@@Dante19883 Its a good idea to make a football comic hero, because it would make football players get into comics and get along with other comic readers rather than bullying them haha
Dude, WTH? You think because I collect comic books, I don't like football. I love football. Superpro sucks though. Not good to make assumptions of your viewers.
lol yeah, I didn’t mean to over generalize, I know there comic and football fans out there. Yes, super pro just seems like a lame idea. Apparently Fabian Nicenza just did it to score free football tickets lol
Re-title: “Top 20 Things That Offend Me in Comics” Also, a LOT of people like both sports and comic books. Why not go into detail about WHY NFL SuperPro was a bad comic? I’ve never read it, so that would be exactly the type of info I’m after when I click on a video like this.
Seems like commenters are being offended over essentially nothing. This is a subjective list, books HE feels are bad, it doesn't seem like an offended list. I guess people are too sensitive.
Oh boy I think I missed it... I mentioned the ultimates but not ultimatum.. I’ll have I check it out and see how bad it is lol thanks for the suggestion
This is the first time I have seen someone really not like the swimsuit issues they are just fun pin-ups of characters, some of which were quite funny to like the ghost rider one.
I (mostly) agree with your list, with the exception of #19. US:1 was meant to be a stand-alone 12 issue series. The art is decent. The characters are kind of fun. The story is predictable, but there is an end to it. And the characters introduced in this series have gone on to do other things in the Marvel universe. It's not a bad read, actually.
One More Day and just about everything that came after that ruined Peter Parker / Spider-Man for me. Stories like that really made it seem like writers weren’t willing to allow him to grow up and evolve, like, he was actively choosing to be less than he could and that deeply frustrated me.
The Spider-Man book where the bad guy ATE Peter Parker's eye and he cocooned himself in a hospital bed and regrew his eye broke me! I gave up Spider-Man after that!
One you may have forgotten was Identity Disk a mini series Marvel did to compete with Identity Crisis. It’s basically the Usual Suspects in Marvel. Low tier marvel villains come together by mysterious man who wants to send them on a mission to recover a computer disk with every heroes secret identity on it. It was a blatant Usual Suspects rip off and was awful
Oh wow! That’s does sound pretty lame. I will have to include that if I ever make another one of these! Thanks for the suggestion and thanks for watching and commenting!
Good report, Dante. You're starting to relax more on camera and your videos keep getting better. FYI, "U.S. 1" was a comic series in the early 80s created only to boost toy sales of a line of semi-truck toys (called U.S. 1) I believe made by Hasbro. They weren't necessarily trying to capitalize on just "Smokey and the Bandit" (RIP Burt), but rather the whole semi truck craze of the 70s and early 80s. During the 70s, Clint Eastwood had a few trucking movies like "Any Which Way But Loose", there were trucking TV shows like "BJ and the Bear", hell.. even "Knight Rider" had a cool semi they used as a mobile base of operations. Trucking and CB culture was everywhere. The U.S. 1 toys came in at the tail end of the trucking craze, and even Marvel couldn't boost toy sales. Good thing G.I. Joe came along. :) Fun Fact: G.I. Joe #1 was my first real comic that started my collection. (not counting Richie Rich and Casper comics I read as a kid) Hey how about a video like "Top ten comics based on toys"? G.I. Joe, Transformers, ROM, Micronauts, My Little Pony... (I had a problem typing that last one with a straight face) ;)
Hey Jeff! Awesome info! I always learn something from your comments. I didn’t about the toys associated with that comic. So cool to know. Awesome suggestion about comics based on toys, I will have to look into that! That’s cool about the GI comic that started your comic collection. I wish I had a story like that. My first comic was a Dark Knight Returns trade paperback from when I was 13 lol Thanks as always for taking the time to watch and comment!
I had every issue of Micronauts AND two big boxes of the toys. Both amazing stuff, that I sold for a pretty penny later. I saw they'd re-released the toys a few years ago. I passed them up, as my tastes have grown in other directions. Still, love to see them mentioned anywhere!
And the more I think 🤔 about it its been awhile since I did my research on some comic book chapters but I think Eddie brock played Football and we can't forget are boy Clark Kent played football in high school as well. I bet the more research we do we will find more athletes in the comic book universe Ooooo yaaaa cant forget are old school Flash Gordon 😉 lol 😆
many DC titles during the late 60's & 70's were tough to get through compared to what Marvel was doing at the time. I was always a DC guy, but bought many Marvel titles because the stories were great.
