- US President Donald Trump has hinted the European Union (EU) could be next to face tariffs, after he applied 25% levies on goods from Mexico and Canada along with an additional 10% tax on imports from China.
Trump told the BBC that tariffs on EU goods imported into the US could happen "pretty soon".
On trade with Britain, he said "The UK is out of line. But I'm sure that one, I think that one, can be worked out."

Business acumen? The guy has been bankrupt 7 times. Stop sucking up to him and start STANDING up to him.
I think he was being politely "sarcastic "
Anyone who can bankrupt casinos has a rather unique set of business skills...
@@darrylwood1220 sorry you are perhaps a little too optimistic. Sycophantic is perhaps a more apt description. Donald Trump simply does not possess business acumen
@@jonholland6067 I concur. I'm sick of people, like the guy in the interview, capitulating and worse still cuddling up with the vile, narcissistic felon. He should be in a cell now, not enjoying all the trappings of the most powerful office in the democratic world.
@@jonholland6067 agreed.
The UK needs to be wary, we here in Canada thought we had a trade agreement with the US, signed by Trump himself. Turns out that doesn't mean anything to him..
you and mexico had an agreement until you became a vassal for china to bypass sanctions lol get a grip - perhaps begin by no longer locking people out of their bank accounts.
And Canada ACTUALLY has good relationship with the US, we sell them grossly discounted raw materials, oil, energy, water. We've been there by there side for every major war or internal struggle. No country as far as I know had ever had a more peaceable and easy going neighbor as Canada is to the US, and Trump is threatening to rape us.
Don't deal with USA then ,see how that goes for you 😂
If he signed an agreement, and then he broke it you are in for a lot of money in your country
@@osmanfadil2451what you on about

Absolutely. It's pathetic how they suck up rather than stand up to the 7 times bankrupt, eternally grifting felon.
he wanted to say ego but, well we all know why
@@TheTruthHzJust exactly how many boxes of tissues have you been through since Jan 20th?
European leaders can avoid American tariffs by flattering Trump on his amazing hair.
Trump will say, "Thank you", now pay your tariffs.
Yes, by repeating ‘business acumen’
Not sure you'll get a balanced view from the BBC as they receive substantial funds from the EU, and have just lost their funding from USAID... why TF was USAID funding the BBC????
Or by his amazing tan (from the sun of course)
@@atTheHopYou still haven't understood who pays tariffs?
Is it just me, or is Trump even more erratic than he was in his first term?
his first term wasn't as bad as people say.
No, not erratic. More focused.
Nope, he now has a pretty sound plan and is wasting no time implementing it.
Dementia is a progressive disease.
Completely erratic, he governs from his gut with no info and with complete disregard to rules, he has been this way for 40 yrs, nothing new.
Never in my life have I ever seen a country work so hard to undermine their own alliances.
US or UK?
The UK is doing a bang-up job of screwing over their own citizens with the legal immigration have fun with all your goat lovers and you're grooming grape gangs

You mean the UK right? Our current dictator hates the native population and it's western allies
@@Sa-v3wyou didn’t have to, everyone with a brain knows
How long until he realizes it hurts US more than Europe
You're kidding, right. He lacks both the intellectual capacity and the desire to accept that.
He knows, he knew it with Canada as well. He’s playing hard ball to impress his followers but like what happened with Canada he’ll chicken out when things get bad.
After all he doesn’t want to be the president who declared war on his allies for no reason causing the collapse of his country

"Trump's business acumen". How to start with loads of money, avoid tax, bankrupt yourself repeatedly, end up with less than what you'd have had if you just invested it with a passive fund, and then get on TV. Amazing.
Sure let's make everything even more expensive. Great idea.
Lol. Just promise him what you're doing right now. You win. Ask Mexico and Canada.
Lol.
Lol.
The world needs to quit playing along with this buffoon - respond with 200% tariffs
Signed, an American
EU need not worry. Within hours of imposing tariffs Trump will hold it for 30 days.
Couple days ago, it’s was us Canadians and Mexico in his sights. China too. Now Gaza to become an inclusive resort. Tariffs on EU now. Tomorrow, India because they don’t buy beef, Iceland because they are too icy, Turkey because they don’t want to be stuffed, Japan eats too much fish, Chile because it’s either too cold or not enough beans. I look forward to the movie once he’s kicked off. It’s called “it’s a mad, mad world” oh they did that already.
Actually, in one of the Mighty Ducks movies, it is revealed Greenland is the land full of ice, and Iceland is the “green” land. I know you meant this to be rhetoric, but you were wrong about Iceland.
Hey Painter I love your sense of humour. Thank you for a much needed laugh
I'm going to look into labels for a week or so while I shop and change my shopping habits in order to remove as much "made in America" as possible 👍

