ya'll both RIGHT on when they needed to insert Pyotr. Last third of the season was great, had great goaltending, and it was almost a total one to one rotation.
Make Kochetkov the starter. Trade Anderson for anyone. If Necas is traded Canes need to get back premium player.
I think the goalie trade ideas are totally insane. Unless you're getting a truly elite guy, which you're not, it's not the season to go chasing a bad performance by Freddie. One, Freddie played very well (when healthy) last year. Two, PK is the starter next season. Three, it's a turnover season anyway, why chase a goalie this year when the team is going to be totally revamped? Too often we're left chasing the last thing we saw, when in reality the duo we have played really well, and I see no reason to not run back PK and Freddie, with the caveat that we should probably have PK as the 1A going into the playoffs.
Necas must be moved for an upgrade to Necas, and that's the bottom line. Now if they have to trade him for a few elite prospects from one team so they can trade them and some other pieces to a 3rd team for that upgrade, fine. But the end result must be that Necas' top 6 role must be filled by a player who brings more to Carolina than Necas did. Otherwise, just sign Necas and let's go.
Exactly why do we need a goalie and if we are getting a goalie it better be Swayman or Igor. Ullmark is the same as Freddie. It's time for us to figure out if PK can be the number one goalie. Trading Necas for the exact same player but older doesn't' even make sense to me either. Honestly if I were the GM I'd resign Necas and keep him for two more years until he is a UFA. We could win the Cup with him in those two years. I don't want Ullmark, Gibson or Zegras those players are not an upgrade at all.
If they move Necas then maybe Necas for Saros with some picks and prospects.
Seattle has Shane Wright. I would certainly be interested in that.

Put Necas on top line or trade him for Saros and a first or 2nd.
Make PK number one goal keeper
So you got Necas.. wants out.. and you expect the GMs to hand you Necas equivilant or better? Not going to happen..