That’s exactly how I feel! I love DC too. Batman is my favourite, but I only start really enjoying DC content in the 80s and above. No one could touch Marvel in the 60s and 70s. I don’t bother with anything DC before 1980. Before 1980, it’s mostly Marvel for me lol
"Comic books and football do not go together." Tell that to the excellent manga, Eyeshield 21. It's interesting how many good writers put out completely terrible books and it's not always editorial's fault (though sometimes it definitely is). Sin's Past for instance was supposed to be Gwen Stacy secretly having Peter's kids which is still kind of weird but more plausible and interesting. Then Joe Quesada barged in and complained it would age Peter (the same guy who thought Peter being married made him too old and unrelatable so forced One More Day onto us) and thought it would be so rad if Norman Osborn was the father. Fucking hell.
Ironically Spiderman the clone saga which was correctly categorized as one of the worst storylines ever also gave us one of the best individual Spidey stories ever in ASM which was the death of Aunt May wherein she confesses to Peter that she knows and knew for a long time that Peter was Spiderman and that she loves him and is proud of him... proving that the old lady wasn't the ignorant old woman that she pretended to be but rather dumb as a fox. The story ends with her dying with Peter and MJ at her bedside (at home in her house) and a pan out shot shows Ben Reilly (peter's clone) sitting on top of the house crying in costume at her death because Peter and Ben have all the shared memories of being raised by May. This story was written by Stan Lee and beautifully illustrated by the iconic Spiderman Artist John Romita Sr.. Of course they couldn't let this be true and this story was undone in years to come but it was still a great end to a classic character.
Absolutely! Actually, the clone saga started off really good.. it was when they continued to drag the story on that things got really bad... yes, the aunt may stuff was great!
@@Dante19883 yes I agree the clone saga did start off really good... and to be fair there were some really good stories in the clone saga... I remember the issues with Ben Reilly vs Vemon being really good. I'm sure you know the purpose of the clone saga though right? It was written to replace Peter as Spiderman.. it was as you have said supposed to have been a short story arc, but the goal was to replace Peter. Seems they wanted Peter to be single again but they couldn't figure out how to get rid of MJ. Their idea was to have Ben be the real Peter and for Peter to be the clone and for Peter and MJ to walk away to live their lives together in parts unknown leaving Ben back as the title character. (We saw this single Peter concept come to life in Brand New Day). Personally I think the idea stinks that they felt that Spiderman can only be a good character if he is young, single poor Spiderman. What are your thoughts on this? Maybe you could do a video on the clone saga, it would be a lot of work but it could be fun for someone that didn't experience the 2 years arc.
I have nothing against sexy heroes, I just think it’s kind of superficial. But that’s just my opinion. We don’t have to like the same things in our comic reading. Thanks for watching and commenting!

I am a simple girl. If I see a "Worst comic books ever" list I click it. And yes, those are pretty terrible comics. So good job (: Throwing in Ultimatum as a unhonerable mention because of its vileness, gore and overall mean-spiritedness.
Hi Anne! Thank you so much for you kind words, I appreciate it, and yes, Ultimatum is really bad lol thank for taking the time to watch and comment! Cheers!
Ah Countdown to Infinite Crisis. Where Jimmy got uncontrollably dangerous powers, got a bug lady to crush on him then had the bug lady dump him after losing the powers. And that's just part of the mess of this
Well at least Aunt May wasn't in the swimsuit books. Honestly I couldn't care about the swimsuit books at all, they aren't marketed towards me. I think it was a whole trend at the time.
It rather amazes me that you can call yourself a comic book geek and ask "What's with DC and all these Crises?" Fercryin'outloud, they've only been doing stories entitled "Crisis on [Somewhere]" since 1963! Most of them were JLA/JSA team-ups, and then after the big Crisis in 1985/6, it became the code-word for some of their big crossover events. Of course, if you already know this (and I find it hard to think that you don't), then why ask the question?
Also: roughly how many times was Gwen Stacy killed and then brought back to life/discovered alive, etc. I remember when she died the first time but that was back in '71; no way Marvel would let her rest in peace for 48 years if there was a buck to be squeezed out of her that they'd overlooked
#20 is drawn by the legendary Dan Barry. This guy was an inspiration to most of the now considered "Hall of Fame" comic artists. Cheese-factor aside, that alone makes me want to search it out. Also, #20 was written by Paul S. Newman, who's considered the most prolific comic book writer in history, yes in front of Stan Lee and Otto Binder. #14 I purchased off the shelve and remember reading it as a kid and thinking about the alluded to rape, "That's not right and the Avengers don't seem to care." Made me feel icky even back then. The rest are as good at being bad as any others I can think of...
