Thank you for explaining your analysis. But I see your contacts seem to be having an issue. @28.45. Your steel channel is deflecting even before the stopper is in contact. I had the same problem with Abaqus in my PhD days. The way i solved that was to define displacement as an initial condition and then allow it to move during the number of time increments. All the best.
The contacts behaving properly. The clamp is bolted on the C channel which is in contact with the pipe, so the c chanel will sol have some movement due to pipe.
