I believe trunks turned super Saiyan against cell and the other androids because he's not one to underestimate an opponent. He's also not one to enjoy balanced fights. He goes all out to kill
I agree but considering this is a Trunks who has never seen Cell before, he absolutely wouldn't have any clue that this was in fact another Android from Gero. I know the anime shows a brief fight between Trunks and Cell...but I view that as artistic interpretation more than anything. In reality I can see Cell not even fighting Trunks, just suppressing his Ki, sneaking up on him and going immediately for the life drain when Trunks has his guard down. Ultimately doesn't really matter if Trunks is stronger even in his base. Characters in Dragon ball can be fatally wounded by surprise attacks from weaker opponents (Goku in super smh)
Timeline A: Goku kills Freeza, dies of a heart virus, then everybody is killed by the Androids. Trunks is having trouble with the Androids. Following the events of Timeline B, Trunks returns to this timeline, de-activates the Androids, and then is killed by Cell. Cell travels to Timeline C. Timeline B: Trunks goes back in time, Krillin and Trunks find Gero's blueprints. They deactivate the Androids. Cell isn't there to interrupt this plan. We never see this timeline. Presumably, several years later Cell will emerge (unless killed by Krillin at the lab). Timeline C: Cell travels to this timeline. As Trunks had already travelled back in Cell's timeline, Trunks is in this parallel timeline. This is the main anime timeline. Timeline D: Very similar to Timeline A, except this version of Trunks returns from Timeline C rather than Timeline B, meaning that he trained to defeat Cell, and ultimately easily destroys the Androids and Cell upon his return.
@@justinfrazier9555 you got to timeline C and D mixed up, since the cell from timeline A goes a year before trunks from timeline A hr can create the alternate timeline C, timeline C becomes the future trunks timeline we know, is when trunks go back in time in timeline C that he creates the D timeline. That means that there is a Cell duplicate in timeline C that we never see maybe got killed on the Goku and Frieza fight since he was in a larva state.
To add to this, kami piccolo was very surprised cell could suppress his energy after imperfect cell used the solar flare. So I completely agree, trunks would not have even thought to power up to his ss form. Cell utterly had the element of surprise on his hand for sure.
Ima have to disagree on this one. The trunks that cell killed is no where near as strong as ascended trunks. You gotta remember ascended trunks could’ve easily killed Semi perfect cell. I don’t care what kind of element of surprise cell had on him. There’s just to wide of a power gap for that to play a factor. Trunks likely went SSJ not because he can’t kill them in base form but because of the threat of the androids/cell self destructing. So killing them in SSJ was most efficient
You are right and this Trunks does not know Cell so that would mean that there is no Cell in the unseen timeline where Trunks went because Cell from the future had not yet killed the original Trunks
Facts, in fact Cell k*lled Trunks before he ever even had knowledge of the Hyperbolic time chamber, and also keep in mind, even in his first form, Cell was more powerful than any character in the series not named Piccolo. It’s very likely he probably k*lled trunks relatively easily at this particular point.
Given the amount of trauma Trunks has been through he's likely the only saiyan who doesn't play with his food and does go full power and ends whatever is in front of him right there.
@@antoniomcneary but still he doesn't know who cell is and how would he think that cell is powerful or not he could also assume that he'-tunks is the strongest person in that timeline tho
I think Trunks, from whom Cell stole the time machine, is Trunks who went to the past after telling Goku about the androids and the virus, he went back and defeated the androids with the remote, he lived quietly in the future without disturbing the past, afraid to disturb the flow of time, then he decided to go back to tell the Z fighters about his achievement and to check if they actually defeated the androids but was killed by Cell. Cell went back a year before the original Trunks arrived, thereby creating a new universe from which the second Trunks arrived, who was surprised that there is an android 19 in this universe. But he is completely unaware that he is not the original.
@@lilian6613Both variants of Trunks planned to reinforce the Dragon Team once the Androids showed up. This is also based on the fact that in the Future timelines, the time machine takes a long ass time to get fuel for a round trip. And the multiple timelines run on San Dimas rules when it comes to time passing; 3 years pass simultaneously for Past and Future
I dont buy that original Trunks trained to defeat 17 and 18 , it could be that he went on a hunch or by accident and found the lab or someone else found it and told him or Bulma , either way it sounds more possbile that way. If he were stronger then either of 17 and 18 Cell wouldnt have won , simply because at most SSJ is x50 perhaps less since Toriyama admited he kind of went overboard , so even if Cell would sneak if Trunks could go beyond SSJ he would recover and kill him, it takes a second to turn SSJ not a whole sequence.
