Per the manual, it does state you can use 1 cup of vinegar in a shallow dish on the top rack, add 3 tbsp of citric acid to the detergent compartment, and run on machine clean. This can be done every 30 cycles or once a month to eliminate odors, white spots, and residue soil. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for the tip! I do the vinegar part but want to try the citric acid. A light came on recently that looks like a little pot symbol and it means the dishwasher needed to be cleaned. I love the pre-set machine wash cycle this has!

Awe this makes me happy. Are you turning on “Night Dry” and not opening the door until the lighted “END” blank out on the panel? Mine always come out bone dry except for top rack cups that have a lip on the bottom which collects water. Another trick I saw was hanging a dish cloth over the door and shutting it to wick any leftover moisture away. Thanks for your note!
Does this dishwasher have a heating element? Or is it just the fan? I have the same one never seems to dry, I've never noticed it hot inside either after a cycle. I've never tried the night dry either.
Girl! You did an excellent job explaining the function of this dishwasher. I just bought one and was really wanting to know how to operate it without having to read all those instructions and you nailed it! Thanks a million! Appreciated. Great job!
This was a great tutorial that got us started with our new LG dishwasher. Initially We all stood back confused, even after reading the manual, that our first load of dishes required three hours to wash on normal cycle. After watching your video, I'm certain I am going to love our dishwasher too.
YES!! I felt it was much longer than my previous dishwasher, but I guess it takes over an hour to really get clean dishes. Thanks so much for your comment!
Husband just installed my new LG dishwasher today and I loaded it to wash and left it alone. 2 hours later my husband asked why it’s taking so long…. 2 HOURS? He said “ our old one didn’t take that long!” (He thinks it’s using more electricity and water which had him a bit irritated) ha! Now I know it’s normal run time
I have the same dishwasher and it’s my first time after installing it and when the guy left all It worked but after him I start turning it on it not working. Like when I started my cycle the time part was blank once it starts
DAAANNGG!!! I thought I was bad about overloading my dishwasher! LOL! Yeah Asians have to improvise with all the bowls. I noticed most of the dishwashers these days habe racks that are horribly designed and don't have adjustable tines for flexibility. Most are designed for plates. You have to get up to about the $600 range to find a washer with a decent adjustable rack. The LG's had the best racks in my opinion and it can mean the difference of being able to maximize your load and getting the best cleaning.
You can totally just put the dishes in and use it as a drying rack. Pro Tip to hang a wet towel on the door and shut it, it will absorb moisture. But as far as a function for drying, I don't think so.
Wonder if they last longer than their refrigerators......I wont ever be finding out cause theres no way in hell you will get me to consider any other LG product
@@FruityMom At the time we bought our fridge we bought a washer an dryer also. So far no issues but considering the quality they put into the fridge I am not confident that we will be satisfied with the lifespan of these. Best of luck
Madam we have purchased dishwasher after seeing this video, but our machine is starting from first after powercut, why it is happening like that, is there any option for auto restart pls explain
Hi Shaik, not sure what a power cut is, do you mean a black-out or when the power goes out? If you need to reset, just hold down the START button and it should turn off. Then restart the cycle you want. Check the owners manual to be sure. Hope this helps!
This is not a good dishwasher the control panel lets in the water because the dishwasher is usually located near the kitchen sink. The control panel gets corroded with water inside and stops working. Terrible design after the guarantee runs out you’re on your own. Very hard to find an LG technician who can fix this and the panel cost a lot of money to replace .
Guys You need to take filter out and clean after each use. Add 1/4 cup baking soda, 1/4 cup vinegar or 2 tablespoon citric acid in the filter hole where filter goes in. Filter located on the bottom of the floor.
Just bought a new one and I pressed normal setting. The dishes were not dry and the inside was quite wet. I see your digital display is clear. I can't even see the numbers.
Disastrous dishwasher control panel lights in water because the dishwasher is near the kitchen sink. After the guarantee runs out very hard to find a LG technician
I notice LG only gives a 1 year warranty (no cost to the customer) on parts and labor, if something was to go wrong. Would you recommend getting the extended warranty? Did you get it?
