Yay! Awesome! I've been really thinking about Shakedown Street a lot recently and that was even before they started the Friday night Shakedown Street RUclips stream and I kept hoping that one of these nights that you Okie Deadhead, would upload a show or the Dead open up with Shakedown Street, and I finally got it today! Yay! Thank you so much, Okie Deadhead, you rock!!!
Ok........it can get better - Phil just stepped in at about 11min in and took this to a whole nother level. Yeee Haww Okie THAT's what I'm talkin about !!!!
You can tell there was a pretty good snowstorm backstage that night. Why on earth did they drop "Maybe You Know"? That's Brent's best song! I love that Pigpen tribute jam they did after "Trucking".

I like 82/83 Throwing Stones = still musically interesting, still evolving/ developing. Not playing it in their sleep as it started to feel subsequently
Didn’t get to see them in Philly till 84, but it seems they were always on the money there every show I saw or just heard. Don’t know of any other venue I can say that about. Maybe Hampton Va. and Portland Me. behind Philly
The sounds of the score to yet another chapter ! These Phillie shows Were "Home town"(& for Bobby) Shows" & "never needed More than a 'Match-head" ~~ ! ~~ Oh & Please, if it's possible? ~4/27/85 ~ FROSTz!
Also one of my favorite Space -> Truckin's of all time. Very nice mellow space transitions / builds up to the Truckin' crescendo gradually & nicely. None of that jarring carnival/ referee whistle nonsense that is more typical of Truckin' intro's
@Tom L But Tom L, the word on the street is that there is absolutely nothing shaking on Shakedown Street...not even Sugaree. And she's notorious for shaking. (Cocaine will do that to a person...poor soul, bless her heart.)
Thanks for this monster show ❤
Great show, 2nd year of touring.
Wouldn't trade it for anything. Beats the hell out of a therapist at $50/hr
Jerry really had a gritty tone and voice from these years. Love it
That's how the songs should be played!!!!!
They definitely had it together this night. The Shakedown was fantastic
W.La is incredible. Jerry is clear headed and just riffing out. And remember all the words. They are so tight. It's beautiful.

U picked a couple of my faves? No doubt
That w. la is incredible
This defines an East Coast show!
Missed this show. Co out 6.6.87 shakedown. Got to burn w Nevilles in lot before show!
Shakedown always fit Philly well. The Spectrum lot was always full of smack.
Also one of my favorite Space -> Truckin's of all time. Very nice mellow space transitions / builds up to the Truckin' crescendo gradually & nicely. None of that jarring carnival/ referee whistle nonsense that is more typical of Truckin' intro's
