- In this video we'll look at installing ProjectSend in Docker.
ProjectSend is a self-hosted application (you can install it easily on your own VPS or shared web hosting account) that lets you upload files and assign them to specific clients that you create yourself! Secure, private and easy. No more depending on external services or e-mail to send those files!

For the database location in the installation, you'll need to go to the database container and open the console. Then type:
hostname -I
This will give you the IP address to put in place of "localhost".
If you still can't connect, you'll want to restart the containers and try again.

Hello! My name is Ignacio, I'm the author and maintainer of ProjectSend. Thanks a lot for doing this video and covering the project!
I'm working on a new release that should be up very soon, and I'm happy to say that the issues that you had in the video have been already fixed (like the trailing slash problem that prevented you from loading the assets). PS now supports previewing video, audio, image and PDF files among other new features. One very important addition is serving downloads via XSendFile, which requires the module to be available in the webserver, but adds many benefits such as resumable downloads and no limits when getting large files.
Thank you again for the video, it was great to see PS covered like this!
Will there be a included database at some point?
my instance just stopped working suddenly, cant connect to db
Thank you! Still works in 2024. Appreciate your demo and you have a new sub today.
Thanks so much! Your trick with the setup was something that no one was explaining online. Super clutch.
Glad it helped!
👍 Great. Keep up the knowledge flowing. Thanks for the perfect tutorial and your time.
Thanks, will do!
another great tutorial worked like a charm
Great to hear!
@@DBTechYT could you do a tutorial on setting up bit warden with nginx proxy manager
I recently picked up a new desktop computer so I think what I'm going to do is a livestream where I take a computer with nothing on it and setup a full home server with all kinds of different apps on it and make them remotely available with NGINX :)
@@DBTechYT awesome please do and I look forward to watching
Would have been nice to see from the client side too.
Thanks db!
Hi. Nice tutorial ! What I miss is a guide how to change language (installation of translation pack). Have You been successful with that ?
thanks for sharing dbtech
You bet!
Thanks a lot! This was great man!
Glad it helped!
I am trying to find a program like this to connect to a website…way beyond my ability….who could i connect with to assist
My friend it doesn't work.. Cannot establish connection with the data base of Mariadb ... User is denied ..!!! The images are sucks ... better do that manually ..!!
Also the latest portainer do not work in OMV ver 6.0 .! Cannot open images .... serious bug release ...for OMV 6.0 To solve this is to put the business Edition --> portainer/portainer-ee:2.20.1
if it doesn't work, then there's something wrong with your configuration. Go look at their website for any updates or changes that may have happened in the 4 years since I released this video.
Trying to uninstall. I delete the stack and container, but the two dirs projectsend and ProjectSend located in /srv/path/Config cannot be deleted. Permission denied error. I have sudo and adm permissions and still doesn't work.
I would chmod the config directory to 777 and then delete it
Thank you so much again
No worries!
How did you resolve the trailing slash? I cant login to add it to the url.
EDIT:
I ended up just nuking the stack, removing the config files, then reinstalling.
when I click on check, nothing happens and it doesn't go on. Even restarting the containers does not help. The logfile on mariadb say unconnected user, unauthenticated host, but pw and user is correct.
That's weird. what are you putting for the DB location?
Is there any application same like as project send but running with java
Should we need to have port forwarding done for this to be accessible from outside network? Also, since I am a newbie here just wanna ask another thing. Is the dbtechyt.com registered as a domain name from any of the service providers like godaddy? Anyhow, thanks for making such great videos on helping us setting up a home server!
You will need port forwarding setup to access remotely. I purchased the dbtechyt.com from Porkbun. They're awesome!
@@DBTechYT Great. Will try now!
Since setting this up, have you had any crashes of PS? I seem to have no issue setting it up, but afterwards it drops on me.
I ran it for a couple of weeks without issues. Took it down as I wasn't really using it
The mariadb would not install. I have to change the db image to image: yobasystems/alpine-mariadb:latest on a armv7.
This video wasn't directed toward Raspberry Pi installations. But I'm glad you found a solution for the issue you encountered.
It stops working after server restart: SQLSTATE[HY000] [2002] Connection refused
Something about your database connection is wrong
@@DBTechYT I didn't understand what was going on with the connection between the containers after reboot. Problem solved after some work :) : put both containers on my macvlan VLAN10 with static IP, thanx for your video about docker macvlans.
AH00558: httpd: Could not reliably determine the server's fully qualified domain name, using 172.17.0.5. Set the 'ServerName' directive globally to suppress this message
can someone help me with this I know it is not a projectsend fault...but it is a global thing
@@bitruptercloud8393 create a container of the mariadb, using another port like 210:3306 than create the projectsend container, when you configure the db for the projectsend just put the ip:210. Done
Sorry about my english i hope you understand.
Hi,
I want to create a new site using projectsend,
How do I add ads on my site, to be a source of profit for me?
Here's the thing: I could probably dig through the code and figure out a way, but that's the fun part that you should check out for yourself.
good job
Thank you! Cheers!