This question has been going through my head lately. What a coincidence. I even commented in one of your old videos to “they should make an movie or a special episode on the unseen timeline”
I do agree with this base not being enough assessment, also it’s poetic really. As you say in the end “two Trunks killed by 1 Cell” same goes for “two Cells killed by 1 Trunks” (the imperfect one he goes back to kill after killing the androids and the one in the larvae state in the lab he kills alongside Krillin)
I think Trunks shouldve known better than to not power up to his SSJ while some weird bug man came around, right after the catastrophy that happened with androids. He shouldve known that anything can happen (as we saw with Zamasu) and not make a stupid mistake such as putting his guard down after he defeated androids, that doesnt seem like Trunks. Same as for him going SSJ against androids and Cell. Doesnt matter if he can beat them in his base form or not, he does not want to fuck around and find out, so he uses his SSJ immediatelly to quickly dispose of them, that is who Trunks is. Same thing with how he handled Frieza and King Cold.
It’s easy to say how that version of Trunks “should’ve acted” in retrospect. However, the androids were the biggest threat to earth that version of Trunks has ever known his entire life. He never experienced anything else and *that* problem was solved. The one we know had to experience the uncertainties and freaking die to fully grasp the situation. Both had to learn from experience, one simply didn’t get enough.
@@EWOODJ sure, but that trunks killed king cold and frieza and still didnt hold back, didnt use base and quickly took care of them. So i think he does know the stakes, and still shouldnt take anything lightly. I just think it couldve been handled better.
1st form Cell was stronger than any Super Saiyan alive at that point, which is confirmed by him being on par with Kami Fused Piccolo. I remember Goku even mentioning once he awakened from his heart affliction that he stood no chance against Cell or the Androids unless he ascended (with SSJ Goku and Trunks being about the same level at the time). My point, it’s very plausible Cell k*lled Trunks relatively easily at this point, especially if he caught him off guard.
One think to keep in mind as well is that Trunks is a lot more cautious than the other Z fighters. Trunks isn't one to hold back without a reason (for example, he held back his super buff form because he was afraid of his father finding out Trunks was stronger). So in the case of the future, I think it's important to note that Trunks going Super Saiyan out of necessity is speculation, one of which we don't know one way or the other. You could be right, but we don't know for sure unless it's addressed specifically. Also, that flashback in the anime makes no sense. Why would Trunks let himself get killed in base without transforming? Yes he's caught off guard, but we see Trunks actually attack and fail. If he had time to attack, then he had time to transform. It's not like Cell rushed him and just tried to kill Trunks faster than he could blink.
It’s sad that the Future Trunks from Cell’s timeline is unfortunately the original timeline due to how the world was suppose to end look like if it wasn’t for Future Trunks’s interference with time traveling, both Cell and Future Trunks’s timeline had technically the same outcome up until the point where Cell meets Future Trunks. In Cell’s timeline he killed Future Trunks because he didn’t get the power increase from the training he did with Vegeta, but in Future Trunks’s timeline he got the power increase instead of using the emergency shutoff switch to defeat the androids.
It cracks me up how people try so hard to deny that cells timeline is the original when in fact it is, people just have a hard time accepting the fact the original timeline of the Dragonball universe ended with Trunks dying to cell and cell stealing the time machine escaping to the Main timeline we know.
It ends with Zeno easing that universe from that timeline as well since no top is mentioned I see Buu might be revived eventually with Beerus maybe taking care of it but the galactic patrol might do something
That doesn't prove it's the original. That was just nonsense you're speculating on.. did tori state it was the "original" cause if we've seen one the full show then that's the original from our perspective cause there's an infinite amount of time lines and finding the "original" is a matter of perspective. Our perspective is the one we follow in the show so that's our original
@@robertpaulson3897 since cell traveled back 1 year prior to the future Trunks we know, his timeline would be the first out of all 4 timelines that we know of and ours main timeline is the 4th
@@brandonnelson-ey5mt no.. his timeline is just a timeline from a point of which he traveled from. It doesn't make it the first due to the point he left.
@@robertpaulson3897 That timeline is the original unaltered one without Trunks or anybody traveling back to stop Frieza give Goku the antidote warn everyone about the future etc.
@@lilian6613 they knew that the androids were made by the Red Ribbon army, they could've looked for abandoned bases and hideouts to find information on them. Or send drones to look for the hideout while Bulma focuses on the time machine. Just finding the blueprints of the Androids would've helped Bulma exploit their weaknesses.
I would say yes, we know when Goku's guard is down he can be hurt by the most simple things that can hurt a human much more. If he would survive in the blast zone? Is very low change of possible, but not for a very long time.
