I wouldn't say it GETS darker. It just abruptly drops you off the cliff of dispear with the sudden jump scare. That's why it works so well, cause you don't see it coming.

@@thejamesonthestreet Oh it definitely did, personally speaking as far as goosebumps goes i was also referring to the Meta elements more than anything DDLC is on a whole other level as far as psychological horror goes Especially if you compare it to the other horror games that Lamy played in the past
@@straydragonsneeki4013 true, that's why DDLC is one of my all time favorite game. I was really invested back in 2017, even played quite handful of DDLC mods. Sayori's death is really impactful and I have watched someone broke down afterwards, refusing to continue to play the game.
I dont know how to describe it but man, seeing Lamy's reaction here reminds me that DDLC is scary in such a different way than any other horror game ive played. Even just saying "psychological horror" doesnt seem quite right. Its like some sort of... meta horror? The game functions and plays in a way that perfectly matches the things we come to expect from a game in the first half and then intentionally defies them in such a brutal way. Im not even sure if "fear" is the right word. Like, oh whats that? You want to just reload your save and undo Sayori's death? Youve been able to reload your save whenever you want so far right? Thats how games always work! ...well no thats just too bad. Not this time. Thats not how it works in real life and thats not how its going to work here. Had me feeling some sort of way no other game has made me feel.
They didn't lie when they said this is a horror game. Wonder how many people ignore the opening warning and get traumatized by the game. Haachama should definitely play this tho

ラミィちゃんのツンデレロールが可愛すぎて、イチャイチャへの反応が最高すぎて無限にニヤニヤできる神ゲーだと想ってたら突然豹変してビビりちらした…
サヨリちゃんの言ってることが痛いほど共感できて自分の話？ってなったし、主人公の対応が丁寧に地雷を順番に踏んでいって最低過ぎて自分がいたぶられてる気持ちになったよ。
楽しいはずなのに空虚さを感じてしまう気持ち、優しくされると嬉しさよりも申し訳なさを感じてしまう気持ち、離れてしまったほうが楽になれると思っても断ち切れずに嘘の笑顔を返してしまう気持ち、全部リアルすぎて胃にナイフを突き立ててぐちゃぐちゃにかき回されてる気分になりました。
例のシーンは手首かなって思ってたら吊ってたのがエグすぎるよ。
手首なら描写しなくてもいくらでもごまかしが効くよねくらいに身構えてたらあそこまでダイレクトに見せつけてくると思ってなかったし…怖すぎる……
しかもサヨリちゃんは、きっと主人公が最初に見つけるってわかってて申し訳無さと一緒に「自分のことを忘れないで」って呪いをかけようとしてると思うんだ。
