I like the second layer of reading someone's pulse. From time to time I will notice someone's pulse going nuts in their neck but sat there wondering well are they amped up because they have a big hand or because they are running a big bluff. Never thought to try and see if their pulse calmed down over a period of time. Fun to think about.
This is the realest and most straightforward explanations of live tells I've ever studied. Fedor is a boss and learning from bosses can help you hit that next level. Thanks so much for breaking this down. Much respect
appreciate the insights a lot, thanks for that. Very annoying to hear poker"influencers" say that they have reads on this and reads on that but they cant talk about it (hi charlie). The table talk (of a player involved in a hand) topic wouldve been interesting too.
What are you talking about? If you actually watch his content he's given ppl lots of tips on general population tells. he's just not gonna give specific tells on specific people lol he's just trying to explain that when he's talking about a hand because obviously it's relevant information
This video makes me take a step back and think a little bit even playing online. Everyone always preaches volume volume volume. So I get caught up in just trying to play a lot of hands but don't look at the quality of those hands and all the details I could be paying attention too. Thanks for all the free info much appreciated 👍🏻
I’ve used the taking a drink and looking at blinking frequency on many occasions. Also great call on the denomination of chips. That one is so reliable! Big fan of your playing style Fedor!

This pretty obvious tbh. It’s exactly the same when you fade the snap online, you relax. If you film yourself in such a spot you’ll see yourself visibly relax…
As someone who has trouble keeping my pulse in check, I will now be looking at this more in depth! Thanks for the wonderful insight, looking forward to more videos!
ahahaha, the last thing you said, when people drink while they are all in or made a huge bet river is a thing that I've done multiple times both with value or bluff; I might me a master in reversing tell. However I have enjoyed this video and all the precious advices provided.
I love live tells and they are very helpful, especially for recreational players. Just understand that live tells are not reliable without context. The biggest flaw I see with players who study and work to improve their game is thinking that other players see the game the same as you. Especially with recreational players. If you don't understand the players range and how they value their hands live tells are worthless. Also you should understand a players baseline and how they react with different hand values.
The thing is the people who're most prone to giving off tells are usually bad and inexperienced players. Thus general observation of their play and sticking to good fundamental poker will beat these players.
@@MitjitsuI've found the players I can exploit the most tend to know some about poker, but not enough. The novices and complete calling stations are ABC poker, but you always have to be aware of some random 2 pair, straight or flush they might have backed into. It's the ones I can bluff a bit more often that usually pay more dividends. I'll often get into good sized pots with them where scare cards are highly exploitable, and I take advantage accordingly. Several pots came up just today in a live MTT I was playing where pushing around semi capable opponents proved highly profitable. We can all beat the newbies. It's profiting off the less talented regs that pays off the most in many spots...
I really love you’re guys videos keep it up! I try to keep my sizes the same…sizing tells make me a lot of money but also I live by the sword die by the sword so you have to be ready to go all in with nothing deep in a tournament is what he’s saying. You have to be aware when to go polar and have the heart to commit to progress to the next level.
I watched this 2 days ago. last night i played a short session. called a 3b squeeze mp vs ep with TT. call flop, he jams turn.. he starts breathing heavy and doesnt relax. i find the call. now i have $1000 instead of 300 after the hand which i would normally snap fold... next hand he doubles me up again!! thanks Fedor!
I think the pulse tell mentioned here is actually backed by math too (doesn't work for top pros but still) Pot $1000, river bet $700 for value (nuts). Initial excitement from betting $700, but wears off because you accept/settle into the $700 swing of whether they call. Pot $1000, river bet $700 as a bluff. Same initial excitement from betting $700, however the bettor maintains excitement as the swing of whether they call is actually $1700 and as they realize this they get more excited or at least maintain the initial excitement.
Wow this is amazing. The taking a drink one is spot on! I was all in with the nut straight and was sipping my drink. Villain folded. He might have watched your video!
You take your index finger and middle finger and place them firmly on your opponent’s carotid artery or brachial artery (refer to anatomy textbooks for locations). Some poker rooms don’t allow this.
Ppl bet dropping their chips like it is plastic shit directly towards opponent is often a bluff and there are some psychological explanations to that, players putting wisely and smoothly their chips close to the line are at least very confident.
Ever tried asking a player whos betting river big if “they ll show u if u fold”? If their answer is a hasty and genuine “yes” they r always bluffing. used to think the sipping from drink is more indicative of a bluff but after several bad calls and 100s of dollars lost i now agree that the opposite is actually true😂
1st to see like and comment :) thanks for the tips LOVE YOUR PASSION Mr. Holz, wish to meet u , study the game and play with in final table someday :) 2022 this comment will manifest someday
My biggest tip is take your time, just think and keep looking at the player. Talk to them, ask them questions. Sometimes people will flat out tell you their hand without even realising it.
About 3 minutes into this vlog I started thinking No Fedor don't talk about this stuff. Damn if he didn't give away THE most important information reading players.
I soul read constantly. Its all about breaking down their range as the hand progresses. By the river if you're really good at it, you should have it down to one or two sets of cards.
I really agree with that last one , two completely different faces when you actually think are thinking and just waiting with a blank stare to not give a timing tell or something
From the perspective of a 50+ year old male, I LOVED this video. But disagree with most of the theory! You're obviously more accomplished than I am, but many of us old guys have adjusted to the game. Build pots on draws retaining fold equity, know when to bail, and bully the weak into folding with 45o. Keep up the good work!👍😎
Whenever I want to get called I try to look as nervous as possible, I’ll start fiddling with the strings on my hoodie or taking sips on my drink. Bluffing a bit tougher to act relaxed though.
The very last one is why I’d you’re going to drink at the table, drink all the time so you can’t give anything away ;-) Well of course if you drink non stop you’ll eventually have a massive stack then give it all back plus 3 bullets! 😬
If this guy said the world was flat I would believe him...a bit, this 1 simple video has taught a lot, it didn't teach me how he live reads when he plays online though because he clearly does with his results
Ummm... Yes. I played at a table today, and the three guys who stacked their chips loosely were calling stations, in most pots and unconcerned with keeping their stacks clean. The four tight guys and one woman kept their stacks even, easy to view and in line. I didn't even have to see anything else, and I knew exactly how the table would play. Wouldn't you know it, they did. Shocker...
That's very player specific. I think the default rule is that it is actually the other way around. Most players need to be relaxed to be talking a lot and don't want to give away that they are tense in case they are bluffing
I have been playing live and studying tells for 15 years and this is the most intelligent, well thought out, video that i've ever seen. Brilliant bro