Like everyone else has pointed out, Future Trunks is a saiyan that doesn't play with his food. He goes from 0 to 100 real quick. He solves problems in the most direct and overwhelming way, to a fault. That same mentality screwed him over when he unlocked the Hulk form and thought raw power was all he needed. This personality trait, conveniently, carries over into Super. He killed Dabura as soon as he unlocked SSJ2 rather than letting Buu be revived and dealing with that problem. With immortal Zamasu, he was going to blow hinself up because it was the most direct way he could come up with to kill an immortal.
I was going to bring up Broly and Tarble but I realized Broly has no means of reproduction and I don't even know if Tarble could have kids with his wife.
Trunks maybe could defeat in his base, but he's the kind of character that goes full power to kill a serious threat right? He'd have to put effort to defeat in his base but he wanted to make a point by terrifying them on how easy it was. He couldn't risk the mission after all that, although if Goku was in his place and had the same power level, regardless if he could beat in his base or not he'd likely try to.
When it comes to Trunks going super sayain to defeat his androids, I think it is definitely possible he didn't need super sayain to do it. Trunks is the kind of character who takes no chances. He doesn't let the enemy power up. He doesn't give them a chance to see if they can match him in strength. He is all about damage mitigation and taking out threats swiftly and precisely to the best of his ability. I wouldn't put it past him to go super sayain to overkill them just to make sure there was no chance they could fight back.
I think this video came from me asking in one of your other videos about how weak Trunks in that timeline was if he was killed by Cell. If not it’s still worth watching.
Trunks deactivated the androids. Cell stated this when Trunks and Cell fought after he first turned perfect. And told Trunks how he got to the past. " i found out that they had been deactivated, I believe I have u to thank for that trunks"
What you said is true enough, seeing as we even saw one of Frieza's weakest minions almost kill Goku with a ring lazer when his guard was down.Despite the fact Goku would be 10,000 times stronger then the minion if he was normally powered up to SSJ god blue,he still almost got one shotted because of the element of surprise. So imperfect Cell killing Trunks despite the later being the strongest makes some sense. But to add my own two cents I was always under the impression that the Trunks we saw go though the Cell games in the main storyline was much stronger then the one from the original timeline that got killed by imperfect Cell. For all we know orginal Trunks might have just gotten strong enough to barely beat the androids. But since he never met Cell before that meant he likely didn't train twice in the room of spirit and time with his father like he does in the main storyline.
Is Trunks even able/good at sensing energy? After Gohan dies, the person with the highest ki other than himself is like Bulma, since you can't sense the androids. Would he even have a reason or a reference to learn to sense ki without training with everyone in the past? Especially if he takes them out with the remote. Also could you imagine how screwed everyone would have been if cell knew if he could regenerate before fighting Piccolo? He could have ripped off his limbs to fit into the time machine, and then probably just have eaten freeza and king cold instead of going larval and eating random humans.
That was always my big problem with that situation. If he was strong enough to kill 17 and 18, he was definitely strong enough to kill cell by that point
When they lower their power level to 5 thats a regular human level so they can be ended then. Remember when the Frieza soldier read his power level when he was suppressed?
@@devenjordan09 Like in mortal kombat deadly alliance how quan chi throws a green skull at liu kang behind his back, and shang tsung is able to snap his neck. That's how i would picture it the neck snapping part not the combat scene. Side note those tails are pretty strong goku would have been cooked in nameck if he wasn't such a fighting genius and bit freezas tail before... (head poppeed like a "corkscrew") - line said by freeza... not exact line but u get the idea
My opinion is that Trunks didn’t need the SSJ form to beat the Androids and Cell. I think he did it to expedite the process. Also as a FU to them. “Oh I wasn’t able to beat you as a SSJ last time? What about now, MF?!” Ya know?
Wait but trunks didn't know who cell was an he didn't go ssj against friezas soldiers and one of them looked like a green lizard alien and trunks wouldn't know how strong cell would be sooooo...
11:38 I always saw this as a typical character trait for the *Future Trunks* . He doesn’t fight for fun or pride but for survival, as being the only one left. Trunks probably would’ve gone SS3 if he knew how to just in order to make sure that not a single “cell of Cell” survives.
I would love for you to do what would happen if the Senzu Beans never went extinct in future cells timeline and Future trunks timeline. And if cell still managed to go back in time if they Senzu Beans never went extinct.
The Trunks that killed Cell is rhe second Trunks that came back the second time and trained, he knows about him because of prior events. The Trunks that Cell kills is the original we saw that fought Goku. The Trunks that killed Cell already had the knowledge of Cell that the first Trunks didn't, hence why he was killed and this Trunks wasn't. Trunks immediately powered up because he knew the threat Cell was, saw how dicking around works against you like Gohan toyed with Cell, and wanted eliminate the threat as fast as possible.
