In concert they were a hoot. Try "I got stoned and I Missed it", " Freaking at the Freakers Ball" , "Queen of the Silver Dollar" They were Always higher than a kite while in concert..and Fun to be with......
Sylvia's Mother will tear at your heartstrings. Beautifully written and sung.
Love Dr Hook. They did eventually get their Picture on the cover!
👉 Rolling Stone Magazine 👈
You really need to listen to Sylvia's Mother! Beautiful song!!
Listen to Sylvias mother from the same group and you will be really surprised !
Dr. Hook had a very loyal fan base. Many songs such as "Sylvias Mother", "When You're in Love With a Beautiful Woman, to name 2 of my favorites.
Suggestion next reaction video. Dr Hook - When You´re in Love with a Beautiful Woman.
No.1 UK singles chart 1979. Thanks for a great song by Dr Hook and the Medicine Show. 👍
It WAS their first song.
The Rolling Stone is a famous American magazine.
Interesting song! Don't think I have heard it since it was released in 1972. It is still an honor to get on the cover of Rolling Stone!! 💯 Nice one Teresa!!
Thanks for listening
@@HAP3SPEAKZ The Rolling Stone is a magazine that over the music scene for years doing interviews of bands at various stages in their careers. Has nothing to do with the band per se'. Being on the cover though carried a certain gravitas of being a band of consequence. The magazine got more and more political and wanted to be seen as the tip of the social justice movement. I'm not sure if it still is in publication as I stopped caring about it the more it went down that political road.
These guys were characters
Yes they did.
They did make the cover? Thank you for clarifying ❤
Fun! Always brings a smile to my face! It's the way of the 70's. Perfect summation of musicians back in the day. Outstanding reaction. 🔥🥰
That silly but true little song, did get them on the cover of ROLLING STONE March 29th 1973.. your reaction was exactly on point, the band had all the so called ingredients for fame but being on the cover would seal the deal!! Again great reaction, Hap! 💜🎵 good choice, Teresa!
Cool!
I thought this would be fun. Gets me laughing every time. They do have a few hits & they did get on the cover. Back in the day all the bands wanted on the cover of Rolling Stone. 🔥💯
Thanks Haps
Long time ago I heard Dr Hook. My mom was a big fan of him. She past away at the age of 90, three years ago! How time go fast.
Rolling Stone is the USA equivalent to the UK's Mojo magazine.
I know this song but I have never heard of this group nor seen this video. Funny performance and I guess you shouldn't take it too seriously when they sing: "Hey, we've done all this but we're still not getting there😅." Some have it, some don't and you with this channel got it, HAP but won't get on the cover either😅🥰🙋🏻♀️. Nice reaction and Teresa👍
Another new one 😊 This channel is really opening my eyes and ears. It looked like they were having a really good time together and wanted to make it known, " We want our picture on the cover of the Rolling Stones!" I could Google, but I'm sure I can read the comments to see if they made it. I hope so! Fun song choice, Teresa 👍and, as always, an awesome reaction Hap ✌️ ☮️ 🎶 🎵
Wonderful!
My favorite band of all time, and that’s a long time. I’ll be 80 next month. Perhaps the most irreverent band on the planet. Next try “When you’re in love with a beautiful woman” or “Carry Me Carrie”, and “Only Sixteen”. Those are a few of their greatest hits, but to really appreciate the band, their first two albums are highly suggestive, written by Shel Silverstein. For example, “Sloppy Seconds” and “Freakin’ At the Freakers Ball”. Don’t forget, “I Got Stoned and I Missed It”.
Love Dr Hook, my dad was a fan. Probably their biggest hit was “when your in love with a beautiful woman” but they had a lot of other great songs too & some funny stuff too like this one
I need to look into their catalog 😊
@@amydavies2529 “completely hooked, the best of Dr Hook” is a pretty good place to start
Dr Hook never fails. try Sylvia's Mother. that is an epic song as well.
Ohhh good song!
I really like that song to.
😂😂😂 They did make it on the cover of Rolling Stones😂😂😂😂 great reaction. ❤this song. Thanks😂
Glad you enjoyed it
Awesome man 😂 gotta do Dr Hook - Millionaire, everybody making it big but me , you make my pants wanna get up and dance & I got stoned and I missed it.. live they where the definition of entertainers/ just go with the flo type shows 😂
You should give a listen to Dr Hook and the medicine show preform "The Queen of the Silver Dollar" and "Sliva's Mother
Teresa you brought me a blast from the past!
