Watercolor house plants: Sansevieria Black Gold

- Hi guys! Today I decided to paint a tropical plant and I've chosen to paint these Sansevieria or snake plant and I've chosen to paint the Black Gold variety because I really enjoy the intricate pattern of this, however you can also use these techniques in the video to also paint other varieties if you would like to. These are actually super fun to paint, a little bit time consuming but I really enjoyed repeating the pattern and seeing the texture come up creating the special rigidness of the leaves. I'm thinking of painting other tropical plants in the future too, so I hope you guys enjoy this tutorial as much as I enjoyed painting them!

I have a beautiful snake plant that started as a 2” free plant 35 years ago and is about 5 feet tall now. I love painting it! Thank you so much for this tutorial! Speaking of plants, how is your rosemary doing? 🙂
That is awesome! My rosemary is growing well!!! :D:D:D one of my propagated one is somewhat surviving but I think it rained recently so the tip looked a bit rotten so I cut it off. I'm currently propagating a couple more in water just incase, but the mother plant is doing well! ^___^

Love this and can’t wait to try! If I want to put a gradient in the background, do you think it’s best to do at the beginning of the end?
Its up to you. Both ways you'd have to avoid painting the on the plants depending on how dark you're going to make the background I think😊 hope you enjoy painting this!

Can you suggest any cheap water olour sketchbook for beginners and if link is available then superb
this depends on what's available in your country. For us here Canson XL for watercolor and arto is easily available compared to other brands... I've also heard good things about Strathmore, but I've personally never used it before..You might want to start there?
