- Nixxiom and Crendor return to take on World of Warcraft's hardest challenge yet: The Deeprun Tram Challenge. For years, the deeprun tram has been a thorn in the sides of many-a player, taunting them with the fact that nobody has been able to run the entire length of the Deeprun Tram without giving up and hearthing home. But that stops today. Two heroes return from the Dragon Isles, determined to not only overcome this age-old WoW challenge, but also to talk about Dragonflight, what they enjoy about the expansion so far, what they dislike, and how the community has reacted to the release of this newest addition to World of Warcraft.

Actually I did run through the entire tram tunnel back in vanilla or tbc. I was exploring. The second time was with an entire raid travelling between stormwind and ironforge.

I like the story for DF because it's deceptively simple. Raszageth has a pretty decent motive - proto drakes and dragons descend from the only elementals that didn't get locked away by the Titans when they showed up, it makes sense she aligns with the elements against Titans and views the aspects as traitors to their history, and she wants to free the other dragons that think like she does. It's putting Titans in a much more morally grey position, especially with the little tidbits about titans/keepers mind controlling the Dragons. It's engaging and interesting lore-wise without getting over the top.
Yes it allows the player to fill in the blanks and feel a part of the world and not just some surreal time line where your part of a hero story.
I ran the deeprun tram wayyy back in the day since when i passed through 1 time i saw an ocean. I was like "Whoa! Wait what is that?!" And then on the way back i walked all the way just to see what cool stuff the water section had, and to see if there was hidden stuff on the edges. There wasn't really much going on aside from small inconsequential things as a "well hi there". Otherwise, time well spent as a kid. Weirdly nostalgic

nixxiom npc would for sure say "ishnu alah weary traveler" and it would be a night elf dk in their starter gear
Nixxiom's npc could be a questgiver for a new profession: wood whittling. And the first reward is a handmade woodwind instrument. He has a custom voiceline where he hums a dwarven folk tune voiced by the man himself. He is dressed like a rustic human ranger with pelts and bits of enchanted wood and has a big beard.
It's a shame Nixxiom the night elf death knight didn't appear in an inn somewhere. He could have said "Ishnu ala, weary travelers" before going back to drinking with Moocluck.
Something like that would be sick to see.

I ran through it back in Wrath because I didn't think it would take that long. My whole guild made fun of me.
Your NPC would be a level 58 Death Knight Dwarf and when you click on him he goes "Ohhh my goodness, I'm not even trrryyying!!!!".
i ran throught the entire tram because i was lost exploring (when first started wow) . didnt know you were supposed to wait for the train .

The Tram along with IronForge were my favorite places growing up so seeing it just brings a wave of nostalgia. I think I also did the same "challenge" cuz I was bored and loved watching the marine life do stuffs.
If you ever get an NPC, besides having iconic mannerisms you use for dialogue, I really hope they would just take your Nixxiom character, transmog and all, and put that in.

Got an video idea, you can take a character and run from Booty Bay to Silvermoon without mount and movement speed abilities
And for classic+, I think it would be nice if they took the idea from DF profession and make it like you get some xp from an item you craft for the first time
Feel like some game dev must've been like "I'mma put this lil' trap here and no one will know about it but me... I'll know about it..."
And then sometimes they just visit that area while they're playing and they're like "Heh... I remember putting that there..."

Your npc would be a patroling npc in the city, sometimes he'll go into the inn, the auction house or the park and tell everyone how much better and how much more swag he is, like "I bet you filthy casuals havnt even found all of the treasure on treasure island yet!" or when you intract with him hell be like "OMG I didnt expect to run into Azeroth's biggest ball of gay today, how are you friend??"
48:30 This is how I feel too. One of the things I love about Dragonflight is how spacious and world-like it feels. Much as I've loved various things in various expacs since, the last time I felt that was in Kun Lai in MoP. Everything went really compact and activity-hub heavy for a while after that. Less like a world to be in and more like a lot of activities all cobbled together. Not to be overly harsh about that. As I say there were still cool places and stories. Just... less world feeling, ya know? This delicious spaciousness with the world and wildlife just doing their own thing for miles at a time in the background just feels more like an actual place to be.
That was nice. I don't know if you're still into painting warhammer stuff or not Nixxiom, but it would be pretty rad if you and Cren did a painting stream or something some time. Free video idea right there.

