The Grave Of Jerry Lee Lewis the Day of his Funeral

- I was fortunate enough to be able to attend the funeral of Jerry Lee Lewis on November 5, 2022 in Ferriday, Louisiana, and then his burial in Clayton, Louisiana, which is approximately a 15 minute drive from Ferriday.
It rained most of the night and into the morning and was around 52 degrees Fahrenheit (11 degrees Celsius) at 9am local time when I arrived at the cemetery. This is footage I took two hours prior to his burial, and then just after he was laid to rest.
His funeral was from 10am-11am and then afterwards was the burial here at this cemetery, then there was a celebration of his life at 1pm back in Ferriday at the Arcade Theater which is just a few blocks from where the funeral took place.
Rest in peace Jerry Lee, we already miss you so much. Your legacy will live on through your amazing catalog of music, decades of memories, and the millions of fans from around the world. We will always love you.

Another Rock and Roll legend passes on! There was only one Jerry Lee - the innovator of Rock and Roll piano playing. He set those keys on fire with his vamping and crazy antics. He didn’t ‘just play the piano’ he OWNED and FELT it ! Having written songs like Great Balls Of Fire and Whole Lot of Shaking Going On , Jerry isn’t just another crazy rock and roller He IS The KILLER! RIP
Jerry Lee Lewis could play the piano like no other. I can’t believe that Mickey Guilly passed away this year as well. Both a great great loss. Jimmy Swaggart is the last of the 3 cousins that were born to play piano and played very well.

What a reunion he is having with loved ones who passed before him. He had a spirit filled mama who prayed for him. He is in heaven, he made right, just like his cousin Mickey did. Wonderful!

@@NewtownVids Jerry Lee Lewis was literally one of the most talented musicians in modern times, and I would argue he was the greatest and best piano player ever, a genius basically in music, and of course a great singer as well. He was a living legend for most of his career. He did a few small acting parts during his career including a Broadway stage type play back in 1972. He was electrifying by nature, a true God given talent. Thank you for asking!

My dad in the 60's..70's. Had the largest nite club in the state of Mississippi during this time...he only booked country artists..ive seen them all..jerry Lee was a friend of both my mom an dad..ive seen him preform there 5 times..my dad wrote music also..
Jerry Lee did a song of my dad's that he wrote called..." i cant have a merry Christmas..mary without you "".. not sure what album it is on but would be easy to find..i have pictures autographed from jerry Lee left to me from my family that has since gone on...all the ole country singers preformed ther...it was called the 45 CLUB...ON HWY 45 NORTH..COLUMBUS MISSISSIPPI...REST IN PEACE JERRY LEE...THE LANCASTER S AN THE 45 CLUB..GONE BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN.....

My parents were from down there. His grandmother taught the grandkids how to play, sing and pray.

First witnessed a replay of his 1957 appearance on Steve Allen playing Great Balls of Fire at my grandparent's house.
I was completely floored by this wild man!
It still baffles me that people know Elvis but not Jerry Lee!

He was also one of the first rockers to use the devil horns 🤘 in concert (probably unknowingly). Better than Gene Simmons' I love you sign. 🤟

I KNEW JERRY LEE . I MET HIM BACK IN1975. HE WAS WILD AND JERRY LEE WAS THE SHOW WHERE EVER HE WENT. HE WAS ABSOLUTELY WILD. HE WAS GOOD HEARTED. I MET HIM THROUGH WAYNE JACKSON OF THE MEMPHIS HORNS. JERRY LEE INVITED WAYNE AND I TO BAD BOBS IN MEMPHIS AND JERRY LEE INTRODUCED ME TO HIS SISTER LINDA GAIL. WE WOULD GO UP TO JERRY LEES OFFICE WHICH WAS OVER BY THE AIRPORT THERE. HE WAS TALKING ABOUT DOING A CHRISTMAS ALBUM THAT YEAR. HE SHOWED ME AROUND HIS OFFICE IT WAS PRETTY INTRIGUING. HE WAS PRETTY INTRIGUING. HE DIFINITELY WAS A OVER FRIENDLY PERSON TOWARDS WHO EVER HE HUNG OUT WITH.. I ALSO MET ONE OF HIS BAND MEMBERS NAME JAKE WHO WAS IN THE BAND AT THE TIME FRAME. THEY ASKED ME TO GO ON TOUR WITH THEM BUT I DIDN'T GO. WE SAW HIM OFF AT THE AIRPORT. NOW THAT I LOOK BACK I WISHED I COULD OF WENT. I ALSO KNOW ALAN RICH CHARLIE RICHS SON. JERRY HAD HIS AIRPLANE AND CHARLIE RICH HAD HIS AIRPLANE AT THE MEMPHIS AIRPORT. I WAS WONDERING WHAT HAPPENED TO JERRY.LEES PLANE.
Great job at showing Lee's final resting place. Good reminder for folks to live each day/night to the fullest.

THE NICEST HEADSTONE I've ever seen was of a young boy seen leaving his wheelchair and reaching up to the sky with a beautiful happy face. How it was made I have no clue, but it was beautiful and up lifting, knowing that child is no longer confined to a wheelchair and at peace.
Well, now hopefully Jerry can be at peace and be reunited with his loved ones once again.