And it's working 100%
@DaveAmade Yeah he seems to like people on they're knees just ask Stormy Daniels ! 👍
@XDY8 100% 👍
Trump's business acumen? Hilarious.
Politicians around the world know how to appeal to the felon to get what they want.
I had enough with this joker Tariff. He talks loudly and will flip at the last minute.
Bring it on Trump - we'll match you dollar for dollar.
Lol appeal to his business acumen... You mean his ego
It is bad advice to trade with an unstable character.
In his first term, he made USMCA trade agreement with Canada & Mexico, calling it "One of the best ever".
Now, when he wanted to launch tarrifs, he said "We had one of the worst trade agreements ever."
Profitable trade needs stability, not lying idiots.
The difference is fentanyl and the Cartels. China ship it Mexico makes it and Canada made it legal.

@@Puggalug why?
Scotland actually voted to stay in the EU. And they want to be independent. We should start working on that. Ireland also wants to be reunited.
Ireland has a greater chance of being reunited than Scotland getting independence.

American here; I really hope there can be some agreements amongst our friends.
Trump talked about America looking weak but he’s decided to attack all of our allies. Unfortunately, this might get much worst for everyone
F off. Everyone hates America now.
Censoring and silencing people with corrupt money .
Canada here…don’t get sucked in!!
I really hope he puts tarrifs on the UK next. I think it's the only thing that could start to wake us Brits up to our decades long vassalisation to the US empire. We haven't had a independent foreign policy since 1956.
0:55 '...so there is no reason that the two of us should get into a tariff war.' 'no reason' to do something is not enough for big D to not do it anyway. we have to face it, the US has lost all credibility of being a reliable partner - in trade, in respecting international agreements and as an ally.
I would not rely on any agreement with Trump. Why do people give him the power to decide? It will always end up being for his own personal benefit at the end of the day. I am sick of everyone playing his game by waiting for his next move. Healthy nations need to stick together and take the lead to bring back some sort of equilibrium.

@@cory8837 I dunno, USAID had been funding the BBC to the tune of over $3m each year. Why????
It is astonishing how people don’t know how tariffs works.
Tariffs between countries are a result of years of negotiations. The rock bottom of tariffs are WTO* which are high tariffs, the negotiated tariffs are the better and takes years to negotiate.
*even worse that WTO is being out of WTO like North Korea is.
What Trump is doing is throwing away all those years of negotiations. Means all have to go back to worse positions, all have to be re-negotiated which takes years.
Another thing people don’t understand is, just because USA have lower tariff on import say cars doesn’t mean the counterpart have also same lower tariff on cars, there is no economic value on having same tariffs there is no need to negotiate for something to be same -> instead the negotiations is USA have lower tariff on cars and the counterpart have lower tax when importing orange juice produced in USA.
Negotiated tariffs is like (it is an example):
USA places lower tariff importing cars from UK
UK places lower tariffs importing orange juice from USA
You expect those ingrates to understand anything beyond 1+1.
No we don't.
Americans like the high quality of Canadian and EU products or they wouldn’t have been buying them all these decades. Don’t blame us for trying our best 😊.

Lets trade with China then...
Let him do it. Let’s see how we can let him wiggle and scream.
but EU tariffs America so why cant America do it back?
Currently EU tariffs USA and USA tariffs EU, the current tariffs have taken years to negotiate.
Trump wants to increase tariffs to EU throwing away years of negotiations, I say fine, EU should respond in tit-for-tat
If Trump imposes tariffs on any country, a unified Economic Defense Coalition (EDC) should respond with automatic reciprocal tariffs from all members, ensuring no nation is targeted alone. If Trump escalates, the EDC should impose a 25% tariff on all U.S. exports, restrict key American industries, and shift trade alliances away from the U.S. To counter economic coercion, the coalition should gradually reduce U.S. dollar dependence, diversify supply chains, and limit investment into U.S. markets. By coordinating economic retaliation and pressuring U.S. businesses and swing-state industries, the EDC can neutralize Trump’s trade bullying, protect global stability, and build a resilient, independent economic system.
USAID huh?
The US importers are paying these tarifs. Anybody aware of that here???