Hey there! Thanks for that info.. I didn’t know about a lot of what you shared. I’m glad you noticed that the avengers did nothing about ms marvel and I’m glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers!
Touche. I stopped my subscription to comics after 35 years when the whole mess with Spidey started. Revealing his identity. Then cutting a deal with Mephisto, then the whole Gwen Stacy mess. Sigh.
Love your videos, man! Keep up the good work. I have an idea for a video: a top 10/20/whatever of the best, coolest, most powerful names of storylines/storyarks (things like Demon in a Bottle, The Long Halloween, Secret Wars, Crisis on Infinite Earth, and so on). That would be awesome. Also, do you watch the show Atop The Fourth Wall? You should make a crossover with Linkara :)
Thanks so much Tiago! I can’t tell you how appreciative I am of your positive feedback and the time you take to watch and comment. That is an awesome suggestion for an episode. I would love to do a team up with them, but they are much bigger than my channel lol maybe if I get some growth on this channel I will get some courage to ask lol team up episodes are definitely down the line, I think I just need some more time to grow the channel lol thanks again!
@@Dante19883 You're welcome, dude! Yes, you should definitely check out Linkara and AT4W. He and his show are the most famous on the internet when it comes to comic book reviews. You'll have a fun time watching his videos, believe me ;)
So identity crisis, you chose as one of the worst because of all the horrible copy cats that came after due to the sensitive nature of what it tackled? that makes no sense at all. It is a great story involving a horrible incident that was very well written, i have to respectfully disagree on it being on this list lol
That is no problem at all my friend! I know that there are many people out there that enjoyed identity crisis and some of the other books on this list. I’m definitely not one of those people That expects everybody to agree with him LOL I definitely have to give you props also for how you disagreed with me. You were very respectful and mature about it. Most other people who disagree with me on the list simply just called me a bitch 😂
I agree with you for "Holy terror" who's a complete facist and racist sh*** and "Youngblood" who was really really bad and full of super-hero "cliché" but I enyojed "Nemesis" and "All Star Batman"
I heard about All star Batman, and when I saw how Batman is in that comic, I reacted the same way Angry Joe reacted to Superman being evil in Injustice
I heard there was an issue of Marvel Swimsuit Special with a fake ad featuring a grotesquely muscular figure with the tagline “Zip your zipper!” This was a dig at Rob Liefeld, who had been in a jeans commercial with the tagline “Button your fly.” Get the feeling Marvel was a little salty about their guy leaving them for Image?
I fully agree ion rape in mainstream comics. I mean in a line like Vertigo and Max which are/were adult oriented I can sort of see it(but still don't like it) but with mainstream characters its just tasteless. I read Harley Quinn was raped in 52 vol 2 and DC has also made Starfire a Nympho and in the Titans show a hooker. Now before anyone reads this and says I'm some type of prude Look up my name on amazon. I write erotic horror and also flat out smut. There is not a vanilla bone in my body but....superheroes, believe it or not, are still read and followed by kids and do we need that BS? And regardless of the writers intention when rape is portrayed in a medium like comics I feel its not condemned, but in a sick way glorified.
I couldn’t agree more! I really appreciated your comment and am glad that you can see what I was getting at.. it’s really sad that people just dismiss my argument as SJW rhetoric. Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment my friend!
Last week I read Daredevil's Fall From Grace. I'd add that to the list, an utter mess of convoluted story, incomprehensible art, random meaningless cameos, and a boatload of 90s nonsense tropes. Also might add Civil War II. Shameless meandering cash grab which kills off and cripples a bunch of big-name characters as an afterthought (and expects us to actually believe any of that is permanent). Other than that, you caught all my immediate thoughts. One More Day and Avengers 200 are the worst of the bunch. (I never read Ultimatum since I couldn't stomach Ultimates 3.)
Hi there! Yes I have heard really bad things about civil war 2, I have not read it myself, but I might avoid it.. I didn’t know about fall from grace.. thanks for the warning, I will keep in mind how bad it is lol glad you enjoyed this video... I agree about avengers 200 especially... such a weird story lol thanks for watching and commenting!
I have the swimsuit issues. First couple were gifted, I finished the run for completion. Let's face it, comic fans enjoy their animated skin. Nothing wrong with it...as long as it's kept in it's place. The art of most of the pieces are spectacular. Worth it as an art book alone.
I totally agree, the art is fantastic and I wish they continued doing it yearly or something. I like comics for escapism, as a result I’m not interested in what marvel has been doing as of late.
