One of the reasons the bass hits so hard is because of how well he's synched with the drummer. Both are named Clay (Clay Gober the bassist and Clay Aeschliman the drummer). You should react to their song GOAT from a few years back. It's absolute gold. And speaking of gods.... check out their song "Playing God."
U said it...the amplitude along with the space they give bassist and kick drum to harmonize together is being much appreciated these days in Progressive "Rock"... polyphony if you will🥁💯🎶🔊🤔
Vai's become so good at shredding, you can't even tell he's doing it. He's talented enough that he's figured out how to merge it seamlessly with the melody. That said, Polyphia's guys are major shredders, too, and I'd say it's a toss-up at this point as to whether Vai's still faster. Rather than try to out-shred them, he chose a super-legato style with that multiple-string pitch-bending thing he does, and to my ears, I'd swear he made it sing. Reminds me of an opera singer performing an aria.
Harmonics fucking EVERYWHERE. The way he blended harmonics with bends and chord flips just with half note glisses and minor 6th and 7th intervals is NUTS.
Guthrie and Malsteem are honestly better at everything and are for more melodic and harmonic. Not taking from vais incredible technical skill but his melodies are kind of boring and sometimes dont sound musical. There are times when he does, but he sucks his own cock too much while he's playing.
Steve Vai's fingers just move in a different way. If you pay attention to his playing, and really watch what he's doing and listen closely, you'll start to understand just how good he really is. With his playing, it's not about speed, it's about melodic complexity.
Hola Millie. Saludos 👋🏽😉
I'm not sure if anyone else already mentioned it, but Tim and Scott collaborated with BABYMETAL for "Brand New Day" and you can definitely tell. Great fan of Vai and Polyphia, I was quite concerned as the song went on, how could Steve blend in, oh, well, of course he did it easily🤩- And yes, all the rhythmic part is pretty solid, I mean it has to be, there is a lot of guitar to support here 😅 🤘🦊⚡
If you ever come to the US, please let me know. I'd love to work an improv track with you. Your voice is great and your appreciation of prog is WONDERFUL! :)
"Musician reacts..." Right. After watching your reaction to this... Im 90% sure you LITERALLY can´t tell the difference between a minor and a mayor scale :S
“Where is Steve vai” idk he’d prolly show up faster if you quit pausing the video and complaining about him not showing up yet. It’s almost like it’s because you keep pausing it

The main reason is that it's layered with 808
It's fckin crazy how on time they are. It's mathematical. If I didn't know they had an actual drummer I'd say it was a synth track.

Didn’t he invent that too? It’s called joint shifting
I'm pretty sure Yngwie Malmsteen is probably faster than both of them

Getting closer to the true sound of the universe. Greatest sound ever created! 6:18 true sound of the universe.
I love Polyphia, and Ego Death is my favourite of theirs. Steve Vai has such an amazing energy, and they work so well together.

it reminds me of waltz for some reason
That intro cut of your music is so good. 90s sound for sure. Love your voice!
The Reason i love them is The BASSIST sync with the DRUMMER
And they HIT so HARD 🤘🤘😍🤤
Dynamics as well. Throwing in those pops makes that single bass note really stand out.
Poliphya now is the future of music, steve vai its passing the torch to the new generation of good taste and respect for the true music.
maybe this is the future, but it is a future that will be worse than the old one
Watching you rock out to these guys with pink kitty headphones just made me fall in love. 🤠
Best rhythm section out there!! Bass and drums are so good. We all know Tim and Scottie kick ass, but you have to give a huge shout out to them.
You are the only one I found that worded it at the end EXACTLY how I was thinking it! 😆
Fusion of Epicness!!
Que buena reacción Millie! casi lloró cuando vi esto por primera vez!

If you want funky, "Saucy" off of their New Levels New Devils album is wild.

Steve Vai is a legend
You like Steve V you should listen to his mentor Frank Zappa. Try the Black Page. It's almost painful to wrap your head around it.
where are you from? I thought Spanish like, spent time in London. Like Hector Bellarin.
If you think this is funky, check out The Audacity by Polyphia! You’ll love it!
Watch Steve Vai's teacher ;p Fantastic song this is though lol.
If you like trap and technical ability you need to see some berried alive
Try react sokuninaru tenihoru odura.. Prog rock
Fast arpeggios and cardigans 😅

"Musician reacts..." Right. After watching your reaction to this... Im 90% sure you LITERALLY can´t tell the difference between a minor and a mayor scale :S
What’s a mayor scale? Never heard of that in the music industry I don’t think your much of a musician yourself
@@BigSlimeRecords mayor scale is a person that govern more than one province
I’m a musician and I don’t know any music theory, you’re just a hater.
Come on now, not EVERY musician is a musical genius
“Where is Steve vai” idk he’d prolly show up faster if you quit pausing the video and complaining about him not showing up yet. It’s almost like it’s because you keep pausing it
Love how much you and Polyphia respect Steve.
