I purchased the Jones Road Products and am loving them. I do use the balm over foundation as well. For mature women it gives us that glow and fresh look and for younger women it’s simple and clean. I’m enjoying the makeup line. If I wanted a super fancy full face of makeup I’ll use my normal routine. For day to day simple get up and go I love Jones Road.
I definitely have been a bit disappointed with the price points. They were marketed as being affordable for everyone and I was a little shocked to see that kind of marketing next to a $26 dollar eyeshadow. I’m still curious and might pick some things but I feel like that’s a little out of touch with reality to market it that way, especially in 2020. Love the review and honest feedback! ❤️
In my view, the problem with clean beauty isn’t that it’s a marketing scheme it’s that it replaces known safe ingredients with less tested ingredients- which might end up having the same (or worse) issues. It’s just we don’t know yet because the same scrutiny hasn’t been placed on those ingredients. People have every right to chose the ingredients they want, but there’s something really disingenuous about telling people you care about their safety without the follow through.
100% agree. Just because it's marketed as "clean" or "free from" doesn't mean it's doing your skin any favors. I had a look at the ingredients list for the Miracle Balm, and it has a plethora of potentially irritating plant extracts, including orange peel, grapefruit peel, ginger root, and rosemary leaf oils. No Dermatologist would endorse an ingredient list chock full of those "natural" plant-based ingredients, over supposed "baddies" such as silicons or parabens. Disingenous, like you said, to claim products are "clean", when they contain known potential irritants.
I bought two shades of the balm. It is sheer and a little bit sticky. I do like that they are sheer and look natural. Perfect for a touch of color on those days when you are not doing anything but want to look alive. I will apply in seconds a bit on cheeks, lips, around hairline and what’s left on my lids. It looks good but very un makeup like. I knew that and that’s what was appealing to me. For the purpose of a glow for everyday use. You do have to touch up through the day but it’s like putting on moisturizer so doesn’t take any time and I do put on with my fingertips. Over foundation with full face- a touch on cheek bone is lovely. Very large jars so will last a long time. I purchased Dusty Rose and Tawny. I am using the Tawny color most because it acts as a bronzer better. I have fair skin.
@@ShelbeyWilson I’ve gone as far as to make a wishlist, then look at prices, then back away slowly. I’ve heard great things about the products but can’t quite bring myself to do it. 😬
I wish instead of clean they would call it something else as it implies other products are dirty. I don't know how you would use sunscreen with the balm
Clean is not regulated and it’s meaningless. It’s a gimmick. I wish Bobbi didn’t think everyone was dry as a desert. Poor lasting performance and creasing with her stuff and the high prices makes this a brand to skip
i LOVE watching your videos! you are so polished, informative not to mention drop dead beautiful in the most natural way! how would you say the WTF foundation or products from bobbie's jones road compare to RMS?
This is the first I've heard of this brand! I really love the minimal packaging, but the products themselves didn't seem that interesting; except that balm that def sounds new. I do think the prices should have been just a touch lower for what they are delivering.
I didn't even know this existed. Have always loved Bobbi Brown cosmetics. They always were a little more pricy. Thanks for bringing this to my attention!!! Btw you look simply stunning here. Just that stunning yet approachable! Love it. 💕❤️😍
Please talk about the “dry” mascaras. I am finding every tube i seem to open is so wet that it lumps on my lashes and spend so much time with another spoolie trying to distribute the product. Which mascaras are your favs?
Great review! I think this no makeup, makeup trend is a bit weird. Perricone started it - I tried that and ended up giving the products to someone else! I can achieve similar ‘minimal’ looks from my existing makeup stash, without buying these products. I think if you are not a makeup wearer and looking for something minimal - then it may be great - but the price points on the Jones Road and Perricone ‘no makeup’ products are really high - for not apparent reason other than branding!