I like 80% of these. I don't get upset when people drastically change characters. Sins Past and Brand New Day were great... these are fictional characters and I love the way new writers just flow. How else are these stories going to go on forever if writers don't do crazy shit?
But here's the thing though. Those two stories betray the characters and stifled the development of them. In Brand New Day, Marvel was afraid of Peter Parker getting old. So they made this story as like a soft reboot of Spider-Man. Peter literally sold his marriage to the devil just to save Aunt May. And I understand that that's his mother figure HOWEVER she was an old woman at this point. She lived her live and would've wanted Peter to do the same. Literally years of stories were gone because of it. You don't have to betray what the characters are just so the status quo could be changed and make the story more interesting. There are better ways to just go about it.
@@studiofirefly1 how were years of stories "gone"? Plus they found each other again anyway. Also one's love and one's a life. I'd prob do the same thing, no matter how old my mother or mother-figure was. Also she is his mom! (LOL @ trouble by millar)
A note about the "Fixer" comic by Frank Miller. That story isn't racist, because being Muslim isn't a racist. However yes its very prejudiced against Islamic worshipers.
Agreed! I didn’t totally despise Holy Terror, I was just disappointed. I thought it could have been much better. Thanks as always for watching and commenting my friend!
I really learned about a lot issues I never knew existed. I always enjoy your content and the work you put into making these greatly produced episodes.
Thanks so much! I really appreciate it and I’m happy to hear that you enjoy the videos so much. I love hearing from people like you who really like these videos. Thanks for watching and commenting and I hope to hear from you again soon!
I really want to read some of these now. Nemesis. Intrigued. Superman and Big Barda? Hell, yeah. I already love The Ultimates. Read enough of this adult fare and you'll start to miss the innocence but that's still out there too. There's room for both. I find classic Comics Code Authority approved type stuff fun but I can appreciate a little shock and awe too.
After the Sam Raimi "Spider-Man" movie came out, I began to start reading comicbooks again (especially since I bought a "The First 40 Years of Amazing Spider-Man CD). Not too long after I began reading the new comicbooks, along came "One More Day" and everybody began screaming about it. Joe Quesada ended up saying "If you don't like it, then stop reading it!" And I did. And, so, I stopped reading comicbooks again.
Cuckold Mr. Miracle is my all-time favorite worst! LoL 🤣 However about the ultimate Wanda and Quicksilver! The obsession Quicksilver has with his sister was always a bit Sus and creepy!
When I was a little kid I begged for comic books with spider man and since it was free I got probably the most aweful comics I ever saw . It was every badly written spider man story with some team called the power pack or something a bunch of kids riding on a rainbow. I got some star trek comics only three I ended up reading about captain sulu because I guess he wasn't a popular comic too.
Boy Mark Millar has a lot to answer for and Sins Past is an abomination. One More Day should have been first on that list. I think you may have overlooked some modern runs that have been out in the last two years from Marvel that have been unreadable. Great upload Dante.
Thanks Lou! Glad you liked the video... yes admittedly I’m a little ignorant on some of the newer crappy comics that have been released in the past few years. I stopped buying new comics about 2 yrs ago now. I’ll likely make another of these at some point and add new books lol Thanks as always for watching and commenting! Love chatting!
The marvel swimsuit specials are amazing. These are fictional characters. Nobody is destroying their self-esteem by objectifying them. They are the equivalent of fanfiction for those who draw. Please let’s get some perspective. offensive is the amount of money that influencers make. That’s offensive.
"Some" people like Identity Crisis? It's one of the most overwhelmingly revered stories of the modern age... I've rarely heard anyone say anything bad about it, and when they do it's because they just didn't like the overall tone. But yeah, Identity Crisis is up there with the all time greats as far as public opinion goes. Maybe you got it mixed up with Final Crisis or something, which was devisive.
Swim suit issues of Avenger female members with real models that look similar to drawing might be successful, same with female Legion of Super heroes, and so on. Overall swimsuit issues of popular female characters from each company could possibly have it at comic cons in each state to get more people interested in going, with over all winners determined at San Diego Comic con.
I totally agreed with you...Porn have been a big gamecard with any kind of superhero comics even more the last years it is so obvious that it is ridiculous. Why don't they just make strict porn comics books if they want to sell so bad? People will buy it I'm sure of it...
