In his novel, a High Wind in Jamaica. Which was called Handman's Blood with the following ingredients, 1-3/4 parts gin, white rum, whiskey, brandy, 7-1/2 parts stout and 6 part champagne.
A Black Velvet is Guinness and champagne. I've had it a few times and it is very potent, but holy fuck, if you go putting all those other spirits into it, it would be lethal loopy juice!!!
I could smell that cod fillet from here, and it was damned good. I'm finding these Irish challenges to be by far the fairest. Enough time, extra plates to let things cool down. It's like they want you to win.

I remember working the slime line when we were catching Pcod in The Bering Sea, after about 15 minutes of yanking guts you'd be covered in tapeworms. I've never ever ever in my fishing life seen a Pcod without a big burly wad of tapeworms in it.
