This path back to Him for some is a brick by brick taking down all the walls we have built ourselves and without His instruction it falls as a house on the sand. My closet had to come clean and clean by my standards was not what He wanted, it was a 3am every day for 3 ½ months on my knees in a puddle of tears showing me all of my iniquities and times I have hurt others and Him and all of my not so public thoughts and feelings some I never even knew I had. This was absolutely the most terrifying heart wrenching, humiliating thing ever and from time to time there were some amazing gems of memories I had buried under all the filth in my life. He knew He could not do this brick by brick with me as I would backslide as I had many times before, so He bulldozed the filthy castle I built for myself and let me wallow in the sadness I created all with loving arms wrapped around me to comfort me in the process. I am now the true man in the mirror that He sees And I love His view of the me he made me I Love you Father, thank you for calling me home to you Galatians 2:20 "I am Crucified with Christ; nevertheless, I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me; And the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me."
I am thrilled to hear this, very thankful for you. May I ask what prompted you on this path of denying yourself, taking up your cross, and following Jesus?

Hi Sheila. Despite the difficulties, which is naturally the result of denying ourselves and following Christ, especially after years of bad choices, yet I am excited for you as you begin to follow Christ. Be sure to spend plenty of time learning from him, reading the Bible and praying. Then, be sure to have something worthwhile to occupy your time (volunteer at a Christian ministry, church, or wherever the Lord leads), and finally, do not forsake the fellowship of the saints (the Body of Christ functions together, and we need each other).

@@sheilaprice5202 You're welcome. My experience is that there has never been more to do than now. The mission I'm involved with here has lots of needs, despite the shutdowns. My work, which is ministry related, hasn't slowed down any. Our neighbors need people as much now as ever. I think moving forward in faith is the only solution, taking care to minimize risks, but yet moving forward in full faith.
I think we often incorrectly blame the enemy for the difficult things that we go through. But, if we are to be like Christ, a breaking is necessary. You rejoice in this, though now for a short time you have had to struggle in various trials so that the genuineness of your faith - more valuable than gold, which perishes though refined by fire - may result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 1:6-7 HCSB bible.com/bible/72/1pe.1.6-7.HCSB
But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. [Romans 10:8-10]