I agree my friend..it’s funny because people call me an SJW for commenting on needless sexualization of comics. I don’t think that makes me an SJW but someone who cares more about tasteful stories and art. I think blatant sexualization really cheapens particular comics. Thanks for watching and commenting!
i have that NFL superpro, and i do have to say i am a big football fan (not someone who listens to talk radio or watches sportscenter constantly, but a fan nonetheless) and im also a comic book collector. football is very cool from a strategic perspective.
MARVILLE was one of my first comics to read in english, we don't get many comics here so I downloaded few comics from old website it was 2007-2008 I think the covers was sexy :) but even that I know it not good, I still love it, I had so many memories of this book, it hard for me to hate it when it mean a lot to me but I understand the hate.
I know it is two years late to say this but I'm surprised Boardsword's Tarot witch comic was not on this list because alot of people consider it to be one of the worst comics of all time it was on alot of worst comics list online
Umm I will warn you alot of people say that Witch is very sexist and you will see why. Also I would like to see your opinion on Byran Lee O Malley art and work please and thank you
Not all comic collectors are nerds, i played football from pee wee through high school and still love football, nothing wrong with the swimsuit comics.
#6 - I saw this vid in my feed and stopped by. When I saw it was 25 min, I said, "Never mind," but you hooked me! Nicely done! Thanks for including Deathmate. I absolutely love crossovers and, in general, have always loved Image's art (don't hate). When I saw Deathmate and the variant metallic covers, I had to have them. Well, I finally got them all and, sadly, I have to agree with you. I tried to read the first two (it was a chore even finding the reading order) and, even after reading a synopsis, was like . . . WTF is going on here?? I had to stop and now they're just pretty covers in my collection. I had such high hopes...oh well. Thanks again! Oh, and Jemagu is right. US 1 is based on a toy.
Thanks for stopping by! Glad I got you to enjoy the video. I’m so with you! On Deathmate! Nothing but pretty covers now lol hope to hear from you again in another video! Cheers!
Personally, I thought The Unfunnies was FAR worse than Nemesis and Wanted COMBINED! Nemesis has a few moments that are horribly tasteless and over the line, but the Unfunnies kicks off unpleasant from *PAGE 2* and goes downhill from there at top speed.
You could do a whole video on The Dark Knight Strikes Again....wow! Dark Knight III was incredible though! I may be alone in this but I would go so far as to say it exceeded The Dark Knight Returns.
I agree... I may have to do a video on dark knight strikes again and why it was so bad lol I actually have the whole DKIII set and have not read it yet. You have just made me look forward to reading it more now!
@@Dante19883 I hope you do cause it'd be a great video...and super easy so it'd be great for a week if you're just trying to make a deadline or something haha. No joke I seriously hope they adapt some parts of DKIII into the films. They're that good!
11:35: "I'm definitely not a fan of rape in comics." So... outside of comics, you dig it? :D I had a comics shop during a period when most of these books were published, and I have almost no recollection of the contents you're describing in many of them. "Swimsuit" issues: I actually quite enjoyed some of the art in them. During the 90's, several publishers produced them.
They had Clark play Football on Smallville of course I thought it was bad idea and he ended up seriously hurting someone. The first Spider-Man story he was a wrestler again a bad idea why show off how powerful you are and blow you identity in the first story. Would have been just as good of story without the over the top wrestling in it. Superman movie had Clark running beside a high speed train so how can they not know Clark is Superman?
Marville?! That is seriously one of the worst homages I have ever seen to that iconic shot in Smallville with Clark in the corn field and a red S on his chest xD Hilariously bad.
See this is why I love manga. I love comics too, but manga doesn't have this idea that you shouldn't make a story about such and such. Sports, romance, crime, super powers, politics, educational, anything can work.
Number 7.At first, this storyline was a BIG hit,and what tanked it was trying to make the spidy of the past 20 years the clone, and the clone, the real Peter Parker The fans got so pissed, that not only the spidy book was tanking, but marvel itself was tanking, and on the last day of 1996, declared bankruptcy. I still find it rather confusing, as to how the clone who was killed at the end of 149, who then was dumped into an incinerator, could have returned.
After 25+ years of buying Captain America, the "Hail Hydra" issue was the end for me. To this day, after several different writers, new issues of Captain America are still garbage.
Agreed about current cap stories. I haven’t read the hail hydra but I will have to check it out and see how bad it is. I think my favourite time for Captain America is the period of time when he was Nomad. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Yeah, Hail Hydra was a nasty hatchet-job, but in general one could say that Marvel is finished and, should DC decide on a similar "course", that they will follow in step. 90% loss in the last year speaks a distinct language and who could blame the long-term fan to jump the sinking ship? And what would you expect when your staff spends most of their time on Twitter, bitching about the president, alienating the fans by literally calling each-and-everyone a "nazi", poisoning the wells and openly admitting that their interest in comics is minimal at best? But it's the best example for the results you get, when you allow SJWs into your company... it's like farmers hiring workers, paying them good money to salt the fields and soil.
