I have knitted three sweaters with this yarn and absolutely love it. It is now one of my favourite yarns to work with. The fibres do stick together a little if you need to unpick, but it’s not really an issue. It is incredibly warm and soft to wear. I hand wash and dry flat, again no issues. I haven’t had a problem with felting either. I’m surprised it didn’t score a little higher, but love your channel and really appreciate the work you put in to test these yarns. Thank you
@tillypops3997 I agree with you 100%. Since reading this review I have also knitted 3 sweaters in Drops Air and I have more Drops Air on order. I got used to the sticking while knitting and had minimal problems with unpicking. Wet blocking greatly improved the finished result. I've also enjoyed using Drops free patterns to make my sweaters.
@@heatherroach7817 I also always wet block. It makes such a difference. I agree about the free patterns. I’ve now knitted a jumper with Drops Air held together with Drops Kid Silk. I’m delighted with the result. I always check drops patterns and wool before I go anywhere else!
@tillypops3997 I'm fairly new to knitting. I'm just getting into better quality yarns. I have sensitive skin and don't think I could use mohair so have bought some Drops Brushed Alpaca Silk to team with merino fingering in my stash. It will be the first time I've held two yarns together. I'm happy to swatch and find an appropriate pattern.
@@heatherroach7817 I used to knit years ago, but started again recently. Knitting top down was a revelation to me. My first jumper was with Drops Air and a Drops pattern. It was so much easier than the more conventional bottom up knitting and no seams! I have also knitted with the Alpaca Silk. I’ve used a few of Drops yarns now and haven’t been disappointed. Their prices suit all budgets too. I am still learning how to do more intricate patterns in top down projects. If I come across something I’m not sure of I can always find the answer on RUclips. Esenique on RUclips has some lovely patterns, great tutorials and often uses Drops yarns. I’ve just finished her Mellow Mood sweater in Drops Belle. I’m so pleased with it. Happy knitting!
I thought this was fun to watch! I feel like most people LOVE this yarn especially since you can use so big needles on it, but personally, I just hate working with this yarn😅
Thank you so much! We have a couple of sock yarn reviews, what fiber are you looking for? Something more wooly like peruvian highland wool or softer like merino?
I’m s glad you mentioned sensitivity to alpaca because I have been noticing that I cannot wear alpaca near my skin ( hats ) ….and I was confused because I thought alpaca was supposed to be soft .
You are not alone! I was confused at first too! Everyone's skin reacts differently of course, so if you can, I recommend feeling and messing with different fibers in a yarn store, to see how it affects your hands. That should help you get a better gauge on what you're sensitive to!:)
Thanks, I ❤ soft chainette yarns but not the felting. Have you reviewed Universal yarns yet? PS, maybe you can help me find the perfect yarn for a project I’m designing….yarn should be buttery soft, worsted or Aran weight, durable and washable plus be drapey and have a sheen to it. Am I asking the impossible? Thanks ❤
I'm so happy to hear you enjoyed it! I have not reviewed Universal Yarns yet, but I can add that to the list! Depending on what fiber content you're looking for, it sounds like a Super wash Merino might be a good choice!
That is a great question! I would maybe try putting this yarn in the freezer to help the fibers relax before brushing, but I haven't tried it with this yarn!

Binge watching your review videos because they are so helpful!!
I am so happy to hear you are enjoying them! Thank you!!
I am making a scarf with this yarn right now! It is so unbelievably soft.
Ooh how nice! I agree, it feels like a cloud!
Hi dear community! I would be really interested in the long-term durability of the garments from this yarn. Thank you!
Hello! Unfortunately we haven't knit any projects with this yarn, but we have heard that it felts very easily, especially at the underarms.
@@UntwistedThreads Thank you very much for this insight

Totally agree 😁. I hated working with it too!
I agree, it was not my favorite to work with either, so hopefully we can find a comparable yarn in the future that is easier to work with!:)
Do you have one for sock yarn? Love your work

@@UntwistedThreads thank you ❣️ is koigu a merino yarn?
I believe so, yes! The content of the yarn should be listed on the label of the skein.
Suggestions = Knitting for Olive Heavy Merino, Briggs and Little Heritage
Thank you! Heavy Merino is coming soon! :)
No thanks for answering, I’ll check those ones first 😊
Hope that helps!:)
hi! do you think you can brush this yarn out like how mohair brushes and becomes fuzzy?
That is a great question! I would maybe try putting this yarn in the freezer to help the fibers relax before brushing, but I haven't tried it with this yarn!