Even using the Piccolo argument, Cell caught Piccolo off guard, which is how he even slurped up his arm. Piccolo can regenerate while Trunks can't. We've also seen that before his reveal that Cell in his original form is stealthy and sneaky. Cell was shocked that Trunks not only knew who he was but that he was there lurking. Trunks power or not, I genuinely believe that all Cell had to do was catch Trunk without him noticing and defeat him easily. It's hard to beat Trunks when he knew you're coming, knew what you were beforehand, and knew at least to be safe to go SSJ to defeat Cell whether he needed to or not.
I recall a video about this before. The Trunks that went through the training and fights in the past had increased strength and battle instincts. Imperfect Cell would have to get very lucky to kill Trunks after catching him off-guard. Catching him by surprise would be hard to do, because Trunks should be able to sense Cell. Maybe he could have killed Cell in base form, maybe, but if he could, we probably wouldn't know it, because Trunks is known for keeoing fights as short as possible (probably to minimize the risk of something going wrong). He'd have to go SS to make sure he got rid of Cell (and the future androids before that) to get rid of the threat ASAP.
Before watching video: Trunks could have found the lab and had bulma make a remote to disable the androids using the plans for 17 or 18. Cell might have already left the lab at that point. This would also make sense to why he would go back to the past to tell them.
I really think it goes like this. Original timeline, someone from universe 12 altered time thus creating a second time ring. Second Time ring is the REAL original timeline. Everyone dies except for Gohan. Gohan trains trunks. 12 year old trunks dies from battle with Androids. Gohan evolves to SS2 at this point. Destroys 18 and then 17. Brings dead trunk’s body to Bulma. Bulma mourns for dead trunks. Then angered, and asks Gohan where those destroyed android bodies are. Searches for android parts. Finds memory card. Looks through android memories. Find memory of Dr.Gero’s base. Bulma and Gohan searches base and finds blueprints to shutdown androids. Years later. Bulma finishes Time Machine. Tells Gohan to go back in time to one year before Frieza arrives on Earth to destroy Dr.Geros base before androids could be released, leaves heart virus medicine to Goku and leave blueprint on how to deactivate androids as third backup. Bulma then tells Gohan the instructions for Time Machine and how the setting is already preset to the day of destination previously mentioned. As Bulma climbs down from Time Machine, she doesn’t notice Gohan pressing buttons on Time Machine. As this Gohan prepares to leave they wave each other goodbye and off Gohan goes. Third time ring. The one where future cell is from. This timeline originally follows the same path as “History of trunks”. Gohan trains 12 year old trunks. Trunks feels like his fighting is not very good. Gohan offers a sword to help with combat training and tells story of how Piccolo trained him and gave young Gohan a sword, thus how Trunks is attached to fighting with a sword. Eventually, after training Trunks wakes up near campfire just like “history of trunks”. Then they hear nearby explosion from 17 and 18. As they prepare to fly away to fight androids. This Gohan proceeds to knockout this Trunks and takes off to fight androids alone. Moments later, trunks wakes up again to bon fire and Gohan is there chilling at bonfire. Trunks says “i just had the weirdest dream”. Then they hear nearby explosions. Trunks “Whoa... Dejavu.” Then Gohan knocks out Trunks again. This Gohan is actually the Gohan from 2nd time ring timeline. Knocking Trunks out once more to keep him out the fight. Third timeline Gohan dies from fight during this timeline. This 3rd timeline trunks wakes up AGAIN and finds HIS Gohan’s body cold and lifeless from losing to Androids. 2nd timeline Gohan watches from distance and hides his Ki and says “you are the Hope of the world Trunks. Live on and save this world”. Then goes off and drops off blueprints to Capsule corps in secrecy and heart virus medicine and returns to his timeline thus creating a third time ring. Years later 3rd timeline bulma builds remote shutdown device. Trunks a 15 year teenager now, prideful and determine to defeat the androids this time around and claiming his super saiyan power is enough to defeat them and that he doesn’t need the remote device. Bulma angered and says “so was Gohan and even he couldn’t defeat those androids.” Trunks proceeds to take on Androids and lose. Comes back to capsule corp and wishing for remote device. Attempts to fight androids again and uses remote shutdown device and blowing their parts to pieces and finally defeats the androids of this timeline. A year later as Trunks prepares to use Time Machine to go back to a year before Frieza’s arrival on Earth. 3rd timeline cell arrives and defeats the Trunks of this 3rd timeline. This timeline trunks is unaware of cell and didn’t go super saiyan. This cell proceeds to press a single button and goes back in time to fifth timeline where we saw in anime and manga. 4th timeline trunks is the future Trunks who came back and fought Frieza in anime/manga and gave heart virus medicine to Goku. Thus a total of FIVE time rings. The sixth is created from Beerus destroying Zamasu. This is the most logical theory I came up with. 2nd timeline Gohan does not have enough fuel to go back even further in time and he can’t cause third timeline is set with Trunks living(for a while) forcing 2nd timeline Gohan to return to his timeline so that Trunks can live on. I feel this is even good enough that i already wrote a screenplay for this. But nobody is going to like the ending watching 3rd timeline Trunks die at the end of the movie. But it will explain everything.
