If your lid is sealing properly and not leaking it will only fill as high as the outlet port which is about halfway up the inside wall of the chlorinator leaving the other half air. This is the cause of there being a chance of having some serious chlorine off gas when you open the lid.

i have been looking at this CL220 and the CL200 chlorine feeders. which is the best for a already built in ground pool system. installation of either is not an issue for me. I just dont know which one works the best. of course if i can get the same results with the off line install i would rather do that. any information you can give will be great. thanks

Hi 51eoj I definitely prefer the off line feeders over in line because they do just as good of a job and there way easier to swap out and install. The only down side is you have two hoses to work around but with proper installation they shouldn’t ever get in the way. Another bonus is if you Winterize your pool annually there easy to take off and dump out. Thanks for watching!

The in-line feeders also cause a much greater restriction to water flow. That can be a problem if your pump is at all undersized for your system

How is the input line determined? After sight glass near generator motor?

I usually go between motor and filter on input line.

Hello do I need to use plastic fittings or can I replace with copper. What about copper tubing instead of plastic tubing?

Chlorine Tabs have a super low Ph so it will eat the copper fittings up pretty quickly. I would stay with plastic.