Spot on about the just a sec eyeshadow and pricing. I love everything but think it's a little bit overpriced and I didn't like how the just a sec eyeshadow creased, but it does work fine if a primer is used first, but I guess I felt like that defeated the point of this being quick easy makeup.
I want to know about the other powder eyeshadows - I have *several* original Bobbi Brown shadows - cement (loooove), taupe, sable, gray, wheat, mahogany, etc. Curious if Ash is close to cement or birch, if cool gray is similar to gray, and if dark brown is similar to espresso. So many of the shades look almost identical but they have just enough difference to justify having more than one.
This was most informative and an honest experience of this new product. It kinda makes me wonder why she sold her Bobble Brown brand. I have her pre foundation and I really like it. Thanks 😊
Great review, Shelbey! I have the Bronze miracle balm and love it to warm up my skin! I agree with all your reviews on this line so far. I will get the dusty rose color too when it comes back in stock. I’m looking forward to her face sticks/concealer sticks when those launch in January. I personally love clean brands as I don’t want to put a lot of bad ingredients that aren’t needed on my skin. Thanks for your video!!!
Hi! I have tried a few of these products. I enjoy the quick application and how most of it is moisturizing. Wondering if you have any other recommendations for non toxic makeup brands that are worth the money? Have you tried westman atelier? I feel like for the price of jones road, the lasting power is not there. I’m reapplying throughout the day. I do love the glosses though.
I love the look of her dark powder eye shadows. The dark brown (looks ashy, rather than reddish - so immediately I like the look of it!) and TBCITW especially. I've ordered her navy eye liner and au natural balm.....let's see!!! 🤞🏼
Anything looks good on your eyes, Shelbey, bc you can make the outer portion of your eyes lift, and lightly shadowed, and still look conservative and it will work for day or night. Wish I had your eye shape
I really love your videos! I’m a makeup junkie...I love trying everything I can, and still learning so much about application. Have you ever used Hourglass cosmetics?
Not interested. I love Bobbi Brown products but for what you are getting and lasting power there are too many other products that offer more without that price tag. 😫😫
Ordered the au natural balm, the pewter just a sec shadow and the mascara ... my order is slated to be delivered 12/4 - waited for the BF sale and 20% off. I would definitely NOT put the balm all over my combo very sensitive skin, but will use is it on my lips, cuticles, maybe as a balm for my dry hands, and I want to try it on my cheeks where I would use blush too.
Bobby Brown is my fav. I haven’t found a makeup brand where I like most of the products from their line.Their matte bronzers are spectacular. Nothing like them.I personally think they are worth the price especially if you can get their 30% Black Friday week discount. I think they do a 20% on new year week. New brand by Bobbi Brown is intriguing.
I don’t know why brands start talking about not putting out new products but do exactly the same! Also regarding clean beauty, removing certain ingredients is problematic because these ingredients have been tested for eons and they are proven to be safe. For all the claims they tout, there is no proof that the replacement ingredients are safe or have been tested rigorously.
It’s better to be cautious with everything that you put on your skin. I’d rather err on the side of caution then to trust beauty industry test stats. Just look a false eyelash glue for example that in some brands has formaldehyde in it but on the label it’s listed as formalin. Like many products and industries unfortunately they’re driven by profits not by efficacy.

Really good and fair review. Thanks, Shelbey! I too am intrigued by this line because I just love and trust Bobbi a lot. She picks tones so well. Anyways, I too wanted to buy the shade Tawny in the Miracle Balm for my busy sister who needs multi-use products. If one was to swipe it on the eyes, would it show up at all? Is that a bad idea?

I love makeup brands saying there is too much makeup but here, buy my makeup. This balm is not unique nor worth the price nor better than what is out there. You can literally take a tinted lip balm and apply it on your face in the same way. Eyeshadows, bronzers, highlighters and blush can be used in other ways than intended. Most likely that tub will go bad before you would use it up. I get Bobbi Brown’s aesthetic is minimal but her brand is not needed. Too expensive for such poor performing makeup!