I read your whole theory but it sounds more like an alternative story that you made up than what actually happened. I read your comment and there are several things that don't make sense to me: the 1st time ring is silver because it's the original timeline and a kaioshin from universe 10 went back in time and created a 2nd green ring that corresponds to the 2nd timeline which proves you're right about that but the rest doesn't make any sense. So you think that the 2nd timeline is the timeline where Trunks dies at the age of 12 and gohan transforms into SSJ2??? Ok let's say that's true why would Bulma build a device to stop the androids if Gohan has to destroy Dr Gero's base,so if gohan has to destroy Dr Gero's base then the device to disable the androids would be useless right ???? How can the history of the 3rd timeline and the second timeline be completely different? What change in time BEFORE the year 767 could have changed Trunks' destiny in the 3rd Timeline compared to the 2nd Timeline???? How the hell did Cell end up in the timeline where a Trunks from the future would come 1 year after Cell in 763??? Because you're not talking about any time-travelling trunks in the 1st, 2nd or 3rd Timeline, are you? Doesn't Cell create the timeline we're following??? Because Cell is absolutely not the reason future trunks we know came in 764. he is simply the reason why trunks decides to stay which means that there is a previous timeline where Cell was not there to force trunks to stay and the fact that Cell killed trunks and stole his machine and went back in time is in reality the cause of the creation of 2 timelines and not just 1. So for you the 5 timelines are: 1: The original where a kaioshin from universe 10 uses a time machine 2: The Z Team dies, Trunks dies in the year 778 at the age of 12 and Gohan becomes SSJ2 3: The Z Team dies but Trunks survives and Gohan dies in 781 and a few years later Trunks is killed by Cell and Cell goes back in time to 763. 4: The timeline where Trunks kills Cell in 788 5 : Timeline of DBZ and DBS So there's just one thing that doesn't make sense. It's in the 3rd Timeline you said that Trunks dies at the age of 16 because Cell kills him and steals his machine. But how is that possible??? The trunks of the 4th timeline kills Cell in 788 because Cell appeared in 788. so that means that Cell would have also appeared in 788 in the 3rd timeline because this event is a kind of infinite loop. But you said that Trunks of the 2nd timeline was killed by Cell when he was 15-16 years old which means that in this timeline Cell left the Gero’s base much earlier??? how is this possible??? Because Trunks is 16 years old in the year 782 and Cell must appear in the year 788 so how could cell kill trunks in 782 while in the timeline of « history of trunks » Cell tries to kill trunks in the year 788 which is 6 years later????
remember when piccolo fought base cell he lost an arm; i imagine it would be easy for cell who can hide his energy to aproach trunks and stab him absorbing some of his energy giving him a huge power up enough maybe to kill trunks in an upfront fight
In the anime trunks is about to go back in the time machine, Bulma isn't around and imperfect cell is hiding in the darkness behind a rock. Trunks is in a more deserted / destroyed area further away from Bulma unlike in the original time line where imperfect cell hides behind the building. . IN this one , imperfect cell is in the darkness and trunks asks ''whos there?'' and charges at the shadow of a lizard [ imperfect cell] with a sword ....This gives imperfect cell a perfect opportunity for the ambush, a solar flare alone, could blind trunks and bang snap trunks with his tail wrapped around him. Conclusion, trunks was too excited to go in his time machine and wasn't even super saiyan, happy he defeated the androids and about to travel back to let the others know....That's why cell calls him ''foolish boy''..Imp.Cell had the element of surprise and trunks had the element of sleeping on the job , charging at a shadow in the darkness with his sword..Bro thought he was fighting Frieza LOL .
I thought it was the 3 problem combo. 1) Trunks same power level as when went back in time. 2) The team did find the 'off switch' for the androids so maybe he just tapped that button for the future droids meaning he didn't need to be stronger than them. Essentially a response to why taking the easy win didn't work out well in the long run. 3) nobody expected the freaky bug guy to appear and he got the 'drop' on Trunks. 1st form cell was more devious than his android included upgraded versions.
As for how he got the device? Current Bulma made one. Maybe it took longer to make, but all the droids have one and examining the remains of the 19, 20 she could have figured out how to make one. Probably more dead bodies on that timeline, but it would be a viable means rather than the gift wrapped instructions.
