New Orleans is really one of a kind, def the most unique city in the US. And the architecture is a mix of several cultures. The stucco walls, inner courtyards, and intricate wrought iron balconies seen in the French Quarter actually came from the Spanish.
I agree it is like no place other! An incredible experience there’s just so much to look at you wouldn’t get bored even if you walked the streets, loved every moment of it !
I’m very jealous about your time in New Orleans this is one place in the world that I would love to visit, to me it’s not about the Jazz but very much about the Blues 🥁🎸🎶🎷pleased to see your having such a great time.
I live right outside New Orleans, glad you had a great time! Whenever I go out of town I look forward to getting back home so I can eat my good ole New Orleans food... gumbo, poboys, etouffee, fried shrimp, oysters, fried onion rings, cold beer.... Enjoy your trip, be safe! ☮
Your making me hungry naming all those dishes I miss New Orleans already! It’s one of those places I HAVE to go back to! Thank you for watching and the lovely comment ☺️
Brought back memories. I lived in a bright blue shotgun house on Magazine Street when I was young, not long after graduation from college. I would walk everywhere and eat shrimp etouffe and bread pudding all the time, loved pancakes in the brunch on Saturdays. I could walk the calories off in those days. Don’t miss the heat and humidity but always have a love in my heart for NOLA. Old now, male pattern baldness, arthritis in my left hip, too heavy around the waist, been married to the same woman for 32 years….live in Virginia. Naw’lens got really hurt and quite frankly almost destroyed by Katrina but glad to see it still alive. I can’t even remember any Cajun French which I could speak good enough to get by in the day. Enjoy your trip west, it will get much cooler, maybe even down right cold in the mountains.
So lovely to ready your story, funny the way you typed it made me say it out loud, it’s still hustling and bustling for sure I spoke to a few people about Katrina it’s evident that the city surrender horrifically, incredible that your grew up there I was walking around imagining what it would be like such a vibrant place yet rustic and rough round the edges but so full of spirit and culture, an incredible place! Thank you for sharing and watching ☺️✨🖤
The only thing worse than seeing a nasty bug in your home is to have it disappear. Beignet is pronounced Ben-Yeah Glad to see you are enjoying New Orleans!!
We managed to find it and get rid of the pesky thing gave us the creeps and it was bigger than it looked 😅 thank you we loved New Orleans heading into cooler climate now 😃
Live oak trees with Spanish moss & Resurrection fern ~ My top picks when in NOLA : Cafe duMonde, Dookie Chase, Antoines, Preservation Hall~ thanks for taking us along. Hope y'all make it to Savannah, GA and Charleston SC.
Amazing thank you! They are so beautiful I’m glad I know now I knew someone would inform me ☺️ absolutely stunning! Loved NOLA would love to go back again one day! Excited to keep exploring 😊
greetings from SL kiddies !!! brill vibes in NO , the bloke in the boilersuit 😂, alligators everywhere , stew and heads even ...i have my crocs on 😉 (i'll get me coat) ... michael displaying his legendary total lack of fear of 8 leggers and creepy crawlys in general 😂😂Frenchman St looks great , take care both , lotsa luv xx
Eyyyyyup Phill, we knew you’d laugh at the cockroach seen feel like I should have given Debbs a heads up 🙈 glad you enjoyed it we loved NO but off to the mountains we go now!
Another great vlog! You were asking about the tires you saw going down the highway. Those look like tires from a truck called the "earth mover". They are used on a dump truck as big as a house. I've seen them used a lot at rock quarries or for mining. They are one of the many crazy and impressive looking things you see in the south. 😄
Thank you for watching I appreciate that so good to be exploring the south! Ahhhhh that makes sense thank you for informing me would love to see the vehicle I’ll have to give it a Google!! 😃
I’m an expat from uk living in Toronto. Was down in NO back in may, beautiful city but be careful some very dangerous spots you must avoid. It flooded when we were there but hot as hell too. Have a great time enjoy the vibe 🎉
Rain in the South does not mean cooler weather -- rain is always warm and brings more humidity. It doesn't cool down in the South until December, January and February. The rest of the time it is hot.... You have to have air conditioning everywhere even in camping vehicles. If you want cooler air you need to go to the West and go to the higher elevations like 7,000 ft. or above. At least in the West there is very little humidity. The Eastern part of the U.S., is humid...
Oh my gosh! You don't have Air Conditioning in your van?? I'd die. I live in South Florida (summer in Nova Scotia by Peggy's Cove) Can't live in the south without AC in your car.
I know everyone is always so shocked we wanted to have it fitted in our cabin before coming over but ran out of time it’s a lot of money to have it fitted into the van too but would have been worth it, we back in cooler climate now 😊
Have you got the App called Merlin it tells you what bird song is around, you just point your phone in the direction of the sound, hope I’m not telling how to suck eggs.
I haven’t heard of it ☺️ so thank you very much I appreciate that I’ll download it because yesterday I hear birds that sounded like they were blowing a whistle 😂 and I really wanted to know what they were too I appreciate you thank you 🙏 ✨

I live up in the Pacific Northwest and have to have A/C in the car and central air in the house!!
I’m not surprised! Much needed 🥵
Those tires are for haul trucks in a mine.
Ahhhhh I see wow they’re crazy big, good to know I saw them again yesterday 😃

@@demieverafter I guess AC is not a priority in the UK. Definitely is here. Hope you're more comfortable on the rest of your trip.
The big tires are for mining equipment
Would never have guessed never seen anything like it 😂
@@demieverafter Hahaha I hear you

Alligator taste like chicken. Live Oaks covered in Spanish Moss. New Orleans French Quarter comes alive at night.
All good to know thank you 🤩
That cockroach looked bigger in person than it did on camera
