.
🤯🤯🤯 Wow... Just Wow......
Probably another band that most of their songs are my favourite not just only one favourite song!

I first react like you.. and i see you.. make me so happy… i was out of word.. after steve warmups notes and come to his thing u knw what i meant.

My favorite by far also 🎉❤
Love your reactions bro! Keep up the good work 👏 just subscribed!
Thank you bro. I appreciate you. We do all kinds of music round here.
most genuine react that i've ever seen, this guy is amazing
Your reactions are priceless. Pure, like their lines! Just subbed
I'm so Happy to see u happy man, u just made my day ❤
Best reaction, man. Similar reaction to what I had, bro. Lowkey one of the dopest pieces of music I’ve ever heard.
Loved your reaction! The way you're jiving with it I thought you were going to hurt yourself 👍❤
I may have LOL
First it was Euphoria, then it was Playing God but I think this might be my favorite now. Dunno, everything they've done is so amazing.
Your reactions are the best, very sincere and funny. I laughed so much! :D
Glad you enjoyed! ✌️😎🤘

Showed this to a friend and he said when Steve Vai came in it the song turned into actual drugs if that even had a sound
4:34 "Oh hell yeah that chair is sick!" LMAO 😂
Not wrong though it's dope af lol
I have watched 20 reacts to this vid... you were the first to repeat the genius of @ 5:30
It was too dam good. If people didn’t get so mad about pauses i would have repeated it 30 times lol
Same way I felt at their concert

Ego Death is absolutely #1, Playing God #2, & G.O.A.T. #3 !!! 😎
Scottie at 4:30 slapping/plucking the guitar like a bass, how do you even do that?
Bro I honestly don’t know how they can do better than this, they’ve outdone themselves
I agree this Ego Death was so good I had to make a first time Game Music Video Edit on it 3 days after its release. Best tune so far from Polyphia. Loved it.
It's a freaking symphony
Great Reaction!!!
IT'S TOO EARLY IN THE MORNING FOR THIS!
2023 BEST RECTION TO POLYPHIA EGO DEATH. PERIOD
Thank you bro. Glad you enjoyed it.
I take it back. This is my favorite!
love your reaction bruh
I love how Scotty’s riff had you fallin out, I had the exact same reaction 😂
Definitely ego death is my favorite polyphia song
That chair is sick!
I think one of the most fun songs they have is James Franco.
that song is sooo sick :)
I like your react dude.. 😆😆😆
No vocals, Steve,?!!!!!! ROCK ON!! BEAUTIFUL !!!
Best reaction! Hahaha
BEST REACTION!!!
Good reaction bro 👍
wassup Fisch, I'ma big fan of you. Say hello to Brazil o/
My fav is still Death Note, but god this Ego Death is good
Straight up, number one song on earth; aside from September.
Eek, Eeekk?,BOOM!!!
Please react to ABC! it's one of their first songs with lyrics through out the whole song
as the piece goes on, they go up in floors, and the difficulty of the piece goes up till they hit the roof with Steve Vai there
Ohh wow. That’s a good observation…elevating
It's Mozart!! Mendelssohn, Vivaldi, Bach just in our Era I swear!!
First half of playing God vs this, but whole. Ufff hard choice.
Has anyone ever told you that you look like Q from impractical jokers? Not an insult, just something I noticed lol. Also this song is easily my new favorite, and was the one I’ve been most hyped for since they released the track names and features, and it did not disappoint
Alllll the time lol. Seriously every time I hit a drive through they think they are being pranked.
Nightmare is my favorite Polyphia song
I'm shutting in my pants mann.....not even a guitarist!!! God 😱
Imagine being better than the best Tim and Scotty are amazing
No kidding
Tim and Scott better than vai!? They're INSANELY good, but vai... they have years to catch up to him imo.
Steve vai said himself Tim is the best

Six flags ain’t got nothing on Polyphia
;)
what i loved is...one could pick vai from the line up without the video...
Scott the guitar jesus ( i mean god)
That drummer is nasty AF. Tim so good people don't always notice how bad ass that drummer is.

Guitar porn. That's what you're listening to. 😂
No one’s going to mention the bass??
