I agree. The best looking WRC car of all time. The best looking Scooby of all time. It’s a shame it didn’t get a full season. I was spectating on the corner at 10:07. Awesome times.
Edit: Burns in 2000 and McRae in 98. Both would have won the titles of the Subaru was more reliable.

Excellent video. You picked up on the same feelings as myself when comparing the P2000 to any other Impreza WRC. A touch more reliability with the car would have seen him a champion for sure. It was a shame the P2000's works life was cut too short.

Yes for sure that car should have been used for the 2001 season. It was just cut way short and we never got to see it on the snow for example. Burns didn't like the 2001 car either. And it didn't perform as well either it seems. I remember missing this car for the following years a lot

@@daveruda it's a shame that when it came here to Ireland, it was relegated to being like a WRC 99'. No paddle shift etc. The P2000 was really a masterpiece. Well done on the video.

@@johnjames01 thank you! That gearbox was probably too advanced for the private drivers to deal with!? But yeah without it something vital is missing

@@daveruda Yeah I think Prodrive brought back the sequential stick shift and removed the paddle shift to make the car less complicated for privateers.

@@daveruda If I'm correct the 2001 car was a carry-over of the P2000. Or, said otherwise, the P2000 was a totally new car and was already the 2001 one, but with the older bodywork.

Despite the trashmaker from Scotland lovers would say, he was indeed more agressive than Colin, Colin was prone to lauch the car to the corners, while Burns rounded them and was way more happy with the accelerator, often overreving the engine, such a joy to watch him driving

Great video. Both Richard and the P2000 were my favorite combo. I'm surprised you didn't include catalunya

Yes I should have. 2nd place on Pirellis...imagine the speed on tarmac with Michelins!

Hey man, great vid! The P2000 is my all time favourite, had Subaru worked out the reliability issues earlier and Burns had driven with more maturity in a couple of rallies (knew when to settle for position) he would have doninated in 2000. Surely that was a car that could win rallies till the mid 2000s with the right driver.
Btw, what soundtrack are you using for the first part of the vid? Thanks!

Thanks! Its almost a crime they retired this car so fast. Did the S7 blow anyone away? I mean Burns left bc he realized this wont cut it anymore. It was such a dissapointment coming after the P2000. Not just in performance but the overall presentation.
I used Moody breeze by Martin Iverson and Dune 2000 - Rise of Harkonnen for this one.