Hi Fruity Thank you for your shared How much time run in half load? And What the difference between lower (bottom)load and Upper (top) load Thank you 🙏
Hello! Thx for watching. I have not run a half load in a while but I want to say 45 mins. Also, when you select the top or bottom then the sprays will only focus on those sections. So if the bottom is empty, it may not focus on that area. Saves water and all that. Hope that makes sense. 😊
I just bought a new LG dishwasher and it’s pretty nice. It’s not as quiet as my previous dishwasher which was a Bosch dishwasher but i spent almost $1000 for it. My new LG was $600 on sale. By the way, why did you install your dishwasher so low? The gap between the top of the dishwasher’s door and the bottom lip of your countertop should be very small. I noticed the gap on yours has a pretty large gap.
Update on my LG It was bought 2019, after digging further with home Depot I found out that my Lovely wife paid for extended warrantee. Halleluiah all fixed parts and labor free.@@FruityMom

Yes, they are, but the cup goes between the little arms. Also, the closer you place dishes to the center, the more jets will hit it so pro tip: put the dirtiest cups in the middle section. Thanks!
It’s for the dishes. Make sure you have selected the sub function of extra dry by holding it for 3 seconds. Then the moon 🌙 symbol should be lit. Don’t open the door until the END indicator turns off. Mine come out bone dry.
@@user-fj5qu2kw2u hi! No, like I said mine comes out completely dry when I follow the steps above. The time stamp should be 2;48 or something like that when you run a normal cycle with night dry. Is that what you see?
That’s no good! If bottom is wet, the filter might be clogged. Pull it out and check/clean it. Otherwise you may need to call service. Hope it is still under warranty!
Hi! Yes make sure that you hold down the extra function called *night dry. And once it says END. Don’t open the dishwasher door for at least a few hours or until it blanks out on its own. The fan will run on and off to dry them. Once in a while when I open it up, I have to toss the lids and cups around. Good luck!!

it should not go blank. does the cycle also stop when it does this? could it be the power connection is loose?
Thank you so much!! It helped a lot!!! I was so confused with mine and being new to it. Thank you!!!
Thanks Sandra! Hope it's still running well for you!
The LG's had the best racks in my opinion and it can mean the difference of being able to maximize your load and getting the best cleaning.
bubba lo guilty as charged!! We are terrible but the dishwasher is forgiving. Haha
Hi, would you please tell me if I can just dry the plate? Thanks
You can totally just put the dishes in and use it as a drying rack. Pro Tip to hang a wet towel on the door and shut it, it will absorb moisture. But as far as a function for drying, I don't think so.
Thank you great information 😊
how does one know when the rinse aid dispenser is full? does it just overflow?
Yup, it does hold a lot though which is good. I find myself refilling it only every 3 months
Wonder if they last longer than their refrigerators......I wont ever be finding out cause theres no way in hell you will get me to consider any other LG product
We just bought their washer/dryer --- terrible
Power cut means electricity interruption madam
check out the packing on that middle rack, I am shocked anything came out clean.
Guys
You need to take filter out and clean after each use.
Add 1/4 cup baking soda, 1/4 cup vinegar or 2 tablespoon citric acid in the filter hole where filter goes in.
Filter located on the bottom of the floor.
Can you get night air off?
You do a very nice job reviewing your appliances. You should review your washer and dryer.
Great tutorial video. Thank you so much!
Just bought a new one and I pressed normal setting. The dishes were not dry and the inside was quite wet. I see your digital display is clear. I can't even see the numbers.
3:53 its not think its th-in-q I don't know why but that's how they pronounce it.
And also does the spoons and forks have to face each other?
Thanks! No the utensils can go any direction but recommend the stems down
Disastrous dishwasher control panel lights in water because the dishwasher is near the kitchen sink. After the guarantee runs out very hard to find a LG technician
I notice LG only gives a 1 year warranty (no cost to the customer) on parts and labor, if something was to go wrong. Would you recommend getting the extended warranty? Did you get it?
Hi Fruity
Thank you for your shared
How much time run in half load?