A zillion years ago in high school a friend and I would call up radio stations and request this song. (Why this song? I have no clue! Wasn't a favorite) We'd do it until they started to hang up on us for so many request. Hey, we thought it was funny. There may have been some wine or something involved in thinking it was funny. Back in the day kids! When you had to dial a phone each time. No buttons. Sticking your fingers in the number holes and turning them until you hit the metal thingy. No redial button. Phone hanging on the wall with a long curly cord hanging from it. (Now get off my lawn! 👵 )
Anyway I have not heard this song in.....I can't even guess how long. I believe I'm going to listen again. Nostalgia.
(It's Rolling Stone magazine. Without the S.....is that still a thing?)
@nanner3200, thanks for sharing this funny story😅. Yes, phones with a rotary dial hung on the wall or were stationary on a phone table😂.
@HAP3SPEAKZ thumbnail Stones without s, just Rolling Stone 😊
It's a mockery of the Rock n Roll lifestyle. Pretty funny stuff. But, they did get their picture on the cover or the Rolling Stone. It's in the video here: ruclips.net/video/-Ux3-a9RE1Q/видео.html although, it's a caricature. It was later in maybe 2023 they actually got a picture on it.
Thank you! Glad to see they made it!
Remember this growing up 🤗🎶🎶
Please queen reaaction
They oversang the line "I got a freaky old lady named Cocaine Katie."
Yes some of the song is about getting high. Rolling Stone is a music Magazine. It's more in the early to middle part of their career, their drug days before they cleaned up. Yes they made the cover.
🌸 best marketing tactic ever!!!
Glad you think so!
@@HAP3SPEAKZ LOL.... will after this song came out they actually did get on the cover of the rolling Stone... so 😁
This song is a hoot! So funny! But, they have a serious side too. A sad, but lovely little song of their's, "Sylvia's Mother" comes to mind.
Carry me Cary is my favorite
"Alludes to drugs"? He sings "We take all kinds of pills that give all kinds of thrills". His ole lady's name is cocaine Katy. I wouldn't say they are 'alluding' to drugs.
LOL I was going to say the same thing but scrolled down first. You beat me to it 😆
Please react to more of their stuff... "when Your In Love With A Beautiful Woman"..."Sharing The Night Together"..."Sexy Eyes"..."Walk Right In"....Only 16".... "A Little Bit More"...
Please do "Sylvia is Mother," and "Millionaire." Dr Hook is brilliant! And very funny.
Yes, they where featured on the cover of The Rolling Stone "....
When you're in love with a beautiful woman is fantastic!
Sharing The Night Together.
When You're In Love With A Beautiful Woman.
Sylvia's Mother.
I Got Stoned And I Missed It.
These guys are so much fun. They didn't have a bad song.
React to Three Dog Night, Old Fashioned Love Song.
Black And White.
Joy To The World.
Mama Told Me Not To Come.
The Rolling Stones is a rock Band. Like a Rolling Stone is the #1 rock song of all time, by Bob Dylan. Rolling Stone magazine was the foremost & iconic rock music magazine, that Cameron Crowe famoulsy wrote for when he was just a kid, and is the basis for his film Almost Famous.
Dr. Hook was named after Captain Hook, because of Ray Sawyer's eye patch.
And here we are dipping into some hardcore real stoner non-pc music LOL. I love this group, but limited. Some of my favorite songs of there's our... Carry Me Carrie, can't touch the sun, Queen of the silver dollar, Sylvia's Mother, and Freaker's Ball - which you will never get away with putting up on RUclips these days LOL.
This is a spoof. It is meant to be sarcastic. Everything is tongue in cheek. They are a renegade band. This is an American band poking fun at the music scene. Don't you have music acts that will poke fun at different musical genres in England? That's is their hook as it were. They don't take themselves too seriously, they're just having fun.
This is the early part of their career, when they were doing Shel Silverstein songs.
I just got done watching Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jeff Healey doing Little Sister. If you haven't done it would mind giving it a shot
This band was toasted often. A rabbit hole worth going down Penicillin Penny great tune, your “shaggy dog” is lead
Still have the album 😊
The Go=Go's were on the cover of the Rolling Stone.Tony
Rolling Stone used to be a magazine. Now I think it's just a website
Rolling Stones is a band; Rolling Stone is a magazine....lol
Yes it's tongue in cheek...funny.
You nailed it, but that was a hit, everybody liked them.
70s band grew up during that time. So sex drugs and rock and roll era. So 10k a show is huge.
It's fun satire of other rock stars. All the stereotypes of rock'n'roll stars are being made fun of here. Reference is made to the magazine not the group.

Nope, I'm too old
Too old for what? No one's too old for music 😊
@@amydavies2529 He asked something in the beginning. I don't remember what it was. Trying to be funny I said to old. I've been playing and singing for 54 years. 67 now. You're right. Never too old
