Ive seen historical parmesan ice cream made by two historical youtubers and both were blown away by it. In Scandinavia we like the mix of salty and sweet particularly much. Blackcurrant jellies, jams and salty/sweet/vinegary pickled fish. The last thing I don't particularly like to be fair. We have bananas and curry seasoning on our pizza up here. And kebab. And we expect alot of variation in pizza. Similarly to the variation you'd expect in sandwiches. It's just that kind of food to us. Remember that Italians have fruit on pizza too. And alot of toppings that would seem weird or wrong to an american. And if the italians are obsessed with authenticity then why not go after deep dish pizza and pan pizza? Why pineapples?