And
What the difference between lower (bottom)load and
Upper (top) load
Thank you 🙏
Nice deal you got on it! My dishwasher screws fell off! so far it's working ok without them screwed into the counter
Great review ! Very helpful.
I bought my LG 3 years ago, now it's dead.
Nooo! I’m so sorry to hear this. We have had a few problems as well :(
Update on my LG
It was bought 2019, after digging further with home Depot I found out that my Lovely wife paid for extended warrantee. Halleluiah all fixed parts and labor free.@@FruityMom
Can you change the time for each cycle?
Not that I know of!
😊❤Thank you so much, Grrrl I wuz getting crazy mad at trying ta operate dis thing when sometimes it worked fine then next time could not figure out what the problem wuz. 😂I did not know about the power lock and wuz bumping into it mid cycle and upsetting the cycle. I 😢wuz too lazy ta read the owner’s manual and wuz bout ta break down an read it dis morning when I came across ya RUclips🎉 Thank you…thank you… thank ya ❤Much Love 💕
Hahaha! That would be so frustrating and I still bump into mine and have had to start it over. Ugh. Im glad you Stuck with it and that this helped!
is there any way you can run the dishwasher without using rinse aid? please respond!
Talida Adnan yes absolutely no rinse aid required
This was so helpful! What happens when I wake up after night dry and the machine is filled with moisture? How do I turn the heat dry on?
I haven’t tried to turn it on after running a wash and not sure it can be turned on outside of a washing load.
Fantastic thorough review 👏 👌 👍
Thank you 🌻
Nice review thanks
Wait so those little arms sticking up are not to hold your cups in place?
Yes, they are, but the cup goes between the little arms. Also, the closer you place dishes to the center, the more jets will hit it so pro tip: put the dirtiest cups in the middle section. Thanks!
Hello, extra dry mean to dry up the dishwasher machine? Or the dishes? Cuz my dishwasher after cycle the machine is still wet inside
It’s for the dishes. Make sure you have selected the sub function of extra dry by holding it for 3 seconds. Then the moon 🌙 symbol should be lit. Don’t open the door until the END indicator turns off. Mine come out bone dry.
So dishwasher is wet is normal? They don’t have function to dry up the machine?
@@user-fj5qu2kw2u hi! No, like I said mine comes out completely dry when I follow the steps above. The time stamp should be 2;48 or something like that when you run a normal cycle with night dry. Is that what you see?
Yet, I do the same, but bottom of the machine come out still wet, need to use paper towel to wipe it up :(
That’s no good! If bottom is wet, the filter might be clogged. Pull it out and check/clean it. Otherwise you may need to call service. Hope it is still under warranty!
I have the exact same lg dishwasher, and I just brought it. However my dishwasher won’t dry my dishes, any advise?? Thank you so much!
Hi! Yes make sure that you hold down the extra function called *night dry. And once it says END. Don’t open the dishwasher door for at least a few hours or until it blanks out on its own. The fan will run on and off to dry them. Once in a while when I open it up, I have to toss the lids and cups around. Good luck!!
I feel so much better that I'm not the only one that stacks their dishwasher like that!!!
Well done---just had ours installed---very good tutorial. BIG Thanks
Very welcome! Glad it helped and congrats on the new fridge! 🎉
Great review or tutorial but the music is way too loud. Just installed my new dishwasher what an awesome deal from Lowes floor model (New) for an unbelievable price $307. saved $450 My Samsung lasted only 4 years with 2 repairs.
So sorry about the music, I need to tone it down for future videos! Wow what a great deal you got - those only come with perfect timing!
Where do you fill up the salt
Hey Magda, what salt do you mean? If it's the dishwashing detergent, there is a compartment on the inside of the door.
What product is used in lg dishwasher for hard water spots
Thank you for the very detailed video very much helpful- I'm pricing one right now- :)
Great review! Nice job! Thanks!!! I just bought an LG and this helped me. Hate reading manuals. But Wow, you had it 2 years and still have not removed the sticker and protective film over the door?
Hi! You noticed that huh? LOL. I need to remove it.
