Railfanning at Glenview, Illinois. Empire Builder, Hiawatha, and Metra Trains

Glenview station located along the Metra Milwaukee District North Line is the one intermediate suburban stop for Amtrak's northern services from Chicago, namely the Hiawatha Service to Milwaukee, the Borealis to St. Paul, and the Empire Builder to Seattle and Portland. Additionally, it is an express stop for Metra with nearly every Metra train that passes through stopping here, including some rush hour trains that run nonstop between Glenview and Western Avenue. The station building here is modern, having been constructed in the 1990s, however the architecture was designed to closely resemble an original Milwaukee Road structure and thus remains one of the prettier-looking depots on this line despite the fact that it is not historic.
