Yep, I suppose it was just frustration and red mist descending on him tho. It's why I don't use the radio on iRacing because I often need a couple of minutes to cool down when something ruins my race. Way too easy to just shout at some random stranger on the internet as a knee-jerk reaction and then realise a few seconds after that it's all on you.
I’m glad my comment made you laugh (“I’m just shit “ in response to the frustrated guy stuck behind me in the twisty bit saying “what are you doing?”) and also for not being rude when I (like most Mazda’s) got in your way in the first race. Great video, great attitude to your fellow racers.
That self-murder by Michael. Classic sim racing moment, so focused on the car directly in front the following driver forgets to look ahead and causes an incident.
I like the mix of commentary from yourself at the wheel and the voice over. It was well edited too, especially in the second race the way it was tense with the end result never sure until the final corner.
Honestly this was one of the best sim racing videos I've seen in a long while. LOVE the style and editing of this one! It's almost like watching the story of a race unfold while watching the PoV of your favorite driver :D
Good job Jimmy. Nice to see iRacing getting on board with the multi-class Zolder mayhem vibes. As for Michael, I'm 100% on the side of the MX5 in both cases; got what he deserved.
Really loved the dfferent shots and switches between different crashs and battles! Having the impromptu reactions by the other drivers over voice chat was the cherry on top. It really felt like watching a proper race commentary with the main focus on the hero car.
hey jimmy, I broke my wrist the other day karting at PFI. just wanted to say that I've been binging ur vids to keep me sane ever since lol. Keep up the good work. (or at least until im not bwoken)
Jumping in to a race without practice I see, a man of culture I see... This was a few weeks back and I agree the race of the season for me so far, was very fun.
Love these kinda laid-back race videos, but really gotta give it up for the editor on this one - the bit with Michael explaining himself like an F1 driver during the post-race interviews was top tier kek
Love this style of video. I haven't raced this series since it had the FR500 Mustang but now I'm imagining what the Mustang around Cadwell would be like... Awesome, I suspect!
Lol I feel like "What are you doing, why are you in the way?" also sums up Jimmy's mentality to traffic 😂 Yeah there was one or two moments where the car in front did some very weird move (Presumably they didn't realize the car in the mirror wasn't racing them since they went for the inside line) but mostly it's just cars on the natural racing line. They have no obligation to get out of your way, this isn't F1.
i've just started up iracing on wednesday, and have done some of these races but at oulton park in the wet, and it has been so chaotic. but hey, its been great as an intro to multi class racing
I was the lone Clio in that last race. It’s quite fun to drive that thing and being FWD, I can pick out a little bit more pace initially in it. It was surprising to see Jimmer in the flesh during one of those races, but seeing him battle it out with the other car while in the lead was definitely something else. Next up, TCR in the Nurburgring Endurance series!
If you look closely at 18:54 , after the contact, you can see wheel/suspension damage on the right rear of the MX-5, which is what I think caused them to veer right into Michael. The positioning was unfortunate, but the *initial* contact is Michael's fault, with the second contact being a direct result of that. I'd say racing incident if more of an effort was made to stay right and it was just trading paint, but 18:40 is pretty damning.
The Production Car Challenge is a recipe for pure s-housery with the Mazda and Toyota being both free and so close pace-wise, especially in the lower splits (where I live). Mind you, I guess that's the point, it's the perfect track day/local club racing simulator.
I Love the Production Car Sim-Lab Challenge. Even more as the M4 was refunded, always an enjoyable race. But at Cadwell park its a SR killer, lets face it, that narrow width makes it a motorcycle track . Hope they keep the M4 for next season.
18:38 the 2nd place car is fully covering the Mazda until the last moment. He should have known that the Mazda is there from seeing it before the uphill in front of Jimmer or just from the relative times but apparently not.
9:14 Oh man, that's an INCREDIBLY frustrating way to be DQ'd as the leader, and I think if I was going to point to any reason why the whole 'no fault' system really isn't fair, that would be it. Unfortunately, short of having human stewards in every race (obviously no feasible) I really don't know how you could fix it. Maybe machine learning tech will be able to do this, who knows. As for 18:56 totally agree, that's just butthurt on his behalf. Mazda had literally nowhere to go and it's on beemer to overtake him safely, which he didn't. Great vid as always, Jimmy, that last part of the second race was intense stuff! I might just have to buy this track.
I think a big problem with iRacing is that a lot of people are scared or just don't care to learn new or challenging tracks like this one. When you can just find another series running Spa, Sebring, Road America (big popular tracks) every week, why put it in the time to get good at a new circuit? That's why I appreciate when combos like this come along
This style of laid back voice overs and calm commentary during the race is great for a change. keep it up Jimmer, both you are SuperGT are super close to reaching the million mark. Hope to see you there soon.

i second this. love this style video
great for someone thinking about getting into iracing cuz i’ve heard so much shit about it but this seems like pure fun
I think Jimmer also benefits from not having to spend brain cells on narrating during the race, meaning his driving has all the attention
yeah love this style of presenting the race, good narration and editing

nowhere to go to get out of the way, and tbh, being in the way is kind of the raison d'etre for lower classes in a multiclass race.

8:02 That sound is from the video, not your PC. Your PC is fine
I spent 15 seconds at least looking at what might have broken....
RUclips equivalent of putting sirens and car horns in radio adverts.