Can you make a video about how in both the manga and anime, Cell implies he is from a future where future trunks already went back in time and defeated frieza? Nobody talks about this and just hand waves it as a mistake.
He flat out says in the plane to gohan that he was thinking Gero had a way to stop them so he was gonna loot the ruins of the lab anyway cell appearing actuall delays it. Trunks would wait for the remote to be made with no kamiccolo and sick goku to guard. Trunks hasn't heard from vegeta about passing the ss wall so he doesn't follow him. Goku teleported to trunks first and not vegeta so he'd find a trunks alone already waiting for the remote. He'd go in with gohan while trunks waits for the nearly finished remote most likely. What happens to the androids and if they take any casualties is unknown but trunks jas a remote to take to the present.
Doesn't really change anything majorly, but there's an interesting difference in translation in the SJ/VIZ Graphic Novels. When Imp. Cell is talking about what happened to the androids in the 1st timeline, he says instead "But when I was activated in the future, Nos. 17 and 18 were gone. I don't know how. Defeated by Trunks, perhaps." It's a minor but interesting difference, since in the version you have Cell is certain of how the androids died, vs. in the SJ/VIZ GN book Cell is a little less sure.
It’s honestly sad knowing there’s a timeline , where trunks never got to save his timeline (at the time before the whole goku black stuff) , and bulma never saw her son again, she’s got no one left except chi chi 😭and the world still got fucked over by the andriods
maybe the Trunks who was killed by Cell was that trunks who left to go to the past for the first time means the one who killed Freza and King Cold which means he didn't do that because he was killed
That’s sad the trunks that died in the original. That Cell ended up dying too so that Trunks’s timeline is safe from that Cell and the androids but later it goes bad anyway again by Goku black for sure or maybe bu buu
maybe the butterfly effect from cell visiting made the unseen timeline version of trunks weaker. Cell not being there -> being able to kill the androids with bulma's self destruct button -> no need for time chamber or just way less time inside. Maybe that version of trunks was weaker than cell anyway and only beat his version of the androids with the help of past bulma's button or very minimal (non-ROSAT) training
It makes sense if he caught him off guard at base and blitzed him, I kinda always just assumed this was the case. As for ask to defeat the androids makes sense. I think that at base he was weaker than 17 & 18, but in their league, but he’d still lose at base. And as a super Saiyan, he was giving them a taste of their own medicine. At ask he was extendible untouchable to them, they had NO CHANCE, the same way Gohan had no chance. Ssj is a 50 times base multiplier after all.
So I think the version of Trunks Cell killed was a version of the present Cell didn't go to, and 17, 18, and potentially 16(due to Trunks interference) could've been the main threat. The present could've done the shutdown method or, probably to some time, chamber training, but ultimately, it's a weaker Trunks OR that Trunks could be close the our Trunks power but Future Cell had 3yrs to absorb ppl much more time then he had in the present so he may have likely been stronger than present imprefect Cell. But idk just based on Trunks outfit in that brief flashback. I want to say that Trunks didn't train in the time chamber personally. Cell gave the Z warriors and Androids a common enemy and for the Androids to hold off on killing Goku so it would be interesting how things played out in the Celless present version if 16 was the secret final boss being the strongest of the trio I feel like it could go in different directions and if they still use the Time Chamber
I believe when trunks went back to the future at the meeting Goku and the others, future Bluma already made the shutdown controller, trucks deactivate them, and then destroy their bodies.. cell push the button and it went back further time.
Still upset, Toriyama passed away before he was able to explain ALL of the Android and Cell Sagas had the MOST information that we NEVER got or never will get. There aren't inconsistencies, just ALOT of information that wasn't explained.
The only way it makes sense is if there is another unseen timeline. What I think happens is that in the original timeline, Goku dies because of the virus and everyone else is killed by the androids. Trunks goes back in time to save Goku and warn everybody. Trunks arrives again three years later and helps everyone defeat those androids, but Cell doesn't show up in this timeline. Trunks gains the power to destroy the androids in his time and returns there to deactivate them. Later he tries to go back to let everyone know that his time is okay now, but Cell ambushes him and kills him. Cell then travels back to the final timeline which we actually see. This time, Cell emerges after the androids are activated and begins his hunt for them, absorbs them, and Trunks learns all about Cell and how Cell came back in time. So this time Trunks is even more powerful, returns to the future, easily destroys his androids, and is prepared for Cell to show up and kills him too.
