- Every night, a mixed freight based out of the Selkirk Yard in upstate New York heads down the Metro North Railroad and Amtrak Hudson Line/Empire Corridor. Its destination is Oakpoint Yard in the south bronx which splits from the commuter railroad(s) just after Highbridge Yard.
This all happens during the nighttime while service is inactive to allow freight traffic to head through. However, on this specific morning, the train was held between Marble Hill and Morris Heights. CSX M701 would make its way through the link at 8:45 to 9:00 AM instead of the usual 5-7 AM.
As a result, this normally night service can be seen in broad daylight clearing a railroad crossing in the South Bronx with required bell and horn action. Enjoy! Авто/Мото
Yo I caught this in University Heights omw to school, I knew they had a crew and I couldnt see the locos on it
Thanks for posting this and nice video
Can't believe we both caught the same exact daylight CSX
The train was held between Morris Heights & Marble Hill iirc, I just went to the crossing so I could get the horn/bell with it
@@EnthusiastTheFanner Yeah I started seeing it's tail end in marble Hill, it fit the siding perfectly
It’s not often that we see a daylight CSX.
CSX M701 & M702 are the usual nighttime trips. Two daylight M701s happened just this week, those and occasional M702s leaving early enough to see the sunset happen more often during mid spring & most of the summer