Nixxiom's NPC would go all Beowulf and shit on a random elite Proto-Drake.
Whats good about this expansion is that you don't have to see someones Ashes of Alar, Flight Form (that they grinded Legion for), Invincible or some other limited fancy flight mount that they got from some old raid/event achievement.
yet. Raids arent even out and neither is Mythic +... I love the expac but still think EVERYONE is too early to say that all the negatives or bad rep it had is suddenly gone with dragonriding... Wait until the competition paces up. youll see, nothing changes.
@@notreallybro8508 So how will that negatively effect the positives so far? The base game is great you can get gear already on mythic + level from outdoor content/rares so you dont really need to grind the fuck out of M+ if you want somewhat decent gear. If anything season 1 just adds even more to do and experience. You get rated arenas/pvp, raids, primal invasions like i really dont get that logic of thinking.
Bought the expansion cause of nixxioms two recent videos. It's great so far, feels old school. Love the talent system

Yeah, actually taking time to build a compelling world within which a player can form their own fantasy experience as opposed to starting out with this crazy power fantasy in mind and then creating a world that only seeks to serve that power fantasy is probably a good shift in focus I'd say.

I used to run the tram (the top level) all the time when I was a little kid.. It's just kind of a mindless thing to do for an hour or two

Here is a challenge for you guys: level vulpera hunters (after gnomes it has to be vulpera) but you only can kill furry creatures.

I feel like Warcraft should allow profession gear to be an alternative to questing gear for solo players, or dungeon gear even. Instead of a dungeon crawl, you grind out the mats you need.
Pffff, been there done that. Call me when you go at walk speed from Stormwind to Lakeshire or organize an Elephants on Parade between the SW and Lakeshire with at least 5 people on Elek or Mammoth mounts. (There's always that one guy on a tiger who insists on coming along.) 🤣 Love you guys (nohomo)

What i want from classic plus for them to like do an alternative history shtick, like a what if scenario, for example what if the Defias Brotherhood took over stormwind? what if Dal'rend Blackhand was able to stage an attack on ogrimmar? what if Garrosh didnt go the path that he did as warchief? stuff like that

Definitely, lots of times lol. I remember being 12 and running it multiple times with a few wow buddies “just cuz” and battling down the track. Even ran into a couple other people.
I did but out of missing it n wanting to see how long it would take lol
during mop, 3 horde were ganking low lvl taking the tram and we chased them, on foot, from sw to ironforge then back again XD

well i was noob as fck so i have get in the deepruntram and dosent knowe wath is it, and yes i was walked over it. and loved the under waterr expirience.:)
Also I have run the whole thing back when I first started playing. I missed the train and just chased it, but then when I couldn't catch it I just kept running lol. I was a kid so the fact it was a waste of time never even registered to me at the time, I just liked runnin lol
Also wrt classic+, as someone who loved OSRS, I think WoW is really missing out by not going that route with its own dev team and stuff. Osrs is so insanely successful and wow could easily do the same thing with classic

So I've been watching your videos deciding if I want to try df or just stay away from wow. It sounds like they fixed alot of problems that made me hate the game, but I haven't heard anything about one thing that killed the game for me, the players themselves. Are the players less douchey now? Do you still have to be a min/ maxer to get groups? Are guids relevant again?

As a filthy roleplayer I ran the entire thing back in MoP, looking for possible secret RP spots.

man if they do a classic + i hope they will take stuff that worked there and/or expanded the worldmap (new zones and sub zones) and bring it over to retail as well, if it does not lets say change the cataclysm zone changes to much. no one likes retcons even in zones.
I finished the main quest line for df at lvl69 with like 1/2 left of the lvl to go to reach 70 how on earth did you get lvl 70 with 3/4 of the last zone?

Gave it a try. Spent 30 minutes on each class trying to re-learn all the abilities and manage my endless keybinds, since last time i played was the launch of shadowlands, and didnt even reach max level.
Didn't play a second day.
As a Boomer, i honestly can't be bothered with those talents and abilities, which interract with each other in the background in multiple ways,
or with all the "whack-a-mole" gameplay that every spec of every class must have, apparently.
and the dozen (unneeded) cooldowns every class gets.
Seriously what is this obsession with cooldowns in retail?
Most of which you're supposed to press whenever ready, defeating the purpose of having them.
Kind of the same with the "rotations". very predefined down to a T, so what's the point? to test your attention span?
And it seems like our philosophies differ, since when Nixxiom got to max level wanted to start doing dailies.
Fuckin dailies of all things! maybe sprinkled with daily login rewards and weeklies and time-gating? delicious i bet.

I think Nixxiom is taking the word "shill" a little too literally. I call people shills when I see them being consistently positive about the game no matter what. Not necessarily because I think they're getting paid off. Nixxiom's only payoff is validation.

WoW as a whole doesnt interest me much anymore, but the way Nixxiom continues to talk about Dragonflight REALLY has be reconsidering.
Also, Classic plus would basically be Old School Runescape. The base of Classic, then they just add stuff but it's always JUST Classic.