I think he pushed him out of the city to get him away from people and to prevent causing damage because he can't take a chance of fighting in base around the city
I just gotta add that the power scaling for how Cell even got more powerful in his imperfect form used to make a lot more sense on paper for English fans, back in the days when we had those widespread, incorrect power levels for SSJ Goku and 100% Freeza on Namek. It was widely spread that they had been around 15,000,000, which had mistakenly left off a zero. Imagining that the power levels had gone up a bit from there made Cell somehow getting a substantial amount more powerful just by absorbing people, in any timeline, seem a lot more logical. Some part of me still operates on the assumption that the power levels did go up from the tens of millions, and not 100s of millions, following Namek. Otherwise… seriously, how many “farmers with shotgun” did Cell absorb?
I think the Trunks from Cell's Timeline, used the remote to turn the androids off and then destroy. As far as how Cell killed his Trunks, many forget while Trunks is a strong individual he's not a great fighter he lacks strategy in his fights. I'm guessing he saw Cell was caught off guard charged him with sword drawn, while Cell went full power and took him out quickly. We've seen this in many forms when total surprised even our strongest heros can be beaten. Look at Piccolo in Dead Zone he's stronger than Garlic Jr.'s men yet they caught him off guard and beat him. Look at Yamcha with the Saibermen caught off guard he was beaten. Cell was no different.
Thats a paradox how did he not know that cell was there in the original timeline? Especially if it played out the exact same way as what we saw in the anime
Caught off guard any of the z fighters are killable. I don't necessarily think he had to be ssj to beat them but he is pragmatic and wouldn't risk it for any reason or the potential lucky shot so he went all out with his strength, he shows this when he and Vegeta fight cell in the main timeline.
So I haven't read the Manga or all of the guides. Does toriyama state specifically which time line is the original one? Or is that youtube creators and fan base head Canon? In multiverse theory time lines branch based on decisions so like there an infinite amount of time-lines so if we're watching a certain one from our perspective that's the original even if there's interference from another that's closely tied to the one we're watching.
The funny thing is that what timeline did TLA Trunks go to? Because if TLA Cell went back in time and landed in TLC (Main cont) and the Trunks the gave Goku the virus medication is clearly from TLB. Then TLA Trunks went to a different timeline. (Just going to call it timeline D. So why did the time machine go to two different timelines?
Nah this trunks created a timeline like what we saw, except there is no future cell, so events unfold differently. After going to gero's lab, he decides to take the plans for android 17 to bulma himself,(in the other time he decides to follow his father to find a way to ascend). Remember that piccolo doesn't necessarily Fuse with kami without cell, and piccolo new strength angers vegeta which drives him. So he gets bulma to make the shut down device, travels to his time to test it, destroys them when they're defenseless, and when he goes to use his time machine, cell shows up. And this trunks isn't strong enough. Makes sense to me, and trunks/krillin would've investigated gero's lab with or without cell being there, just to get some kind of edge on the androids. Also trunks went ssj against the androids and cell, just to make sure. He couldn't leave anything to chance. Only mystery is the time machine being set earlier than goku's arrival for cell to use.....Why go back further a second time?
Whoa wait aa minute, exactly who is saying they (Trunks, Vegeta, Goku, Gohan) were stronger than the Androids in base form after the their time chamber training??? I hope no one seriously thought that.
There's every chance that 'unseen timeline' Trunks was notably weaker. He never trained to beat Perfect Cell, because he never met Cell. He only trained to beat the Androids, and may not have even fought them, using the shutdown device instead. So Imperfect Cell being able to overpower him, especially in a surprise attack, is pretty believable. Whereas 'our' Future Trunks DID train to fight Perfect Cell, so of course he could easily beat Imperfect Cell and the Androids.
He caught him with his trunks down...

Exactly

Youre voice is so nice it helps me to sleep and yeah you make good stuff
Yeah Trunks doesn't play with his enemies like Goku and Vegeta does. At this stage he was overpowered.
Wait but he didn't know who cell was an he didn't turn super sayain against a freeza soldier that was a green lizard alien thing sooooo...

@@antoniomcneary but still he doesn't know who cell is and how would he think that cell is powerful or not he could also assume that he'-tunks is the strongest person in that timeline tho
Cell explains why he went One year prior to the event. It's because he needed that time to regrow again from the larvae state
I think Trunks, from whom Cell stole the time machine, is Trunks who went to the past after telling Goku about the androids and the virus, he went back and defeated the androids with the remote, he lived quietly in the future without disturbing the past, afraid to disturb the flow of time, then he decided to go back to tell the Z fighters about his achievement and to check if they actually defeated the androids but was killed by Cell. Cell went back a year before the original Trunks arrived, thereby creating a new universe from which the second Trunks arrived, who was surprised that there is an android 19 in this universe. But he is completely unaware that he is not the original.