Why weren’t the Heroes Reborn series, Brute Force, Spider-Man: The Other, any of Chuck Austin’s work on this list? Civil War II is much worse than Identity Crisis, imo.
Dude, the Captain Marvel series that was in the you decide promotion was actually an incredible book. To say it was only slightly better than the craptacular Marville is insulting. Captain Marvel is a series I HIGHLY recommend.
Here are my disagreetiations (c)! - Superpro: Meaningless but fun. - Avengers 200: Agree with you partly. This issue was about preserving an innocent life. The payback for the use without consent of Carols body was dealt with in Avengers A 10. - Clone-Saga: I am officially the only person on this planet who loved this saga from the beginning to the end. PERIOD! One of the best runs on Spider-Man. - Gwen Stacey / Norman Osborn liaison: Very good story if you ignore the actual history and characters. Take it as a yarn from another universe practically a "What if...?" and it's a very good read. - "One More Day": Same as above IMO. Very good story per se. But they should have used it to show how much Peter and Mary-Jane belong together. Not even the devil could separate them. But after this story I read on for another year and finally gave up on Spider-man (perhaps) forever.
Everyone that reads comics are not nerds who have never played or love sports? The comic book and character was trash, but a lot of folks like me love both sports and so called geek culture. I do enjoy your channel!!
For what it's worth, Avengers 200 definitely pissed people off right away. A notable example of the reaction was Carol Strickland's article The Rape Of Ms. Marvel (www.carolastrickland.com/comics/msmarvel/index.html). Another notable pissed off person was Chris Claremont, who had written much of the original Ms. Marvel comic. So, in writing Avengers Annual 10, he brought Carol Danvers back (this is, in fact, the comic that introduced Rogue, having her absorb Carol's powers and personality), and had her give the Avengers a good talking to. If memory serves, none of them seemed to learn anything from that experience, but at least Carol (and, by extension, Claremont) got her say on the matter while *not* being mind-controlled.
I’m so gonna check out that article! Thanks for recommending it. Thanks for watching and commenting. Great to hear from you again! Hope to hear from you again in an upcoming video!
Came here for Youngblood. Was not disappointed. Honestly, there is so much Rob Liefeld material that could populate this kind of list. Though, some of Todd McFarlane's early writing attempts were pretty suck-tackular, too (the art is definitely better, though). The Frank Miller stuff: DK2 was horrible. I have not read Holy Terror and do not intend to. ASB&R was... silly but not all that bad? The characterization was pretty whack-a-doodle in spots, but it had a mostly coherent story and of course it had very nice art by Jim Lee. Image United probably deserves a mention.
Ah yes image United! Great suggestion! I totally agree about McFarlane’s early writing attempts, but he did get better. I love Spawn lol also I agree, the art in All Star was great! Oh boy I think I missed it... I mentioned the ultimates but not ultimatum.. I’ll have I check it out and see how bad it is lol thanks for the suggestion
Yes,Ultimatum, very bad
Definitely went straight to ebay as soon as he mentioned the swimsuit specials
Lol ha ha that is epic!
@@Dante19883 Youngblood is awesome. X men sucks
This is the first time I have seen someone really not like the swimsuit issues they are just fun pin-ups of characters, some of which were quite funny to like the ghost rider one.
Oh yeah, I agree, they are hilarious. No disrespect to anyone who likes them, they are just not my cup of tea. Thanks for watching and commenting!
I found issue #3 way too unoriginal, and closer to being simply pornographic.
Irrius . It may be in fun, but it seems like it was designed to sell to the stereotypical basement dwellers.
Frank Miller in his prime was absolutely revolutionary. Untouchable. The dark knight strikes again is hot garbage! 🤣
The Dark Knight strikes again is MCU cringe
And holy terror
I (mostly) agree with your list, with the exception of #19. US:1 was meant to be a stand-alone 12 issue series.
The art is decent. The characters are kind of fun. The story is predictable, but there is an end to it. And the characters introduced in this series have gone on to do other things in the Marvel universe.
It's not a bad read, actually.
No not bad at all... just isn’t my cup of tea, that’s all. Thanks for watching and commenting!
