Watched this 100 times. And for the hundredth time the hairs on the back of neck stick out. This to me is the most powerful chaotic performance I’ve ever seen from mr Bowie. God do I miss this guy. When he passed the world did a downturn. Never been the same since.
Can't believe that this video has not had a million views, simply a stunning release of energy by the God himself One of his greatest songs, after lady grinning soul
A few weeks before this was shown, Bowie was playing in Glasgow and had the fortune of having a ticket. In near 40 years of gigging, only one song that got played live, that I hadn't ever heard previously, has blown me away completely. It was this one. The sound reverberated around the arena, was hypnotic and mindblowing. Then seeing it a few weeks later on Later was just thrilling...and still is.
We were so lucky to be in the audience for this! standing behind the drums somewhere was ear piercingly great experience! David Bowie a real professional. Oasis were on the same show, they quit halfway thru & Liam walked off drunk not being able to sing properly presumably to raid the rest of the minibar... lol . Bowie our Brixton boy done us proud! ...
No wonder his brother Noel stopped tolerating Liam’s pompous arrogant unprofessionalism … and squashed any future Oasis reunions (but never say never eh? …in this music world driven by ££€€$$? … rather than just raw talent.) Any artist witnessing this Bowie performance … would have felt 2nd rate amongst that bunch of musicians. Phenomenal sound and vision … pushing music to deliver an adrenalin rush like no other!
Certainly does ... David is so inspiring and Bowie fans so kind ... I'm glad to connect with him on my YT Channel ... its a real privilege to perform his songs.
I too saw this on Jools and it totally blew me away - a truly incredible fullness of sound, coming at you from all directions and filling every tiny corner. Beautiful. And the best musicians. Heaven truly must be a beautiful place now - though when he died my little granddaughter said he had become a butterfly - and I like that thought. What a man. What a sad loss. Can’t believe it’s been 5 years without this total legend of a beautiful man
Simply the best production of Parker fly Distortion, Feedback, Synth, bombastic Drum and Bass, and vocal with kitch berlinesque piano break. Simply wonderful thanks for posting, this Later edition was the reason I bought a Fly Deluxe as soon as I could afford one
I had this recorded on a VHS when it was on telly in 1994/95 and it worn out due to me playing it so much during the rest of the 90s, incredible performance x
with the exception of peter schwartz on keyboards, everyone else in the band either had already played with bowie or would continue to play with him. bowie made the mistake of having schwartz as the musical director when the duties should've been divided by carlos and mike on the older songs and reeves on the new songs.
Me Too. His soul Will have reincarnated, so he is still Alive..." I praise to you, nothing ever goes away" ( Seven years in Tíbet) I don't think he would want his fans to be sad, what do you think? ;)
this line-up is ridiculous. Makes me want to dig out everything where Gail and Carlos existed on the same stage, and thats just two of the ridiculously good team.
This is something- on top of Bowies regulars, "Carlos Alomar"-one of the Best guitarist's on planet earth- This is performance of "Hallo space Boy" Is just amazing ! ! ! Superb -Bravo David and guest.. .
So true - I saw bowie live & many times w/ Carlos. Unforgettable & amazing shows Serious moonlight & Glass spider he made work - I personally loved the big show !
Bowie always , I mean always , surrounded himself with the best musicians . From Robert Fripp to Earl slick etc etc - god bless Mick Ronson , not forgotten!
Give us some of your cold will ya”?! 😂😂 best Bowie’s performance ever for my taste. I wish I was playing guitar for him then… easy with that drummer and bass player 😊😊👋👋
I remember watching this on TV and being pinned back to the wall by the sound. Sadly, the sound quality is lacking on this video. I'd pay brisk money to get a studio-quality recording of that.
There's something about Bowie's performance here that makes me think he is channeling the spirit of his Station To Station era or the Duke himself. Just listen to him at 4:41, "The European canon is here".
The band look so scared like it's their first gig FFS. If I was there I'd be going mental. The bass player is the only one looking like they're rocking out. Also, why is DB singing so ahead of the beat? Maybe he's trying to tell them to speed up - not possible with the backing track. The drummer looks petrified of syncing already at the start. Other thoughts: DB charisma is off the scale. Scott Weiland stole EVERYTHING off Bowie. Watch Velvet Revolver - he's basically doing a Bowie impression.
Fame, Shame, Blame. Its no game!!!!! Shut up scary monster. Space boy if sing with gays its only gays song but if two complementary force find itch others song take life force from around life and becomes a description of humanity good or bad but true and universal as it becomes universal that poem-song
love this song, though Mick Garson ruins it with that stupid circus-music solo, the whole thing based on one lovely trichord is so great until he spreads the ill-fitting Romantic slush on top

Bowie's legs!!!! I've always loved his legs..brilliant performance.
Love Bowies later period band. Amazing rhythm section peppered with legends like Mike Garson, Carlos or Earl Slick. This hits hard
Essential playlist song
What can I say, such energy, such a great mix and such a genius
Best version.
He was so freaking amazing.
I had this recorded on a VHS when it was on telly in 1994/95 and it worn out due to me playing it so much during the rest of the 90s, incredible performance x
I have the same story to tell!
Wish words could describe that! The epitome of a performance art!
That's a serious band..

Carlos getting that feedback together. Heaven!
1995 December 2nd .. Bowie 48 years of age.
I miss him so much 😩

Hallo spaceboy, bye bye love, says it all. Hero x RIP.
This is probably the only band I've seen on this show where the set struggled to handled the enormity of their sound and presence. Brilliant
love this performance.... the line -up just over the top!!!!!!!
this line-up is ridiculous. Makes me want to dig out everything where Gail and Carlos existed on the same stage, and thats just two of the ridiculously good team.
The greatest live performance. Ever.
How would you like to be the next act on Jools' show that day?
This is something- on top of Bowies regulars, "Carlos Alomar"-one of the Best guitarist's on planet earth-

the best live versions are when Carlos was in the band.
So true - I saw bowie live & many times w/ Carlos.
Unforgettable & amazing shows
Serious moonlight & Glass spider he made work - I personally loved the big show !
Bowie always , I mean always , surrounded himself with the best musicians .

Take that back - was Earl Slick 4 serious moonlight - however DB loved to mix it up 4 diff effects
Carlos Alomar... genius.
+Minx the Jinx All these guys... Geniuses... Thanx for the good moments, Mr Jones...
This is the best version by far!

Goodbye Spaceboy. We still miss you.

Killing joke ?
😂
@@Stephan74 ...........you’ve got to admit that post Apocalyptic wall of noise sound is very Killing Joke like !