Why did this original Trunks wait 3 years before deciding to take the time machine to warn the Z fighters from the unseen timeline??
"a lot more to come in the future...trunks." lmao
Trunks was caught lacking when the opps ran up on him
I do agree with this base not being enough assessment, also it’s poetic really. As you say in the end “two Trunks killed by 1 Cell” same goes for “two Cells killed by 1 Trunks” (the imperfect one he goes back to kill after killing the androids and the one in the larvae state in the lab he kills alongside Krillin)
Dude, this is a blast from the past, I loved the video that @Qaaman made about this like 10 years ago!
Crazy how Cell and Trunks killed each other two times across all timelines
That's probably true. We saw how Cell in this form was sneaky as hell !
It cracks me up how people try so hard to deny that cells timeline is the original when in fact it is, people just have a hard time accepting the fact the original timeline of the Dragonball universe ended with Trunks dying to cell and cell stealing the time machine escaping to the Main timeline we know.
It ends with Zeno easing that universe from that timeline as well since no top is mentioned

I've always wondered the same thing. It's a disturbing thing that I never got an answer to.
You, my friend, have excellent music taste, if that poster by your window is anything to go by.
Strangled

That was always my big problem with that situation. If he was strong enough to kill 17 and 18, he was definitely strong enough to kill cell by that point
When they lower their power level to 5 thats a regular human level so they can be ended then. Remember when the Frieza soldier read his power level when he was suppressed?

I always saw this as a typical character trait for the *Future Trunks* . He doesn’t fight for fun or pride but for survival, as being the only one left. Trunks probably would’ve gone SS3 if he knew how to just in order to make sure that not a single “cell of Cell” survives.

Trunks immediately powered up because he knew the threat Cell was, saw how dicking around works against you like Gohan toyed with Cell, and wanted eliminate the threat as fast as possible.
some great n64 games there, very nice.
careful trunks, your vegeta is showing
Cell brought Diddy with him
Before watching video:
Trunks could have found the lab and had bulma make a remote to disable the androids using the plans for 17 or 18.
I read your comment and there are several things that don't make sense to me:
the 1st time ring is silver because it's the original timeline and a kaioshin from universe 10 went back in time and created a 2nd green ring that corresponds to the 2nd timeline which proves you're right about that but the rest doesn't make any sense.
So for you the 5 timelines are:
1: The original where a kaioshin from universe 10 uses a time machine
2: The Z Team dies, Trunks dies in the year 778 at the age of 12 and Gohan becomes SSJ2
3: The Z Team dies but Trunks survives and Gohan dies in 781 and a few years later Trunks is killed by Cell and Cell goes back in time to 763.
4: The timeline where Trunks kills Cell in 788
5 : Timeline of DBZ and DBS
So there's just one thing that doesn't make sense.
Crazy how the cell that the Z Fighters actually are fighting is a cell from the future that went back to the past then went back to a further past.
Defeated by Trunks, perhaps."
It's a minor but interesting difference, since in the version you have Cell is certain of how the androids died, vs. in the SJ/VIZ GN book Cell is a little less sure.
It’s honestly sad knowing there’s a timeline , where trunks never got to save his timeline (at the time before the whole goku black stuff) , and bulma never saw her son again, she’s got no one left except chi chi 😭and the world still got fucked over by the andriods
maybe the Trunks who was killed by Cell was that trunks who left to go to the past for the first time
means the one who killed Freza and King Cold which means he didn't do that because he was killed
He popped the trunk
Chapter 420: Peace for the future
Marijuana brings peace confirmed. 420 blaze it 😂
This a re-upload? Sure u heard you talk about already
Please refer to cell as random lizard bug man henceforth
at the time of cell arrival he was giving of the ki of other people.....trunks was fooled by this and was killed/caught offguard

Killing 17 and 18 in ssj is symbolic not a requirement. Gohan always faced them in ssj so it's only fitting that trunks did as well
Thats a paradox how did he not know that cell was there in the original timeline? Especially if it played out the exact same way as what we saw in the anime
Caught off guard any of the z fighters are killable. I don't necessarily think he had to be ssj to beat them but he is pragmatic and wouldn't risk it for any reason or the potential lucky shot so he went all out with his strength, he shows this when he and Vegeta fight cell in the main timeline.
I remember as a kid thinking Cell absorbed Trunks.
So Trunks and Cell rawdog doggystylin each other in different timelines 🤷
If our trunks got killed by cell in his timeline would that create an infinite loop of cell and trunks and timelines?
Invited him to a *diddy party*
Guard!
@@Ginko_Sakata 😂
Most likely he was ambushed
Also I wonder if trunks still goes to the time chamber without cell being there