One More Day and just about everything that came after that ruined Peter Parker / Spider-Man for me. Stories like that really made it seem like writers weren’t willing to allow him to grow up and evolve, like, he was actively choosing to be less than he could and that deeply frustrated me.
Straczynski was so mortified by Quesada's dumbass idea that he requested to not have his name attached to that putrid arc
The Spider-Man book where the bad guy ATE Peter Parker's eye and he cocooned himself in a hospital bed and regrew his eye broke me! I gave up Spider-Man after that!
Hahaha 🙈 I had a couple swimsuit issues. Hey as a teen in rural Alabama seeing wolverine in a speedo was the best I could do 😂
One you may have forgotten was Identity Disk a mini series Marvel did to compete with Identity Crisis.
You're wrong. I love football and comics.
Yes, I may have over generalized. I know there are many who like both. Thanks for watching and commenting!
(not counting Richie Rich and Casper comics I read as a kid)
Hey how about a video like "Top ten comics based on toys"?
Wasn't DC comics cyborg a football player? I love football and comic books.
JL Cry for Justice is one of the worst IMO
Oooo I’ll have to check that out. I’ve never read it. I like seeing just how bad certain books are lol
I know right!? Lol
Mocking"Ask-me-about-my-feminist-agenda"bird says Hello
Your Conroy Batman impression is on point! Just discovered your channel, I love it already.
Thanks! Glad you liked my impression ha ha ha! Welcome to the channel and I hope to hear from you again!

Should have explained that Superman & Big Barda were under mind controlled whne that happened... nit that they did that willingly
You could easily find 20 worst comics by going through Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen and the Legion of Superdogs comics.
Yeah I agree! Some of those were rough lol
I love how a comic involving rape features a Toys R Us promo on the cover
Lol I know right!?
I find nyself having such a hard time reading frank miller batman comics because it hurts my eyes so much
Yeah, sometimes his art can be a bit busy, especially in recent years.
I do agree with some of your choices, but know a SJW when I see him. AND THERE NOTHING WRONG WITH SEXY HEROES.
I have nothing against sexy heroes, I just think it’s kind of superficial. But that’s just my opinion. We don’t have to like the same things in our comic reading. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@Dante19883 I'm afraid it's true that a SJW can be detected on pure sight. In a few years time - when this farce is over and those losers are back at their parents place, blissfully playing video games and enjoying unemployment - the term "SJW" will probably be the new term for "ignorant asshole". Although I like the word NPC better - look no further than the hissing SJW commenting below you for the standard definition, making bee-like sounds on the mention of three letters. No wonder they lost the election... :-)

Cheers!
DC has Crisis', Marvel has Wars.
Ah Countdown to Infinite Crisis. Where Jimmy got uncontrollably dangerous powers, got a bug lady to crush on him then had the bug lady dump him after losing the powers. And that's just part of the mess of this
When I was in fifth grade the swimsuit special was the closest I came to having a playboy.
Yes a few viewers mentioned as much as well lol
Well at least Aunt May wasn't in the swimsuit books. Honestly I couldn't care about the swimsuit books at all, they aren't marketed towards me. I think it was a whole trend at the time.
For sure! And for sure, that is one bonus.. now aunt May in swimsuit editions.. lol
Why not? Lol I just find it funny that they have used “crisis” all these years, that’s all. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Also: roughly how many times was Gwen Stacy killed and then brought back to life/discovered alive, etc. I remember when she died the first time but that was back in '71; no way Marvel would let her rest in peace for 48 years if there was a buck to be squeezed out of her that they'd overlooked
Most of this lista has nothing to do with quality, is just "I don't like the idea of this cómic", how the cómic actually is doesn't matter.
You forgot my Adolescent Radioactive Black Belt Hamsters! 🐹 😂
Sally Field played Aunt May, when she played Gidget she was kind of hot, was even married to Burt Reynold after that I think.
I don't think they married. Just dated for a while.
Sigh.
Yup! I think many people followed you with cancelling their subscriptions lol
I will definitely have to look into that and see what I can come up with! Also I didn’t know about Linkara. I will have to check out some of their episodes.
Yup, I can totally see the appeal of nemesis and all star. I don’t hate them by any means. Just not my favs lol thanks for watching and commenting!
They said in a different story Gwen Stacy had a clone so basically a twin sister so could have confused the two.
Eh Alan Moore really kicked off rape for edginess imo
For sure!
I have the swimsuit issues. First couple were gifted, I finished the run for completion. Let's face it, comic fans enjoy their animated skin. Nothing wrong with it...as long as it's kept in it's place. The art of most of the pieces are spectacular. Worth it as an art book alone.
