One thing that isn't even mentioned is the lack of a curb at the drop-off area. This is subtle, but huge. I've flown out of the new LGA 4 or 5 times now, and it's so nice to pull your bag out of the trunk of a Lyft and then just roll right on into the terminal. It's the little details like this that really tell you this is a new airport for the 21st century.
There'll be an airtrain like JFK come 2024. It'll connect at Willets Point, which is counterintuitive at first since you go away from Manhattan, but the idea is that it also connects to LIRR, which helps people on Long Island.
I was shocked when I flew into LGA back in October. It's amazing and so well done. Its like half done though, can't wait until it's all uniform and pretty.
It's nice to see that they finally got around to building on those architectural drawings they drew up in the 1960's, a positive adding in current technology where they could.
Flew out of LGA in Sept 2023. I was a little apprehensive that it was going to be so big and confusing. Ive gotta say that this was the BEST big airport i went through out of the 8 i used in Australia, USA and Canada. Its beautfiful, easy to navigate and so unique.
I went through the old LaGuardia in 2015. Yea, it was a mess. It felt like I had gone back in time to the 1980s and it had a dilapidated miserable feel to it. This new one looks fantastic. Can't wait to head back over to the States one day and check it out.
I remember when I was young, traveling through that airport terrified me. This is a welcome sight if I happen to remember those old memories while connecting through this airport.
I remember the first time I landed at Laguardia airport (I am European). My friend came to look for me and when he saw me with a panic face he asked me what was wrong with me, and I said to him - Is this one of the main airports of the most powerful city on earth? - He shrugged and said - But it's only the airport, the city is beautiful! -. Good to see that they have fixed that problem, now it is a real airport and not a dystopian set from a zombie movie.

I flew into LGA in Feb 2019 and it was not the best airport but I had no problem with it. Now the new terminal is there, I gotta fly out again after the pandemic.
Super awesome to see this. Flying out of LGA monthly (pre-covid) was always dreadful. I remember my flight from DTW to LGA was delayed due to storms in DTW, so I missed my connection to YHZ from LGA, United rebooked me on the last flight that night at 11PM so I was stuck in that terminal for 12+ hours. I’ll never forget that day. Now I just leave and head into the city. Lesson learned.

The secret to a great LaGuardia experience is to go very early in the morning or after 8pm. You will have no traffic and you can be home in Manhattan in 30 minutes. I just flew in to the new terminal and it is beautiful. My only complaint is that the restaurants all close at 9 or 10pm and you have flights arriving up to 11pm. They need to schedule more late night arrivals and departures to ease congestion. And they need to keep the restaurants open later.