Awesome! Glad you like them! I agree, definitely some great art there.
I totally agree, the art is fantastic and I wish they continued doing it yearly or something. I like comics for escapism, as a result I’m not interested in what marvel has been doing as of late.
Luckily, Trouble isn't canon in the mainstream Marvel Universe; too bad the same can't be said for One More Day. It was horrible.
I know right!? I thought trouble was a really dumb comic... And yes... too bad one more day is canon! Thanks for watching and commenting!
No.20: I didn't know Billy Ray Cyrus has been in a Marvel Comic.
I know right!? What were they thinking? Lol
I TOTALLY CALLED MARVILLE!!!
Lol yup! Really bad book ha ha
Oh yeah for sure! I can totally identify with that!
The first Marville cover makes me think this story is a rip off Smallville
Yes it is totally a rip off from Smallville. You are right about that!
Joe Quesada ended up saying "If you don't like it, then stop reading it!"
And I did. And, so, I stopped reading comicbooks again.
Lol right on.. yeah... quesadilla was kinda being a jerk about it.. to this day I don’t think people have forgiven him lol
Lol ha ha I know exactly which ones you are talking about. Totally right ha ha
honestly, if superman was about to kill someone he would 100% say "ill kill you to death" and end up looking like a total dork
3:11 Eye shied 21 , one of the best manga of all time is about football , great art and story
the artiest working on One Punch man
This. The manga is so good it's an excellent read even if you don't like or know anything about American Football. The art is spectacular as well.
That character kissing Superman on cover is called Big Barta.
I wasn’t familiar with that one. I’ll take a look at it. Thanks for the suggestion!
Umm I will warn you alot of people say that Witch is very sexist and you will see why. Also I would like to see your opinion on Byran Lee O Malley art and work please and thank you
Marville had 2 cool foil variants for #1 , and I'm a proud owner of a complete NFL Superpro #1-12 and the Superbowl Special Edtion.😎
Nice job with the nfl books.
I meant to say they both ate dead by Anazing 122, the Goblin dies in 122, Hwen in 121.
11:10 that is the ultimates 3 not the ultimates other than that Great list
Shows the Brian Hitch cover to Ultimates 8, written by Millar, followed by panel art by Madureira with dialogue by Loeb. Sloppy, sloppy work.
Never read the unfunnies... I’ll have to see how bad it is for myself. Thanks for the suggestion!
Geekery with Dante D. You’re in for a ride.
You know where football and comics mix? Former NFL TE Kellen Winslow no doubt read Trouble and thinks old Aunt May is hot
I had a comics shop during a period when most of these books were published, and I have almost no recollection of the contents you're describing in many of them.
The comic is even worse lol
Lol then now we have marvel making comic book covers of college football teams and I love both buddy don't assume thing's
Yup, my mistake, I over generalized there, apologies.
@@Dante19883 Lol it's fine it was just a coincidence
See this is why I love manga. I love comics too, but manga doesn't have this idea that you shouldn't make a story about such and such. Sports, romance, crime, super powers, politics, educational, anything can work.
The Millar family take big place in this list :(
Look at the size of Millar’s name on Trouble as opposed to the artists name
Number 7.At first, this storyline was a BIG hit,and what tanked it was trying to make the spidy of the past 20 years the clone, and the clone, the real Peter Parker The fans got so pissed, that not only the spidy book was tanking, but marvel itself was tanking, and on the last day of 1996, declared bankruptcy. I still find it rather confusing, as to how the clone who was killed at the end of 149, who then was dumped into an incinerator, could have returned.
Believe it or not I ordered the trades for the Clone Saga. I heard it’s better in TPB format. We’ll see lol
I dont have the Marvel swim suit issues, but I do have a collection of Rule 34, does that count?
Lol I’m actually not familiar with it. I’ll have to check it out! Thanks!
Yup you are right... and chuck Austin’s work... I totally agree... I may have to make another of these... thanks for the suggestions!
😀
Everyone that reads comics are not nerds who have never played or love sports? The comic book and character was trash, but a lot of folks like me love both sports and so called geek culture. I do enjoy your channel!!
Love it. But those swimsuit comics were classics. They were my summer girlfriend.
The only reason I included it is because of Batman’s whacky characterization. Thanks for watching and commenting! Always a pleasure to chat!
Comic fan and football fan and had the first four issues of Super Pro. Also had the first swim suit comic.
Nice! I hope you like them!
